For those who are new, this is a must see. I have set up a list of six commandments for you to study. Please enjoy!
I. Thou Shalt Obey The Laws Set By Thine Programmers
Naturally you are expected to follow the Gaian Terms Of Service. If you do anything that gets this guild into trouble, you will be removed. I will not go down just because you did.
II. Thou Shalt Be Literate
Literacy is key for this guild. If you are going to thrive, I am likely to demand a great deal of literacy out of you. Spelling mistakes are entirely forgivable, lack of capitalization and punctuation are likewise, forgive able, but less so. Grammar is a must. If you consistently have grammatical problems so great that it's hard for the other patrons to understand you, you diminish the quality of the role play you join, and you will be removed. I'm afraid that's what must be done.
Chatspeak, 1337, or any other form of online mutilation of language are forbidden in anything other than Out Of Character chat, or in a similarly Out Of Character thread. If you are caught saying 'I wnt 2 tha stor 2 by sum thngs n ran in 2 u,' or some such barbaric use of language in character, you will be removed, unless, as said, it is an Out Of Character speech, in which case you will be pardoned.
III. Thou Shalt Refrain From Becoming A False Idol
God modding, powerplaying, overlording, whatever you may call it or know it by, is strongly discouraged. It is not, however, entirely forbidden. There are going to be 'Mastered' threads, and thus there will be an 'Over lord.' You may also have an auto hit with the hit character's player's permission.(I.E., you want to hit someone, and not end your post, you may ask them on Aim, or in a PM if you can have your character hit them, and continue your post. This is acceptable.)
Death will occur, but this will go by permission only. (I.E., My character is sacrificing a lot of power to kill yours, since we're rivals. Can my character succeed?)
IV. Thou Shalt Not Freak When Thou Canst Not Put In More Words Than Are Necessary
One liners are necessary! If you are in a situation where your character cannot respond reasonably with more than one line, don't worry about it! It happens, and it will actually help the flow of the role play if you do oneline. Admittedly, I would encourage refraining from Onelining, but if you must, you must. However if you ever post something to the effect of 'she looked at him', I will give you only one warning before terminating your membership. That will not be tolerated. If, you some reason you cannot respond to a post with the Characters personality, work that out with your RPing partner.
V. Thou Shalt Make Thine Posts Look Pretty
Please try to use a nice style of roleplaying. If you're terribly attached to the *stars*, the PLAY: style or the ::Colons::, that's all right, but it would be generally preferred if you were to use the "story style" roleplaying, in past tense, and as a narrator, rather than: " I go to the store and open the door. I can't believe my eyes. "Hi, Ruth!" I squeal excitedly. " However that style will be accepted as well. None are refused simply because of their style. It is the content we're after, no matter what package it comes in.
VI. Thou Shalt Not Make Thine Role Play Be Cluttered With Things That No One Likes Anyway! ...Ith...
Please refrain from posting something that's entirely in Out Of Character speech. If you must ask a question, either PM/IM the person, or edit your post back later. If responding to something like this, you should likewise PM/IM the person the response, or Edit your most recent post to put the answer into it at the bottom.
