I didn't see this elsewhere on the forum, but then, I'm fairly blind... So please forgive me if it's present and in glowing red, sparkly letters, because I still missed it! Anywho...

Have any of you watched the animated 24: DAY ZERO online? If not, just go here:

http://www.degreemen.com/men/dayzero/?&siteid=d0

I saw the first episode and was put into a laughing fit. Also, they used Kiefer's voice.

Season 7 suspended indefinitely until the Writers' Strike is over. Hopefully the strike will get over and 24 will air in January.

I saw that 24: day zero. It was weird. It's funny to see Jack as a cartoon character, and Nina also. bizarre.

IS TIME RUNNING OUT FOR JACK BAUER?
Assuming Jack Bauer lives through Day 7, the eighth day of 24 may be his last. The contract of the actor charged with bringing Bauer to life, Kiefer Sutherland, expires after the eighth season and, according to Entertainment Weekly columnist Michael Ausiello ("24 exclusive: Kiefer Sutherland calling it a day?" Jan. 26, 2009), the actor is beginning to take a closer look at his on-screen alter ego's future.

"Whether season 8 is the end or not, I don't know," Sutherland told the magazine. "I love making the show, so I'm leaving my options open. And in all fairness, I think the audience will dictate that more than anybody."

With strong ratings and ongoing discussions about a 24 film franchise, don't expect to see the eighth season - or any - to end with Jack Bauer in a body bag. Whether the groundbreaking series will continue beyond next season, however, remains a mystery.

BATTLE BREWING?
No series elevates stress and violence to an art form quite like 24, but fans should brace themselves for the most intense showdown the series has ever seen when Chloe (Mary Lynne Rajskub) meets Janis (Janeane Garofalo. "Chloe is not going to be happy when she rubs up against her FBI counterpart," Rajskub reportedly told TV Guide's Matt Mitovich. "We do face off and those were some of my favorite 24 scenes to play." Look for the face-off later this month.

just a little news for ya.

LONGTIME 24 PRODUCER/DIRECTOR EXITS
After failing to come to terms on a new contract, 24 executive producer/director Jon Cassar – a man 24 star Kiefer Sutherland has referred to as being “crucial” to the success of the series – has left the series after six seasons

ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY WAR ON TERROR
In an effort to cut pollution, executives of 24 are taking steps to make the series the first ever "carbon neutral" TV production. In addition to cutting the amount of fuel usage, the production has started using biodiesel to fuel trucks and generators, incorporated hybrid vehicles for transportation, installed motion monitors in bathrooms and kitchens to make use of lighting more efficient, and hired a consultant to monitor carbon dioxide output.

The initiative began in the fall of 2007 and has, to date, led to a 43 percent reduction in carbon emissions.

"This is a passion project for us at 24, and we're amazed by how much we were able to achieve this past season in terms of conserving energy and reducing carbon emissions," says executive producer Howard Gordon. "But now the really important work begins, which is to inspire our audience to make changes in their own lives."

This does not mean, however, that Jack Bauer will be chasing terrorists on a bicycle - to offset carbon emissions resulting from high-speed car chases and other explosive special effects and stunts, producers will purchase carbon "off-sets" from wind power plants in India to make up for the emissions expended in such cases.

"If we've needed a car chase, we've had a car chase," Gordon told World Entertainment News network (WENN). "Our obligation is first and foremost to the fans. If we have budget cuts and need to save money then we'll have fewer car crashes."

"No one is kidding themselves that viewers want to see Jack Bauer stop in the middle of an action scene and deliver some line about the environment," 20th Century Fox Television chairwoman Dana Walden told WENN. "(But we hope it will be) a more gratifying viewing experience, even if it is at a more subconscious level."

ON THE EIGHTH DAY
It shouldn't come as a surprise to fans of 24, but the show will return for an eighth season/ "We're gearing up for a May start date," 24 executive producer Howard Gordon told E! online. "I'm with the writers now just putting our heads together, coming up with an idea. Unless we fail to come up with an idea that's satisfactory, you'll see an eighth season." Gordon also hinted that Season 8 could be Jack Bauer's last: "We may decide ultimately if there's not a movie [story] worth telling, Jack may see his last day on television," he said. "He could die in the series. I think that's possible."

Jack will be back for 24's eighth season.

