so I've read about how to make them, but how do you use them? do you put them into a drink, or put it into something? how do you use tinctures?

Well, I mix them into orange juice. But you can put them under your tongue and absorb it that way, or mix them with water to make instant (and not as good) tea that will give the same benefits.

Indeed. I wouldn't suggest putting Thymus tincture under your tongue ^^;
I guess a certain amount of dripps in a glass of water is the most common use? confused
