Kenji was supposed to come here, I knew that much, but I didn't quite know who his opponent was, it seemed to be scrubbed from every board in the area. I sighed, it would be difficult to fight if he didn't known his opponent.

I glanced at the board and scratched my head, "Awww maaan, why can't they ever write the signs correctly...jeez this sucks," I looked around. My opponent whoever it was hadn't shown up yet.
"Hey, Amaya, how are ya!" I waved as I climbed up onto the arena platform.

Hopping up onto a near by roof, I decided to watch the battle from above. There was surely no way that he would be defeated no matter the opponent.
"Go for it Kenji!" I called out.

I walked through the crowds slowly, I knew it would come to this eventually. I had to fight Kenji at some point. Yet I don't think he understood even as I walked up onto the arena.
"..." I didn't speak, just remained silent. My resolve to utterly destroy him spoke for me. The wildness screaming out.

I shuddered and turned around. This couldn't be. I could feel myself shaking, and it wasn't with excitement or rage. I calmed myself down. I was about to fight my Sensei, something that was a large feat.
Why did they put me in this predicament. I drew Jiyuuishi slowly, I had to be ready for anything and I had to prevent Kai from awakening his Shikai this early. It was almost demonic his Shikai, he didn't have to move and he could defeat me. Yet this fight was about making that concept untrue.
"Gimme all you got then Sensei," With that I launched forwards, not using Shunpo, just sheer speed, and sheer determination to get to him before he got to me. I carved down from this shoulder to his opposite hip. There would be no way he was escaping.

Waraku was in my hand in the blink of an eye and I watched as Kenji ran forwards. I switched my blade to my left hand and then drew the blade through the air to counter his blade, my Shikai: Yin already awakened. It gleemed as it was driven, gathering more and more power, as I poured more and more Reiatsu into it. I wasn't going to be defeated today. After making contact with the blade, I sliced straight down his arm to his shoulder.

My eyes went wide, "No..." I gasped as he made contact with my sealed Zanpakuto. I should've gone for all I was worth. The next thing I knew there was a blade slicing down my shoulder. I used Shunpo almost snapping my ankles as I forced myself backwards.
"JIYUUISHI!!!!!!" I yelled out as I watched the blade fall to the floor. I was still holding half of it, and he most likely hadn't intended to cut my Zanpakuto in half but that was the consequence of my foolishness. I sheathed my Zanpakuto and held out my hand.
"You will pay!" With that I aimed my fingers at him, "Byakurai!" The white light shot out at him.

"I won't allow you to," I said firmly, sheathed Waraku and gathered my Reiatsu into my hand. If he carried on attacking like this, he wouldn't stand a chance.
"33rd Art of Destruction: Sokatsui," I skipped the incantation to halve the power of my attack to counter the Byakurai.

"...AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" I screamed as the blast hit full force, it might have been lessened by the Byakurai, but the force of the blast was still powerful. I flew backwards riding the wave of the blue fire and out of the arena landing on my backside.

"What?" I said in disbelief. I looked at my hand. I didn't have that kind of power yet. What the hell had happened. Warakut then started humming and I tuned in.
"Your resolve was higher than his, his byakurai hit, but...that resolve reflected the attack, you should be more careful." Waraku stated as if it were a matter of fact. I almost sighed, turned around and started walking away.

"DRAT..." I said slamming my fist into the ground, "God dammit!" I couldn't believe I had lost so foolishly. This definately wasn't the highlight of my day at all. Kai reigned so much higher than I did, and we'd started the academy at the same time. I mumbled to myself how much I was starting to hate him because he was so much better, but behind that, I wanted to be just like him, I wanted to be as strong as he was, I wanted to have as much experience as he did.
Jiyuuishi was in half before me. That was something that I don't think even my Sensei had anticipated. My spirit compared to his was so weak it seemed as if he was in heaven, while I was in the wastelands of earth. Guess that's why I originally agreed to work under him.
"Damn damn damn damn damn," I muttered getting up and dusting my self off. I put both parts of the blade back in the sheath and turned to my friends. The breaking of my Zanpakuto related to my spirit breaking and it was so, but I wasn't going to give up just yet, I had to challenge him once more.
"Alright you guys, where did he go this time?"

I looked at Kenji. He'd been beaten so easily, where was the honour in that? I turned to where Sensei had been moments ago. The power gap was just too significant between us and him. Why was he progressing so fast. I turned back to the group.
"So what do we do now?"

I looked a the other two and saw that Kenji had injuries, "Well first i'm going to heal Kenji's injuries, and then we can start training again, i'm sure there's somewhere that we can train, maybe in the aqueduct?" I took out my Zanpakuto and held the tip to Kenji's injuries.
"Flutter and divide," I said quietly and the butterflies converged on his wounds in a glowing mass before returning back to the sheath.
"Kenji, you're the leader, but I think we should train hard, he can't be so far ahead of us like that, it isn't possible."

"I really need to get this fixed but...yeah, Amaya's right," I admitted and started walking, "But he's far stronger than the three of us put together."
With that said I headed towards the aqueduct.
