Biff sits in a chair with his chin resting on his hands. He remembers the series of events that day.

Biff: Chris…

Chris cried in the hospital bed, Biff’s ears hung low.

Chris: I knew it in my heart that it was his kid… all along I knew…

The doctor pulls Biff out of the room and shows Chris’ chart.

Doctor: Based on all her symptoms, this is not a case of the baby blues. Miss Marlous has postpartum depression. She’s incapable to care for the child.

Minna hands Biff a cup of coffee.

Minna: If you’d like, I can help…
Biff: Hm?
Minna: To get over her depression, Mula is a nice place and my house is always opened…
Biff: Would you really?
Minna: Yes; it’s just up to you to take care of Scarlet.
Biff: Scarlet… Marlous… Ruby…

Biff kisses Chris on the forehead, she grabs his wrist.

Chris: Promise me…
Biff: Hm?
Chris: Don’t tell Ivan… not yet.
Biff: Chris –
Chris: One day I will, but for now, please…

Shaking his head, Biff gets up from the chair.

Biff: She’s relying on me to take care of her daughter… but it’s Ivan’s child too…

The nurse walks in holding Scarlet wrapped up in a pink baby blanket. Biff takes Scarlet and notices the pink cap on her head. The nurse smiles at Scarlet.

Nurse: Her bunny ears are so cute; I’d have her showing that tiny little bald head to everyone.
Biff: Heh-heh…

The nurse leaves the room and Biff grins at Scarlet.

Biff: Hope you like wearing hats Miss Scarlet.

In the car, Biff sees Scarlet sound asleep in her car seat. Biff sighs.

Biff: You know…

Biff leaves the parking lot and starts to drive down the road,

Biff: I always said the Goddess came before anyone else…

Scarlet yawns; Biff smiles.

Biff: But you’ll be the first exception.
