The Different Love

They confess,
Love is neither large nor small,
Love is the great things we see in all,
It is in the small things we see it,
Yet we protect it so,

They sigh,
Love is as sacred as the morning sky,
Yet we never see it in our lover’s eyes,
Some say love is not found in the soul,
Because they find it yet so cold,

They weep,
Love is more painful than a dagger through the heart,
The killer is masked through a lover’s breathe,
Yet it should not wear any mask,
Because the victim is blind and deaf,

They cry,
Love is a disease that infects the heart,
But it does not spread like the pox,
It infects and leaves scars,
And we hope for a vaccine to heal itself,

But they say,
Love is as infinite as the cycle of life,
It rotates in and out of our lives,
Love is as unpredictable as the weather,
Yet we see it as simple as a feather,

We wait,
For love is as radiant as light itself,
Or as dark as the abyss of the night sky,
We choose the path to make it right,
For we choose the path to dawn
