Ever since the first day that Dhamisa's pregnancy had begun to show, she had been impossibly proud. Knowing that she had been capable of bearing her lord a child to continue his line had been a source of great joy to her. Even the hardships of being such a young mother physically had been taken as tests of endurance by her, tests which she met unfalteringly. After all, her grandmother's line had been of females bred early, mothers for most of their adult lives and her frame, though youthful, was strong.
And so it was that Maluuni was brought into the world, her mother's pride and joy, guarded jealously and named in the tradition of her family, after the cursed mark she bore. Maluuni- damned, cursed, satan - the meanings were chosen carefully by her mother. She was raised to cubhood with the utmost respect for her unseen to her father, the salmon violet stripe along her back testament to where she came from reminders of both Dhamisa's mother and Nyek.
Her amber gaze grew colder and harsher as she grew, a hint of what she would one day be like, and as Maluuni grew, so to did Dhamisa's love for Nyek, a love he'd probably never know of but which sustained the pale mother nevertheless.
Today mother and cub were by the waterhole, Dhamisa relaxing for a short time, Mal charging around chasing insects and whatever else came to paw. Neither, for now, could be happier.

The salmon tinted lord approached the watering hole silently. He had long ago learned how to creap, how to come and go as if he was a ghost, that was his way, the strong silent ghost. He paused for a long, silent moment to watch the duo, the sun playing on pale coats, his golden eyes glimmered softly, watching the bright salmon pink lion which danced down the cubs body, his line, his legacy.
Stepping from the shade wheer he had been watching the dark maned lord padded towards the two, announcing his approach with heavy foot paws, his head high, proud, a king, he didn't even look down to the cub or her mother until he had paused for a drink at the clear pool. Lifting his head he groomed the water from his maw before looking upon the two females golden eyes fixed upon these two little females, his females.
Rolling his shoulders the honey eyed male lay slowly, his mucles bunching, tencing, moving thickly as he did so. Perhaps he was showing off before the two. He knew full well that Dhamisa adored her lord, he could see it in her eyes, the way she moved, the way she bore herself when around him. It truely made him smile. Adoration could be used.
Finally now this little show was over he allowed his gaze to rest upon the cub, a smile playing on his pale maw, those pale, long stained fangs flashing in the sun as he did so. "Speak to me child, what is your name?" he raised a curious brow, flashing a swift look to Dhamisa, a look of approval perhaps, before turning his full attention to the cub in question.

Dhamisa had been daydreaming when she was jarred from her thoughts by the sound of someone's approach. She instinctually tensed, looking around for the source of possible threat to her daughter but was met only by the sight of Nyek, she relaxed instantly, doubting, despite all his other less favourable actions, that the pink king would harm his own daughter. The pale female watched as he sauntered down to the water to drink, taking in the image of the one she had come to adore in all his splendour. Maluuni had come to look so much like him from the moment she had first opened her golden eyes and it pleased Dhamisa. She had sworn to bear him cubs and though she had managed to produce only one, she hoped that someday Maluuni would do her father proud.
She watched with anticipation as Nyek addressed his daughter, smiling to herself at his fleeting look her way.
Maluuni has ceased chasing insects at the big male's approach. aware from her mother that the main male in the pride was Nyek, her father and a lion to be respected. Still, that didn't change the fact she was a cub and the sheer size of him took her by surprise. She stared for a few moments before realising it was probably rude and stopped, looking down at her grey-dipped paws, those copper eyes, mirrors of her fathers only just masking her gladness to see him.
"My name is Maluuni" she spoke without fear or hesitation, her black-tipped tail dancing behind her as she did so. Only then did she look up at him with a broad grin, bowing once "A pleasure to meet you, father."

