Academy Dormitories

User Image

The campus dormitories are where the majority of the Academy students live when they aren't training, eating, or skipping class. All rooms are basic in design, containing the necessities of a desk, bed, appropriate lighting, and shelves for books, knicknacks, and whatever else one can find. Storage space for clothing can also be found in the corner of each dorm room. There is a considerable amount of floor space in each dormitory, allowing ample room for students to stretch before classes. The two bedroom dormitories are a little different in design, containing a common room, or general living space, with the bedrooms located on different sides of the common area. This common area is shared equally by both students inhabiting the room, and contains two desks, and separate bookshelves for either students use. The dormitories themselves open out into the open air corridors going through the building structure. Though covered to offer protection from the elements, the open air hallways are considered a pleasant addition to what might otherwise be considered a stuffy living area.
---------------------------------------

The locations of each students dormitory room will be noted here. Starting at the 100s, and going to the 400s, there are an ample amount of rooms on each floor. Floors 1 and 2 are single dormitory rooms, while floors 3 and 4 are two bedroom dorms. The room numbers listed below are first come, first serve, and more will be added as necessary. To have your name added, please send a PM entitled 'Dorm Room', with the number you are requesting. Edit: Please also add your character's name! I'm getting tired of having to search the thread for your profile to add it! Requests for a shared double bedroom dorm room must be requested by both players if wanting a shared room; and yes, any gender may share the two person dorm rooms.

Flickering torch light illuminated her figure against the dark night as she made her way down the outer corridor leading to her dormitory. She’d only recently gotten settled, and was recounting all of the numbers that would eventually lead her to her own room. Hands were stuffed inside the sleeves of her kimono, her waist length haori fluttering behind her in the breeze. It was a pleasant night, even if a slow rain did fall across the ground below. At her waist, were the twin blades that represented her zanpaktou. One hand gripped the hilts together, her head shaking slightly. They were completely, and utterly silent. This was normal, she had learned. It would take time, and training before she would be able to listen to its voice. Before she would know its name. Or even their name.

She turned as she neared the end of the corridor, stepping down the stairs leading to the third floor slowly. Too many thoughts, and not enough time to clarify everything. Nothing in her head sounded right. Her head turned for a moment, and she paused on the stairs, turning to stare outward at the night sky. It was beautiful. Pale hues of blue and violet, clouds drifting across the sky. She loved this time of evening. One hand ran along the embroidered sleeve of her kimono as she shook her head, and then continued her descent.

Maybe a little training, a little.. Something would fix this issue she was having right now. And if nothing else, it wouldn’t hurt, now would it?

She continued on down the hallway, moving from the third floor to the second, and eventually, from the second floor, to the first, stopping every now and again to listen to the sounds of night that filled the area with their subtle song. This was by far her favorite time of day. She smiled just a little, as she made her way down the final set of stairs. She would head off somewhere that allowed her a little more privacy.

She still had a lot on her mind. Unfortunately, most of what she had, she didn’t feel like sharing. Going from dirty streets and unkempt clothes to a standard issue dorm room, hot baths, warm meals, and clean clothes was a drastic change. She had to remind herself every now and then that she didn’t have to steal to eat anymore. She made her way towards the edge of the dormitory grounds, finding a strategically placed rock to perch on, as she withdrew a handful of strawberries from somewhere on her person.

They’d always been her favorite fruit, but before they’d been such a rare treat. Now, it was something she could have on a daily basis, if she so chose to. She bit into one of the ripe fruits, as a drizzle of strawberry juice trickled down her chin, causing her to reach for it quickly. Wonderful. Messy, but wonderful.

As the last strawberry was devoured, she took a small dark cloth from inside her kimono, and wrapped the tops inside, tucking it away to take with her when she returned to her dormitory. She didn't want to leave garbage laying around everywhere. She leaned back on the rock, propping herself up with her elbows, her haori draped beneath her on the stone, staring up at the stars, past the flickering torches, past the rooftops, and trees.

Daydreaming, or rather, having moments of fanciful thought, were common on a warm, late night. This place, compared to her prior home, was like paradise. She let her elbows slide down, as she fell back fully onto the rock, giving a soft sigh. It was.. nice to relax, and not worry about who would be stalking you for your food next. Very nice indeed.

