I've seen a few people on the internet complaining that we people with AS complain a lot.
My question is...we do?
I only just found this out...
Come to think of it, I like to complain a bit...
But is it true? Is complaining really an AS thing? I have AS and I didn't even know this! I've never seen this in those big lists of "Symptoms for people with AS" I've seen. Why was it missed out?
Am I missing something here?

Like they're any better, complaining about complaining. xd May be they just happen to know a lot of people with AS that complain. I think you're right in that complaining is not a part of those lists of AS symptoms. AS symptoms might make people more likely to complain, especially the difficulty of understanding other people's feelings. People with AS might also face misunderstanding and complain about it.

That said, I think I complain a lot, and I admit that sometimes it's because I like to complain. I was the one who wrote a new set of words to a song just to complain about school.

I complain a lot. I usually complain about social hyperactive girls who jump on top of each other, and occasionally I start listing my Hate list, which is very very long.

I think it might be because we have more to complain *about*. Little things that don't bother other people can really set us off, after all.

I feel like I complain a lot. My family would probably agree, but people that know me casually, like at work, say I absolutely never complain (probably because I'm usually very quiet there, heh).

I love to complain. I do it every chance I get, unless it would actually upset other people.

I thought it was just me, though...

If they give me a reason to complain. Why does Foamy on illwillpress.com always b***h and rant out? Because people are freaking ideots. If people weren't such morons in everyday life, then I'd be less complaining about it.

Haha. I love Foamy. He likes to complain about how fat people are stupid if they go on the Fatkins diet. Apparently it's bad for you.

Same here, before I knew about Foamy, my friend thought my wording on messenger sounded a lot like Foamy talking. Woot!

I definately love the little thing he did with the black saying 'once you go black you never go back'. Not because I'm white and find racial jokes funny, but because people always use racial steriotypes like this to make themselves feel better about themselves instead of actually being able to make themselves feel better just to know they are wanted and not just another waist of time.

My mother complains about how I complain constantly. Her complaining probably gets on my nerves more than my complaining gets to her. sweatdrop

I complain a lot, but never about the problems associated with my AS; I tend to whine about not wanting to do things or being cold. Oh, or signs I see with incorrect spelling or grammar (such as a local Mexican resturaunt that styles itself "El Azteca." Would it kill them to learn just a little about the language they are appropriating?).

Hehe... I sometimes complain about my sensory problems, or people who need to learn how to type. (You know... I hope I'm not attacking anyone in the Guild, I'm rather new... but the people "who typ liek ths" Or something along those lines...)

But I usually only complain when I'm in some sort of discussion that calls for it, I'll tell people who type in chatspeak to learn how to type correctly (I understand spelling erros and typos, though... 'cause I get them all the time...)

Generally, when I'm in a discussion about things like little kids and their need to be diciplined/quieted, I'll bring up my sensory problems and how that affects how i hear them and everything. But I try not to complain.

However, when it's happening right beside me, I might finally get sick of listening to high pitched screaming from a toddler who should know better and to tell the Mother to either get them out, or quiet them. Whichever comes easier...

Huh. I thought complaining was one of those "everyone does it, it's human nature" type of things. Because come on people, who doesn't complain? Especially when the weather's not so great. It is just unbelievable how much people feel the need to remind everyone that it's hot out, even when there's no way they could possibly not notice. God, I hate that.

And yeah, I know, totally hypocritical and all, but it's only a specific type of complaining that bothers me. I like the well thought-out, non-whiny rants and the like, just not the whiny or mundane stuff that no human being could possibly not notice.

Hehe... not many people notice the terrible pain going through my head when the toddler screams! razz

I might complain about things I think are injust, but far more often I won't complain if I think it's putting someone out. In fact I'll often just let people do whatever they want now so long as it's not effecting anyone else.
