Put simply -> Use the Z button for aerials.
I spent a week learning to SHDF with Marth using the A button cause there was no way in hell I'd be able to get my thumb to the c-stick in time, and nothing came to fruition.
But then I remembered something being said about using the Z button to do the first Fair of the SHDF.
After only 5-6 hours of practice over three days against lvl 1 cpu's I was able to SHDF like it was nothing, and then I started using Z to shuffl other attacks. Did someone say repeating wavelanded bairs with Doc?
It's so good to use when you aren't in a position where you're worrying about having extremely good DI (Like during mindgame rallies).
Maybe I'm just too slow with my hand, but at least I've found a way to compensate.

I find C-sticking and the a button just as easy. It feels akward moving my thumb up as well. I've got into the habit of wavelanding with my doc.

Lol, i use the Z button all the time for nairs with shuffling, but i can never seem to use it for marth's double fair. Dunno why i just never can do it. It never really bothers me anymore cause i play roy better than marth. I just like the way he plays with L-canceling.

z button is too weird for me. I need to feel my finger pushing it in, with the gcn controler z button I dont really feel as though I've pushed it in or not, so I dont really like using it that often. that's just me though.
I can allready do all my arials w/ a/cstick so it hardly matters to me. I mean unless z can help me to do drill infinates I really dont see me using it instead of a/cstick

I can't use Z. Besides, it breaks the quickest of all the buttons. First it's really stiff, then it gets too loose.

Also the taunting........ Wait, that didn't even make sense to me.
Uh, Arc? I was wondering how you found double fairing with Marth so hard. I played my marth again this sarvo and its really not that difficult. Then again I do play doc meaning I button mash really well. (y'know the recovery and all) I actually found it harder using the z button.

I can't move my thumb from X to A quick enough. It's easier for me to go from X, and use my index finger for Z. It's near instantaneous really. Like JC grabbing with X/Y and Z

Man, when i'm U-airing with Falcon, I can pull off a uair way faster by going from X to A.
Maybe it's different with other players.
