This will be a battle between Rej and Shadow. The title are their names in Archaic which is a religion that my friend and I are creating and perfecting. Rej and Shadow are both powerful Archaics with a mysterious history and this battle will merely show a small amount of their strength and abilities.

Rej came through the darkened door on the other side. Shadows played around the frame of the large entrance as his form began to materialize from the blackened hole. His unnatural red eyes that surrounded his perfectly circular black pupils teemed with brightness that contrasted to his gothic based figure. His long black hair that reached slightly past his midback was almost silk-like and his perfectly pale face was free of any emotions and designs save for two unidentifiable markings under each eye.

His pupils scanned over the arena as they grew slightly and took in everything. He stopped at the figure in the middle as the word echoed in his mind. :.Spyra'Ava.: Which meant shadow in Rej's native toungue. At a first glance, shadow looked to be no more than 28 to 32 but he was indeed much older than that. Easily a worthy adversary to any that mistook him for a normal mortal, he was feared slightly and known by almost all Archaic. Perhaps almost as Legendary as the "Betrayer" and "Lonewolf" Rej.

Rej took a few steps from the entrance as the mild light filled the large arena. The surface was made of sand but very well packed sand and the circular dome and walls allowed for more than enough fighting room. This match would be a collosal yet undermined meeting of two Archaic Relatives from long ago.

:.Hmmm, he is definitely a Archaic. He also knew the basics of waiting for your opponent to attack.: Rej thought to himself as he took several more strides towards Spyra. After about 5 feet of space left, Rej lept forward at blistering speeds and yet his katana that resided safely within his sheath, remained by his side at all times. Rej would not use a weapon in this fight, or atleast not yet. The Archaic blade the securely remained by his side was known by all Archaics as the single first weapon of the Archaics, followed closely behind by a small dagger that was handed down in Rej's heritage. Rej knew where the dagger resided but knew that it was not for him.

As he neared his opponent, he kicked to the left with a hard thrust of his right foot. He made sure that the front of his black boots dug deep into the sand and when he kicked off less than a second later, he flung a torrent of sand towards Spyra as he careened to the right of his opponent and then kicked off with his left foot to bring himself upon the target. He unleashed his left fist towards Spyra's cheek just as the sand that had been flung a second earlier grew close to Spyra's face.

A small smile appeared on Rej's otherwise statuette visage. A strong burst of immense wind erupted from behind Rej towards Shadow. Rej's power over wind could be manipulated and focused anywhere and he did not need to focuse his hands in a particular spot to command it. The gust of wind held small pockets of compacted oxygen. Severely tightened and sharp enough to cut as if blades.

Rej brought up more wind from the very air itself. He did not even bother to move his body or hands as it formed a barely visable sheet of white between Spyra and Rej and then was flung towards the former. The dim white sheet of compacted air reached from the surface of the sand to 7 feet above the surface. The velocity that Spyra had been coming at Rej with was used against his opponent as well since Rej knew the air would easily blast his target back a dozen yards or so.

The spells that Rej had been slinging as of now were pale in comparison but neccassary to test Spyra'Ava and his abilities.

Rej moved with determined speed backwards as he dodged the small flurry of weakly thrown punches that seemed to be aimed mainly at his midsection. As he twisted and contorted his body to see fit, his black and round pupils grew larger and analyzed the moves of his opponent. Spyra seemed to have his own fighting style but after a conclusion, Rej managed to base his analysis on a solid fact despite the fact that it was still the early beginning of the battle.

Rej had also noticed the change of the environment in more or less the weather. Greyish clouds formed over the now dimmed sun and Rej knew that only a Ascended Archaic could do such a thing and creat such a power.

"Entiristenf"

Rej said in the native Archaic tongue. His voice held no emotion but the accent was quick and precise as a aura of power followed it. The language of the Archaics was severely old and ancient but not only sounded powerful, it sounded fully determined as well. Rej finally decided to launch his own assault now since he had seen a small amount of Spyras moves and had been continually dodging the small flurry.

Rej moved his left hand up as his forearm blocked his midsection and his hand readied to move in for a defensive counter. His right hand did the complete opposite and in a blurring motion, he let loose his right fist towards Spyra'Avas Chin. As this happened and almost immediately upon launching his right fists attack, a strong burst of wind came from behind Spyra and if connected right, would force Spyra towards Rej's punch and make it more powerful as well. Rej had no intention of killing or severely wounding another Archaic though.

The sweep of his enemiesfoot had connected with the inside of his right leg and what would normally make a normal mortal crumple to the ground and cry in pain as he feels the bone tear forth from its hold, merely stopped abrubtly on Rej's own leg.

"Va'iyh"

Rej said emotionlessly as the powerful language surged forth and seemed to burn the air. As always the language held full power and Rej pivoted and turned unexpectingly as he brought the back of his left hand towards Spyra'Avas left cheek in a extraordinary display of speed and power. The very air around his hand seemed to burn away and leave no oxygen. White energy tingled and crackled very little in the wake of the swing.

Rej brought the left hand that he had placed earlier and caught his opponents hand. The immense strength that Rej contained was forced on Spyras fist as it was turned and squeezed. The power applied would crush human skulls like mere cockroaches. Rej flung his right fist up towards Spyras stomach at a speed that matched the last attack. As he brought his right fist forward for the attack, he pulled on his hold on Spyras own hand so the hit would be virtually unoddgable and much more devastating.