Kiefer Sutherland says he will stick with the Fox drama, and that it's up to the writers to determine how long the show will air, according to The Associated Press. Sutherland said his decision to return for Season 8, which will start shooting in May, was out of respect for the show that revived his career.

"If I was going to liken 24 to a girlfriend, 24 has been really good to me," he said. "And I need to be really good back."

Sutherland said he has other projects he would like to work on, but that his iconic character remains his top priority. "I was so fortunate to be part of something like 24 that my focus is still on that right now," he said.

As for how many days 24 has left: "The real pressure is placed on the writers," Sutherland said. "It's a real question about how much they feel they can give and what they can do."

Sutherland, who can next be heard in this weekend's 3-D animated movie Monsters vs. Aliens, said he enjoyed the change of pace of doing a kid's flick, and isn't worried about being typecast in Bauer-like roles in the future.

"I will do the work I want to do and people can accept it or not," he said.

Are you pumped to have Sutherland on board for another year?

Thanks Kalpini

ON THE EIGHTH DAY…
It shouldn’t come as a surprise to fans of 24, but the show will return for an eighth season, and filming will begin in May. The series star, Kiefer Sutherland, says a ninth season and beyond is also not out of the question as long as the writers continue to develop compelling ways for Jack Bauer to save the country.

"The real pressure is placed on the writers. It's a real question about how much they feel they can give and what they can do," Sutherland said during a press conference to promote his latest film, Aliens vs. Monsters. "If I was going to liken '24' to a girlfriend, '24' has been really good to me. And I need to be really good back."

Sutherland adds that beginning filming in May rather than August will give the writers extra time to tweak scripts if needed.

NO TIME FOR LOVE
Jack Bauer and FBI agent Renee Walker were reportedly going to lock lips this season, but producers cut the smooch from the script, says E! Online’s “Watch with Kirsten.”

“In the script after episode 10, when I slap Jack, there was a kiss written into that episode, but they took it out of the script last minute,” Annie Wersching (who plays Agent Walker) told the website.

“We thought it was a little clichÈ for that moment in particular,” she adds. “And besides, I don’t know I want a romantic storyline with Jack. Isn’t that usually the kiss of death for a character involved with him? It doesn’t usually fare well to be in a relationship with Jack Bauer.”

Little tidbit, "Bill" (James Morrison) will be appearing on at least the last few episodes of Private practice. mrgreen
(It's top secret but I saw a early screening of the finale.)
It's odd to see him in street clothes being non-lethal but he's kinda cute. whee
(His hair is much longer.)

Jack Bauer Is Gunning for NYC Next Season

He who takes a big bite out of global crime soon will take a bite out of the Big Apple; A Fox spokesperson confirms that 24's eighth season will be set in New York City.

Now, before you go buy bus tickets and only add to the glut of tourists who make evening walks through Times Square rather frustrating, know this: The Fox series will shoot the majority of its New York City scenes in Los Angeles, though hopefully with greater believability than Seinfeld did with its pristine and sun-drenched sidewalks.

Kiefer Sutherland will, though, lens a few establishing scenes here and there in Manhattan, to be spliced in throughout Jack's next very bad day.

24 starts up production on Season 8 at the end of May, with an eye on a January 2010 premiere.

DAY 8 COMING TO DVD
The current season of 24 is slated for a May 19 release on DVD. Day 8 is also expected to be available in high definition on Blu-ray next month. It will mark the series' first foray into the format.

SLUMDOG STAR COMES TO 24
India superstar Anil Kapoor, who shot to fame in the United States as the host of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire in the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, will reportedly join the cast of 24 next season as an anti-terrorist agent. Reports say Kapoor will be Jack Bauer's Indian counterpart.

DEATH WATCH
Entertainment Weekly columnist Michael Ausiello reports that two characters will not see the eighth day of 24. Of course, anyone who's seen 24 knows that not everyone gets out alive. Series star Kiefer Sutherland, however, tells Parade.com that the biggest impact of the series finale will not be from a bomb.

"It is going to end with some of the characters going through a very difficult emotional dilemma which will be much more dramatic than a big action sequence," he says. "I believe that it's the most powerful important ending that we've ever had to a season."

24 COMES TO BLU-RAY
High-Def Digest reports that the current season of 24 is expected to be available in high definition on Blu-ray beginning in May. It will be the series first foray into the format.
