Well i was thinking, and thinking and i can't really put my finger down on drosselmeyer. Is he just a sick man who writes stories? or a man who though opressed, tried his hardest to survive? (XD)

I'm going with a weird man who writes stories but then watches them for his own amusement.

Drosselmyer really scares me. I mean, really? Having some old dead guy in charge of your destiny? Really, really uncomfortable thought. Also? You know who Fakir and he share their powers? Maybe they're related or something. Weird, huh? Who knows.

yes actually they are fakir is a descendant of drosselmeyer thats why he could :SPOILER: write stories that come true, so in the end, with ahiru's help he was able to finish the story :END:

well, true he does control your destiny but before that he wasa man who was persecuted for writing stories right? *O_o wait, why were his hands cut off again? sweatdrop xp

When do you find out that Fakir's a descendent of Drosselmyer? (Goes back to watch whole series) Also, I guess you really can't write without any hands, eh?
I wonder how they are related... I wonder if Mo knows... (mutters random things)... and the shower cap?... (Er... that's just weird.)

Wai, Drosselmeyer, Drosselmeyer... I dislike him as much as I like him. He's a funny and interesting catalyst in the PT plot, and yet he's so... so creepy. C'mon, that clip of him at the end of each episode, rocking in his rocking chair? "Children who love stories..."

I mean, come on. Tell me that wasn't... weird >>;.

But without him, there would have been no story. There wouldn't even have been a Prince and the Raven story to go off of. He's the wonderfully eccentric spark that started the flame of the story we all love so much; and without his meddling, Ahiru would have never become a human girl. There'd be nothing to watch but a really mean Fakir, an emo Mytho, and an obsessed Rue!

So, those are some good things in his favor. Then, I just have to say that I love characters like Drosselmeyer, in usually whatever form they take. He's a writer, for one. And he's just so gosh darned weird that it's FUNNY xd . And he makes things interesting. He just... does.

Then again, against him; he IS creepy. And to an extent, his total and utter disregard for the feelings of the characters he had created irked me, especially near the end of the series (as he continued insisting that everything end in tragedy). He created them, so why make them so miserable!? Sure, that's interesting, but... mean, really.

I still like him though. I've been wondering as well however... how is he related to Fakir? Great-grandfather (if that's the case, then who was his wife oO!?)? Great-uncle? Something else? It had to be a blood relation somehow. I've just always wondering exactly where on the family tree Fakir fell there. You find out that he's actually related to Drosselmeyer near the end of the second season I think, when Aotoa came into play (the mean kid with the glasses that worked in the library).

And yes, his hands were choppied off xD. But he doesn't seem to mind. His hands were cut off because people realized how he could manipulate reality and make stories real. That creepy little club of old men apparently took it upon themselves to keep him from wreaking havoc through his stories (didn't work, old guys >>).

I have to agree with Luci Christian and Chris Patton on this one; Drosselmeyer belongs in the Village People. sweatdrop

What's with the weird Indian get-up anyway? That costume is the thing of nightmares!!! gonk

But Drosselmeyer is key to the story and therefore is important, so I guess he's okay... I wish he wasn't so demented, though. sweatdrop

Maybe...
But maybe he wanted his fate like that?
Or maybe he made it that way on purpose? Odd to thing of it that way, but still.

Even though Drosselmeyer could bend reality and stuff like that, I don't think he could change the past... maybe go back and observe, like what happened to Kreahe, but he wouldn't be able to change it.

I don't think.

... Then again, he's weird. whee
PostPosted: Mon Nov 06, 2006 12:39 pm

I wonder , at what point did he have the power to bend reality? Was it after or before his death? i'm guessing before, then he had a reason to have his hands chopped off. Why didn't he change his fate is a good question

Perhaps he wanted to feel as if he was part of the story, instead of the author. Maybe he wanted to be the puppet instead of the puppet master. Only after he was dead and no longer apart was when he accepted his role.

I believe Drosselmeyer is insane, but somehow more intelligent then we think.

This is my theory:

Once there was a man whoe could bend reality through his writings. He had incredible powers, but was feared by many.

Although Drosselmeyer could infact bend reality, he could not see into the future. And thus, he never saw the men coming who chopped off his hands. But before this happened, he wrote a story (The Prince and the Raven). In which, he told a tale of a prince who lost his heart to a hideous raven. But since his hands were cut before he could finish the tale, the story was never complete.

But then when Fakir came around, he figured he could use him and did. (Thus in the ending with the :SPOILER: [you know what i mean if youve seen it. XP])

So, I think that all this occurred in order for Drosselmeyer's last story to be complete. However, he was probably frightened of the thought of his story having an ending, thinking he would permantly end with it. So, that's why he didn't want it to.

And yeah. If any of that made sense, let me know XD
