Marry Your Favorite Character Online
I just came across it by accident while searching for some images for another anime that I was collecting. I just think thats weird. Has anyone here done this? I don't know if I would do that or not. Maybe. Afterall, I've been reading the NC-17 yaoi doujinshi I've read online.

I don't think I'd do that... I would feel like too much of a fangirl, and this sounds really close to 'claiming' anime characters, which I hate with such a passion...

Well, it basically is.
I went on that site, and looked around. I find it both funny and quite sad that Edward Elric is the #1 married anime character. (Last time I was there, the lead singer to MCR and Captain Jack Sparrow were above him in first and second place.)
Still, if Ed really did have to marry all the people who applied for him on that site, he'd have over a thousand wives...
and/or husbands.

I looked at the names of people on the list that Ed was 'married' to. Half of the names were like "Edzonlygal" and "*inserttheirroleplaycharacterhere*Elric". Pretty sad. :3

I concur. I've labeled them into a sub-species, also known as 'Fan Brats'.
I have labeled claiming a character as a symptom of Fan Bratism, and have for a long time. I don't think that marrying one is exactly the same, because in that case it's just all in good fun. I think it's fair to say that most of us here has had an anime crush, and it would be funny to 'marry' them, in a fake humorous way. (I, Personally, would NEVER do that though. I have far too much pride as a composed, normal fangirl.)
But some people marry them for the whole claiming aspect. And that's just... wrong.

I used to be a Fan Brat, I almost killed my friend's cousin cause she said Edward was hawt. xd My Fan Bratism days are over now though, and I have accepted the fact, that I do not own Edward Elric ^^ I apologized to my friend's cousin too.
