Many of you might know this already, but I'll just post this information to all the others who don't know this yet smile . Here it goes: On 8th January 2007 there will be a brand new anime adaptation of Les Miserables (It will be the second japanese anime production of Les Mis after "Jean Valjean Monogatari"): the show will be called "Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette", and will have 52 episodes. I knew they had to do it eventually. 52 episodes...finally someone realizes that it can't be done in two hours! How did you find out about this? Where did you find the promo poster (I couldn't click anything on the site)? When was this information released?
My thoughts: It looks like they're actually going to stick with the story judging by the pictures. Assuming of course that Cosette doesn't turn into a magical girl, Fantine doesn't come back from the dead several times, and Javert isn't some sort of ninja...

Funny, I always pictured her as a brunette. Oh well. Now to get this out of my system, YAAAAAAY! She looks SO CUUUTE! Although...I wanna see some bishonen. Bring in the barricade boys!
(H is @ the website). Ha! Javvy's ugly! That'll teach those obsessive drooling fangirls! Fantine's (I hope it's her. How many other blonde chicks are there?) really pretty though.

Don't get your hopes up for bishi barricade boys... Judging by the title, its only going to consintrate on Cosette. I wouldn't be surprised if it ended after Valjean took her from the Thenardiers.
And if it were to go to the end, they'll probably gloss over the barricade thing to consintrate on Cosette and Marius. And while we're at it, if older Eponine is even present she'll probably have all the depth stripped of her and be protrayed as just an evil little Thenardier who's trying to steal Cosette's boyfriend.
Mmm... I hope I'm not right. I'm gonna be pissed if I'm right.

(suddenally got an image of Valjean singing "And all the girlies say I'm pretty fly for a old guy") I can deal with little details being wrong... but by god, if they don't give proper dues to the baricade boys, don't protray Eponine well, don't give Montparnasse at least some screen time or name a Patron Minette members something like "Gang member 1"... ...well, I'm flying over to Japan and we're gonna have some words.

I hope they at least:
1. Put Enjolras in the show. I mean, seriously...
2. Let him be leader of the revolutionaries.
3. Let Eponine save Marius. None of this "Oh no I accidentally got shot" nonsense.
4. Don't make Javert evil. Yes, he's the antagonist, but he's not evil.
5. Put all of the Amis in the show, and, (here's a novel idea) let them have names.
6. Put Azelma in the show.
But I'm sure they'll do all of that. Since it's supposed to be "based on the book". Funny how fans are...the first we do is start ripping on the makers for all the things we just know they're going to do wrong.

Oh... I don't think that Nippon Animation will screw up Les Mis... The anime adaptation is going to be released as the 24th production from the series called: "World Masterpiece Theater" (japanese equivalent to "Walt Disney Classics"); they have produced many great cartoons on which I grew up, like: "Little Lord Fauntleroy", "Little Princess Sarah" and "Moomin" - so I'm perfectly sure that they would feture much more characters than just Cosette, Valjean, Javert, Fantine, Marius and Thenardiers.
