Setting: Specula's Arx - Name means "hope's stronghold". The last and northern most Imbellis Custoses headquarters. The population of this city is almost entirely human, however. Though it is home to Imbellis Custoses members, it gives the appearence of a normal city with a ruling noble. Information on this noble is currently unavailable

Mini Plot/Event: Specula's Arx is a city in the northern landscape protected by a dome from the snow, ice, and chill. However, even with this protection the city is far from being anywhere near self-sufficent. To keep the city running and the people from starving a train runs from the south to the city once a month, bringing in supplies. Because the train only comes at this time, it is a rather big event for all. Those wishing to leave the city usually try to hitch a ride, those coming to the city disembark, and everyone else simply hopes they can nab something to eat. This month's train is pulling into the station and the city is a little more alive then usual. Bring your characters in anyway you choose and have fun. =3

A barren landscape of ice and snow stretched as far as the eye could see. Long, drawn out shadows stretched across the smooth surface, making it appear almost like a void in which life craved to be summoned to. Minutes passed and dips of gold tapped into the edges of the sky. Slowly the color, if not the warmth, spread. Oranges and yellows splattered upon the clouds in a variety of shades and hues. The snow became a reflective white, glaring and sharp. Suddenly, the freezing silence was broken by a cry of metal and of whistles.

A monster wound through the snow, its snake of a body crashing through the white powder. Lights flashed as it flew by within moments to disappear, heading toward a speck on the horizon. As this machine grew closer, it was clear this was a domed city. As quickly as the dome came into clear view it became a huge blur and covered the train as it disappeared within its depths. The snow vanished from sight and run down buildings and dirt streets replaced the ice.

The train slowed, letting out blasts to announce its arrival as it slowed into a run-down and rusted station. Commoners gathered about in huge numbers, but security was more heavy then ever. The Noble's soldiers were everywhere, like a swarm of bees flocking to honey. They were there to prevent any trouble that might break out. Crew me members opened cargo doors and started on matinence from their long trip.

---------

As soon as Nina saw flakes of white pass by her window she knew she had somehow got onto the wrong train. Frustration and anger clouded her senses. Why had she gotten separated from the group of her fellow RAW members? She had thought she had gotten on the right train and would simply meet with them later, but that was obviously not the case. Her eyes narrowed and she slumped in her seat, careful to keep her illusion strong.

As the movement of the train beneath her shifted she peeked out the window again. Steam flowed from the train as it stopped and she was able to see the concrete platform and the swarms of people outside. Her nose was on fire with oily scents along with the overpowering smells of people. Great, a human infested area, just where she wanted to be. She slipped from her seat and quickly exited the craft, her mind racing on what to do and on how she could get in touch with her group.

Tariel had been sitting comfortably on a couch reading a book she had picked up out of a box on the side walk. The paper taped to the box had read "Free books." Her mom came in and excitedly talked about how the train was going to arrive really soon. Tariel's brother almost immediately came out of his room, ready and rearin to go. Tariel, however, was taking her time since she really doesn't like large groups of people all at once. She stuffed her book in her pocket and grudingly followed her other two excited family members. Once they reached the huge crowd at the station, she hung back until she lost them. She would go somewhere more out of the way to avoid contact with others as much as possible. So she sat down on an out of the way bench and pulled out her book. The train pulled up then so she half-read, half-watched as the crowds became even more concentrated and the guards became louder and covered more areas.

Nina wove her way through the crowd, gritting her teeth as she was constantly pushed, squashed, and stepped on. It took much of her concentration to keep her illusion up and hold her temper. The human presence was smothering, suffocating. Shaking her head she pushed through, darting off at a run toward the disembarking gate exit. Upon reaching there she realized it was crawling with something much worse; a noble's soldiers.

Fear and hate spread through her chest and she barely swallowed a growl. Hoping to dart past them and race off into the city before they could truly notice her, she quickened her pace. She darted past one, ignoring their call for her to stop. She was free, she was going to make it out without trouble, she...thump. She felt her body collide with another, a gasp escaping her lips. A tight grip fixed on her arm as she glared up at another of the noble's soldiers.

"We need to see identification and your ticket," he stated sharply, seeming very suspicious of her actions. Her heart caught in her throat and she felt her anger deepen. Stupid human rules, stupid human train, stupid humans!

Jakt sat where he was, for the time being in a sort of dream, he was just listening to the town, waiting for some sort of happening, something to break the thrum of the group before him, some sort of change. The change he was hoping for seemed to come from two places at once, one was the odd feeling of being watched, just fleetingly. The second was more immediate, in the voice of the noble's soldier catching an apparent stowaway.

He raised an eyebrow in his human form and as his true form of a pup, cocked his head as the man demanded ID. He took nothing to do with the event for the time being, having been told already by the elder that drawing attention to himself at this fragile stage of his life meant certain death. Still, some part of himself felt a deep empathy for the girl.

Actually, his concience reminded him, he should be looking out for himself as well as others, his illusion was as insubstantial as mist at this moment in time, a trecherous state to be in. Turning around, he warily scanned the crowd for the source of his previous watched feeling, he spotted Tariel a little way to his left and got the fright of his life, she hadn't been there before. It was actually enough to make his illusion flicker slightly, revealing a tiny pup, ears back in surprise, odd eyes wide.

Few of the crowd noticed however before he corrected his mistake, and of those that did, they told themselves that surely what they had seen was impossible was it not? And that they had better not be going crazy.