Tree long weeks have passed since Hiai stared his training outside of seretei under Yamamoto Genryuusai himself. Now wearing the raws of his former uniform the young man open the door to the doors building with his left arm, barely able to move it he opts for pushing the door open with his forearm by pushing forward with his whole body. As he walks in something reaches his nose. The smell of a female body, quiet a change compared to ol' Yama-yi hospital smell. "I wonder...who could this be...I don't recognize the smell, nor do I recognize the reiatsu..." Like a furious gust of win, thought stared to run through his head, killing every memory he had about the training and the goals he wanted to archive. At this moment the pain that ran all over his body meant nothing, the only thing in his mind was the smell of flowers that expired from her body. Not wanting to wait any longer the young man starts to walk at a slow phase trying not to re open his wounds, his mind wanted him to go faster as his heart stared to beat without control. Finally reaching the room where the girl was he starts to sweat and a small weak whisper escapes his lips. "Yo !" Was all he managed to say before falling on his knees breathing harder and harder. He now knew he had passed the limits of his body.

The young woman sat upwards at the sound of heavy breathing, one fine brow raising just slightly as her legs unfolded, and she rose, moving over, leaning down to peer into the young man’s eyes.

“Y'alright? Y'look tired.”, reaching into her kimono, she offered out a small strawberry, one of the remaining ones she had left. “You been trainin'?”

His small eyes close as he tries to regain his breath. His eyes gaze at her with her reflection pierced into them. Giving a small, slow nod he takes the strawberry from her hand before saying: "Training is a nice way of disguising it, but I prefer the term loosing my life to ol' Yama-ji sensei...or Yamamoto Genryuusai if you prefer to call him by his name..." He let his body fall back and so he sits on the ground taking a small bite from the strawberry. "My name is Hiai, honored to make your acquaintance"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 17, 2006 6:35 am

"Getten whupped on ain't trainen, but I guess I can see why yer tired," she nodded, before crossing both legs beneath her, smiling a smile that reached both eyes, honest, and open, her head tipping as she did so.

"I'm Ran. Nice t'meet ya Hiai." she plucked a strawberry from inside her kimono sleeve, and bit the end, trails of juice running down her chin. "Where y'from? I just started Academy. Don't know many folks here yet."

Taking one last bite of the strawberry he smiles softly as he looks at her from head to toe. His eyes were so small that they made it hard to follow its movements, a perfect disguise for a semi perverted person like him. "I agreed, however I can feel how strong I have become by facing Yama-ji...they say fighting a volcano is useless cause you can't kill it, however when you fight a volcano every day other battle start to get boring and easy...guess that is why Yama-ji wanted me to train this way..." Showing his small smile once again he tries to hold himself from saying something stupid, but at his current condition doing so was harder than someone could ever expect it to be. "I'm from the Zaraki region of Rukogai...I stared the academy a year ago, you can say I am still trying to repay Yama-ji for saving my life so long ago...as for not knowing anyone, I am here for you, I don't really have any friends either..."
PostPosted: Tue Oct 17, 2006 6:51 am

She smiled, and offered out another strawberry. He was from far out, like she was. That gave them something in common.

"I'm from Kusajishi. I been inta Zaraki before though. Rough crowd," she stood then, and turned slightly, her haori moving behind her. She actually wore a haori. Then again, even her shinigami uniform was different.

"It was nice meetin' ya. I gotta run. Gettin' late, an' I need sleep." she offered hand down, to offer assist him up, if he should desire it. "But we'll talk later, I bet."

And then, likely after he'd gotten up, she'd turn, making her way back up the stairs leading towards the upper levels. She was headed towards the fourth floor, and the comfort that her room offered.

Taking her hand he quickly stands back on his feet. However before he could even thank her she had already left for her room. "Heh...what an interesting girl...something tells me we will meet again soon, or so I hope...staying alone is a really bad thing...kills one soul..." Looking at his sword he smiles and starts walking back to his room that actually was really close to her own. Only one class reminded before he could graduated from the academy. However his current state made it impossible for him to actually take that class at the moment. Arriving his room in a few minutes he takes off what was left of his uniform and changes into a more comfortable outfit. "I hope the dreams don't return...tonight..." Closing his eyes he falls on his bed roll and quickly falls asleep.

Murmers. Murmers from the crowd as the carriage was drawn up at the front of the dormitory property. A carriage? Who would be in it? It wasn't marked with the symbol of one of the Four Houses..so who could it be? Still, those who knew the houses in Soul Society would recognize the rose mark on the side of the carriage. This was intermediate nobility, Aoibara Clan. While they weren't as famous as the Great Houses, they were counted among one of the most well known noble clans in Soul society, and they certainly stood out..

