Here are some easy step by step guides to making your own role play, character or other miscelenious threads you may want to make. As this is a Guild I have high hopes for I would like to keep it tidy.

Making your new character.
For a making a character there are a few ways to do this. Depending on the RP different things will be expected of you in creation. I will make this guide reasonably short so that you have more time to read the particulars of the RP in question.
Step one, Character concept. Who is you character? Is he/she a fighter, a shy, reclusive person, a drama queen? This is a basic trait that must be decided on to make a decent character.
Step two, Appearance. This is a rather unimportant character feature that is often over valued. It can be fun, however, and it could be part of your Character Concept too, so it can be more important sometimes than others.
Step three, Name, Age and Race. These are somewhat important traits, each varying in value. Name is only important to the players, so if your character doesn't have a name, at least give yourself a narrative name.(I.E., "I don't have any name," said Hubert truthfully. He really did have no name.) And it doesn’t need a name like Hubert, it could just be something like ‘nameless’, or ‘the shadow’, or something. That’s all right to, as long as you have some way to refer to yourself in narrative.
Step four, History and Background. This encompasses all their skills that they have learned, and why, and this is a very important thing to think over before adding your character to an RP. So your character knows how to use a sword really well. How did he/she learn? How did that affect his/her life? Were other people jealous, awe-inspired or did they really not care? Did they even know? This is an important thing to think about. Also your character's personal ticks and petpeves can be explained away here. "Marty is really afraid of mice because when she was a little child her parents never believed her when a giant mouse wrecked her room." That one's a little far fetched, but you understand the basic idea.
Step five, Personality. This is the most important thing to understand. This is what is left to make after you've made your concept, history, name, age and race. The funny thing about this is that you don't need to put this on a sheet. If someone asks for your characters personality on a character sheet you have my permission to put down 'you'll see' on that sheet instead, because it really doesn't matter what they see. Their characters will have to find out anyway. But this is the sole most important attribute to a character, so even if you don't put it into words, you have to understand it.
Step six, Strengths and weaknesses. This is an important thing to add into any action based RP. If your character is going to get into fights, or even be around them, they need some weaknesses so that they don't Powerplay. They don't have to have any strengths, but I find it's more fun to play when your character is capable. You may have to put these on your character sheet, or you may be allowed to keep them to yourself, but it's best to make them, at the very least, so that you know when you're being beaten.

For playing your character it's important to know what's what, so here I made the 'Scenarios' section of my guide. It will probably never be done, and I'll probably always add to it, but it's here all the same.
The evil character scenario. For instance, another character's profile says they're evil. Don't mistrust the evil character without cause! This is one form of Godmodding, and it is unacceptable. If, however, your character has an unreasonably good intuition as one of your strengths, then it is all right to have some inclination that this person is evil. If your character is a telepath you may also know, and you may act on that. There are several exceptions to this one, and I have shown you a few, but as said before, don't let your character know things without cause.
The fight scenario. So your character(lets call them 'Dylan') and someone else's character(Ramón) are fighting. Well, that probably isn't unusual to you, if you're a seasoned RPer. However if you start looking at Ramón’s sheet to see what his/her weaknesses are, then you're powerplaying! Have Dylan find out, rather than cheating. you have to allow yourself to lose a fight every now and then, otherwise no one else can win, and then where's the fun?

For making Roleplays in this guild I would like you to read this before hand.
Step one, find the right forum. What kind of RP is it? Slave? Original? Series? Mastered? What? This is an important thing to decide. If you're not sure where to put your RP because it doesn't fall under and particular category, then don't worry, PM a Guild Mod, and we'll help you figure it out.
Step two, the world. If this is a series related then this one is really easy. If it's an original, though, then it's very hard to make it work right without locations. Supposing you just tell them the history of the world, how will people know where to be? That's why locations are so important. Suppose there's a lake, a town, a forest, and a hell dimension all right next to each other, and you know that, but your fellow players won't unless you tell them. If you make a few starting locations for people to just hand out in you can be places, and see people, and not have to wonder where the hell the other people are so much, nor will you have to actually belooking for someone to find them.. Also, travel time is an important thing to have clear. Say the lake, the town, the forest and the hell dimension are all about half an hour away from each other on foot. It's good to get that clear so that people aren’t suddenly in the town from the hell dimension..
Step three, the plot. This is an all-important factor for all RPs. What are your characters trying to accomplish? Is it just a romance, so everyone should pair off? Are they trying to get revenge? Save the world? Dominate the world? Get a degree in art, or science? This is a very important thing to decide. Without a direction to go, an RP will fall apart very quickly.
Step four, timeline. Is this RP in the future, past, present, where? It's important to specify for your characters, because otherwise a lot of players will be playing their defualt, which is often medieval, or futuristic, rather than what you orricinally intended.
Step five, restrictions. What will you not allow in your RP? Elves? Mages? Pigmies? Spinach? Please be clear about that, so that the players can make their characters accordingly.
Step five, the Sheets. Everyone who wants to enter your RP will fill out a sheet for you. It's your job to set up a sheep that has all the information on it that you think you need. Be it height, weight, hair color, how much ham they can eat in one sitting, it doesn't matter as long as you collect the information you need. This is a sheet that you'll set up for people to give you what needs to be known within your RP. Don't make it too difficult, or too lax. Gauge it for the level of RPer you want to have join.
Step seven... This could be the most important step, so don't you dare forget it. Have fun! That's what RPing is all about!