Nina had none of these things. She wasn't even sure what exactly a ticket was. It was possible both items were with her RAW mates...but then, they were on a different train in a different place. Without thinking, she shot the soldier a defiant glare and hissed through her teeth, "I don't have 'em, now let go of me you scum bag!"

His brows furrowed beneath his helmet and the soldier tightened his grip and gave her a forceful jolt, "I'm afraid you'll have to come with us on the charges of boarding a train without permission of passage." Puppyish fear and her long burning hatred snapped into action before he could blink. She lashed over and bit into the man's hand, small droplets of blood splashing out. He let go and at that moment so did she, her illusion disappearing as if it never had been. Landing on the ground lightly on four paws she dashed off, her small form disappearing in the crowd of surprised and slightly frightened people.

The soldier grimaced and called for the people to settle down, helping his comrades calm the commotion. Pulling a piece of cloth from his side pack he wrapped his wound. It wasn't that bad, for the wolf had been just a pup and her fangs were not fully grown yet. He let out a sigh. Though he hated the war and wanted peace, little ones like that made it difficult. Just what he needed, another mishap to add to his report.

Jakt's attention was once again drawn back to the conflict between Nina and the guard, she seemed to not be in possession of what he wanted. Wincing Jakt wondered what kind of trouble she could be in with the noble for not having a valid pass.

However, he froze, stunned as she showed her true form, turning to bite the guard! He had never seen anything like it in his life. The elder would never allow such maliciousness to a person doing nothing but their business. The sight exilliarated him and enticed a smirk onto his face, his odd eyes lighting up at the sight.

As she vanished into the crowd, Jakt sought frantically to find her, but she was lost to him amidst the crowds.

Returning his attention to Tariel, he finally spoke, trying his best to maintain his illusion.

"Did you see that? Something just bit that guard! Cool!"

If she could have seen his pup form, his tail was wagging like mad.

Paws scratching against the dirt and stone, Nina race along, finally breaking free of the crowd of people. Once she was no longer dodging feet she let her white, black, and gold colored fur vanish to be replaced once again by the illusion of a short girl with black and blonde hair. She continued to run though, since a few of the soldiers would be sure to know her face as of now.

Pulling out of sight of the station she ducked into an ally and slowed to a walk. Putting a hand to her head, she felt tightened muscles in her knitted brow. Her heart was racing, blood pounding in her ears. A warmth of anger spread through her heart, but it was being cooled by her sense of logic. She had been in trouble enough by just getting on the wrong train...now things were bound to be much worse. She sighed and let her body slide down against the wall into a sitting postion.

Tariel had seen his illusion waver but it didn't change entirely and she shugged that much off. And before it got to the point where he had completly lost his illusion, her eyes were fixed on the commotion. However, she noticed the change out of the corner of her eye but she wasn't concentrating on him so she forgot about it for the moment.

As she watched, the girl stood up to the guard and... Bit him?! wait no... now it was a big dog... But Tariel had almost already reached the conclusion that it was a wolf. But not quite. And before she could know for sure, the "dog" was gone in a flurry of paws and fur into the bustling crowd.

She was amazed that she had seen what she thought was probably a wolf. Her father had told her stories about them but that had been amazing. She now turned back to the boy. Was he a wolf too? She now knew that if that other had been a wolf, it could appear as a human so why not him too since she had seen a little black pup there where he was... Eh, she would probably find out later and if not, it would just be an amusing the to muse over in her spare time.

So she looked him in the eye. "Yeah, I did see that," she said quitely. She glanced over the crowd and thought she saw the girl leaving out a different side of the crowd but that might have been her imagination. Besides, there was this intersting kid right in front of her.

Bane nodded to Tariel and smiled faintly.

"That girl got lucky, the soldiers aren't very lenient around here lately and I don't think they like stowaways."

He didn't say else on the topic really as his illusion held all of his current attention, and that was on top of the fact the wolves were veiled in secrecy as things were anyway. What he did think was that he caught a breif hint of the wolf scent of before leading away from the station, good, she had made it apparently, as no soldiers seemed to go after her.

"I hate this station really, always so busy, yet nothing ever changes, people come in to replace the people that go out, only to switch back around when they realise that the other cities are no different to this one."

Something deep within the male wolf wanted to follow the scent, find out where the female had come from, he had never seen her before and wanted to know how many other wolves were out there in the wilds of the world, in cities beyond his reach.

Tariel nodded solemnly to each statement he made. "Yes," she replies softly. Then she studied his face. He seemed to be concentrating on something, then gazing off into space thinking. His eyes still intrigued her but as he was apparently not paying much attention to her, she mused over whether this boy was a wolf or not, or what he was. So she commented absently, "I'm Tariel by the way."

Nina sat against the wall, her eyes closed and her head leaned back. Her illusion held, though a swarm of emtions swam inside her. Anger was the first and most obvious. It seemed to be an easy emtion for her to hold, for it fed much of her inner fire. Frustration was another, due to her confusion on what she should do in her current situation. How in the world was she to contact her RAW mates? She knew not where to find wolves here and even then they probably wouldn't help her anyway. Each pack to its own was a common rule. She groaned, putting her head against her knees. She should have just stayed on the train.

Jakt gave Tariel a warm smile, showing his pearl-white teeth with their marginally larger than usual canines.

"Hello Tariel, nice to meet you. My name is Jakt, and I apologise for my distraction, it's not every day something like that happens around here."

He nodded, indeed he had never before saw another wolf give away their precence by tranforming in self defense. He had only seen a breif flash of markings on the female, but what he did see was unfamiliar for this area.

"Anyway, it doesn't actually matter. What brings you to the station? Just come here to watch the chaos like I do?"