The students that were in this area murmered among themselves. The ones who were not of noble birth were crowding near the carriage, wanting a glimpse of who the family had sent. Most likely a prodgy, someone who had great skill and power even now..or perhaps a child too violent for the family..but no. As the guards stepped out of the carriage, the person who stepped from it behind them was..luxurious. Sparkling almost, this figure painted a brilliant shade of beauty across the sky itself. So radiant was her smile, it would stop one's breath. So fascinating were her eyes, they would make one's soul skip gazing into them. So graceful was the sway of her body as it moved, it captured the eyes of all the boys and some of the girls. And as she graced everyone with a smile that shone like the gentle sunlight against the morning dew on swaying leaves, spirits would lift at such a thing of beauty.

Now the sad thing is? All those boys are going to be heartbroken when they find out the "her" is a "him". But he's not gonna tell just yet. Oh no. Let them wonder and he'll keep on smiling. Then turning with a nod, the guards enter the carriage, and Megumi's ride pulls away, heading back to the Clan Estate.

Her Shizzyness

PostPosted: Tue Oct 17, 2006 9:09 pm

Iida Kaiya makes her way slowly towards the dormitories. Off to one side, a crowd has formed around a carriage. She dismisses such a thing and trains her focus on the building itself. Her first impression was taken up soley by the size. It was huge. Nothing less than she expected from the Shinigami Academy. Couldn't have their precious nobles living in anything less than the best. She, however, wasn't bitter. Afterall, it meant that she got to live in such nice conditions, as well.

She finally made it into the building. She worried for a moment that the other students would already be in their uniforms. She didn't particularly want to stand out in the crowd. She was dressed in her favorite mode of clothing: from her own era. Her komon was silk as was only proper, though she was given to understand that on Earth now they rarely wore silk kimonos. The basic colors are a deep purple and royal blue. Lavender butterflies dance their way across the fabric. The omi is also a lavender with the same butterflies being blue. She would have worn her Edo komon but felt that it would be far too formal for something so simple as moving in. She sighed as she hefted her luggage up the stairs. What floor was she on again? Ah...the fourth. The highest floor she could get. She grimaced as her mind already raced to envision herself -- extremely sore and tired from training -- hobbling up the three flights of stairs.

She reached her room without too much trouble. She looked curiously at the rooms adjacent to her own. She wondered if she had neighbors. And if she did, would she like them? Would they like her? She shook her head at such childish thoughts. She wasn't here to do anything except become a shinigami. And likely her fellow students would feel the same way. She, for one, had a mission. Her heart softened, and her eyes grew teary. Even after all this time...she still had nightmares about the night of his murder. The night of her death. She paused in the hallway, lost in memories both painful and full of joy; memories that were older than any had a right to be.

The young woman with the unkempt hair was just coming out of her dormitory room, popping a strawberry into her mouth as she walked. Her outfit was formal, yet not. A kimono done in a not so typical style, with a waist-length haori draped over it. A pair of dual swords rested in her well decorated obi, however, she didn't give off much of a noble air. In fact, quite the opposite, the way she moved was very casual, and very much normal. She moved forward to the railing, leaning forward, and down to stare at the crowd gathering around the carriage just before it pulled off.

Another new student, eh? Of course that was to be expected, consdering, you know, this was the Academy. She raised a hand in the direction of the girl that looked like someone had just ripped out her heart, voice soft, with a bit of a.. twang? If you could call it that.

"Yo."

Her Shizzyness

PostPosted: Tue Oct 17, 2006 11:16 pm

"Oh!" Startled, Kaiya's head whipped up, a few tears falling from the sudden movement. Embarrased and blushing, "Forgive me." She gave a small smile that lit up her face. "I am a little out of sorts with the moving and all. My name is Iida Kaiya. It is a pleasure to meet you." She bowed her head slightly in a polite greeting. Kaiya rasied her head, surveying the girl who apparently lived right next door.

She looked to be like any other young girl. Her mode of speaking was a little less...formal. But that might be because she came from a more recent time. Kaiya was well aware of the fact that many considered both her casual dress and mode of speech archaic. However, she was beyond caring for such things. Besides. Hearing the differences helped her to remember others whom she loved who spoke in the same way. She also noticed that the girl wore a slightly different version kimono. Not her own komon. Or even a traditional kimono. Perhaps a new style on Earth? She was dreadfully out of knowledge about the going-ons of her former home. Last she'd heard, there had been a world-wide war, the first of its kind.

Ah! But what was that?! She saw not one but two blades stashed away in the obi of the girl in front of her. Her eyes widened as they caught sight of the swords. She wondered if she knew anything about her zanpakutou as of yet. Kaiya herself was quite clueless. "You're swords...they are both a part of your zanpakutou?"