He smiled gently, or what could be classed as gently, that golden eyed gaze forever hard hiding any feelings from the child before him. He could not be dissapointed. he had not too long ago made peace with the deamon that taunted him and produced him a purely female line. He couldn't help but chuckle at the youngsters boldness, she didn't fear him, but the awe filled look made him bask.
"Maluuni, it is a fitting name." He reached out a huge paw then his claws for once sheathed beneath those jet black toes as he pulled the little cub towards his dark mane. He wished to look over her. Lowering his head slightly his warm breath whispered along her salmon line as he admired it twinkling in the sun, showing the world that she belonged to him even without his carved mark to mar her coat. Tilting his head slightly he admired the mark on her shoulder, Dhamisas mark, her fathers mark, he pondered what the pale, graveyard male would think of this grand daughter.
He held tightly to this child for a long silent moment simply allowing his gaze to crawl over that pale body, the golden eyes, his eyes, then without a warning he groomed along her head, his large rough tongue kssing at the little femme, proudly perhaps. He wanted his cubs to remember him, to carry on his legacy, he knew all too well that at least one of his cubs, disliked him, but this one, this one held awe in her gaze, awe could lead to love just as fear could.
After grooming between the cubs ears for a short time he lifted that honey glazed gaze to Dhamisda, his dhamisa, she belonged to him now more than ever, bearing him a child. Licking his pale lips he spoke quietly to the mother of this his newest cub, his newest child, the newest part of his legacy, she was part of it now, Dhamisa, she had joined the ranks of his royal bearers, it pleased him really, they all fell so easily, soem by fear, some by hatred, some by love. Dhamisa was always an inbetween one, she loved him, he could see that in her eyes. "You have done well Dhamisa" He smirked inwardly, such simple words, "in the future you will most certainly be called upon again."
His attention fled back to his daughter then. "Tell me Maaluuni have you been behaving yourself for your mother, hmm?" he smiled, taking an interest in cubs was not particularily something in the scheme of things, but to keep them from killing him in the future, they had to be noticed.Like all tyrants he feared his successor, Maluuni may one day be that successor, he wished her to watch him live out his days, not to stab him in the back. Keep an interest, his cubs were his legacy, though they were also his threats.

Maluuni did not shy away from Nyek as he drew her nearer, quite the contrary, she went gladly, all the while trying to get a better look at the lion who represented half of who she was, trying to remember everything about him. She had heard from her mother what the black marking on her shoulder meant but had also been told of the pride her salmon stripe should bear with it. She nuzzled the massive head as he groomed her, her little heart full of love and innocent adoration of the lion she wanted to make proud.
Dhamisa simply looked on, positively glowing with motherly pride at Nyek's seeming approval of his daughter, he seemed unconcerned about her bearing the mark of her grandfather and this lifted her spirits greatly. She could only bow her head graciously at Nyek's praise, which to her ears was the highest accolade that could be given to her. "I am always here m'lord" she said with a warm smile.
Mal laughed with a wicked smile "I have to, if I step out of line Mum is quick to make sure I don't again." She didn't seem to mind this strict way of life though, simply because it was what she knew.

Nyekundu smiled. He was not surprised that dhamisa would be hard, even on her own cubs. She was braught up by his rules after all, fear, hatred, desepline. These were things to be respected. "Your mother raises you well Maluuni" He whispers admireing the youngster once again. she belonged to him, as Dhamisa did, but in a different way, she naturally belonged to him.
Of course, the salmon line made him think he would certainly need to bring a couple of young males in to his pride. Without them he would find the pride inbread. Not good. He licked his lips distastefully a little snarl turning his lips. He wouldn't allow it to happen.
He let his gaze wander the land around him for a moment before his dark golden eyed gaze fell upon Dhamisa once again. "You will bare me many fine children Dhamisa, you have done me proud." Simple words, simple lies.He knew full well he could be hard on his little genetal, but it would be pointless, he had long ago pummeled loyalty only to him in to her. Lowering his head to his newest daughter he whispered in to her ear. "You'll be good for me too won't you maluuni." his voice was low enough that only the young cub could hear his question, and perhaps the threat which lay beneath it. She too muct be loyal to him, she must.
