Username: shizuka_kage Posting: When I have time, of course
Name: Iida Kaiya Clan: Peasant Age: 157 (appears 19) Gender: Female Rank: Academy Student
~Appearance~
Height: 5'2” Weight: 105 lbs Hair: Kaiya has straight, black hair that falls to her knees Eyes: Her eyes are a deep brown Clothing: Kaiya wears the normal shinigami uniform in the Soul Society with a few subtle changes. Her neckline is extremely low to show off her abundance of breasts – something she is very proud of. The entire outfit is black, including the sash. In the mortal world, she wears provocatively tight black pants. Her shirt is also low-cut and a deep purple in color. Physical Description: Kaiya has an athletic build with a toned body and strength that belies her small stature. Her skin is tan and mostly flawless. She has a small birthmark on her left thigh. Background: Kaiya started her life near the end of Japan’s Tokugawa shogunate. Her father was a member of the shinsengumi’s forces. While she, her mother, and her younger brother lived a sparse existence in Kyoto, her father was fighting the dreaded shogunate in an attempt to do his part for the Reformation. For awhile, Kaiya was happy. She missed her father terribly, but life moved on. He stopped by occasionally to visit, and she grew used to his long absences. It wasn’t until Kaiya was nineteen that the war increased in its ferocity. The shogunate forces took control of Kyoto on January 3, 1868. While they were there, some of the soldiers got bored. Kaiya left the house later that evening to fetch her brother from their aunt’s house. On their way back, three of the Shogun’s men met her and her brother in an alleyway. Her brother, already indignant from having to suffer the invasion, spouted off about their father defeating them in battle. Without any hesitation, one of the men unsheathed his sword and cut her brother’s throat. Shocked beyond words, Kaiya stood there staring at her brother’s lifeless body. Slowly, she got to her feet. As the man was distracted – laughing and about to sheath his sword – she grabbed it from him. With one swift motion, she stabbed him in the gut. A quick, sickening twist; and his blood poured onto the ground to mix with her brother’s. The two remaining soldier’s ended her life quickly as she stood there, totally numb. Once in the Soul Society, Kaiya searched desperately for her little brother. For several decades, she had no hope. Recently, she decided to join the shinigami academy in order to expand her area of search. She hopes that as a shinigami, she’ll have a better chance of locating her brother’s soul in the Soul Society. Personality: She is usually very friendly and has an excellent work ethic. She’s determined to excel in the academy. She has a special fondness for children and young boys around the age of twelve. She has a very strong sense of justice but has a very strong mischievous streak. She’s not very fond of authority with no reason. She’s really a very logical person. If you can supply a decent reason, she can supply effort. Other: Her one and only weakness is her intense love for strawberries.
~Zampakutou~
Zanpakutou name: Kouki Ian -- “Final Solace” Zampakutou Call: “Hear me; send these souls to their eternal peace.” Zampakutou Appearance: Kaiya has an unusual zampakutou. She actually has two blades, one for each hand. There is a silver handle attached to each of the crescent shaped blades. The blades extend forward about six inches to form a handguard then sweep back to the elbow to protect the entire forearm. These blades are perfect for stabbing and decapitating the enemy. (pic coming when I can find someone good enough to draw it) Zampakutou Type: Kidou/Fire Zampaktou Soul: There are two souls in Kaiya’s zampakutou. They are twins. In its normal form, Kouki Ian is actually split into two blades with one twin for each blade. The twins are girls whose names were Mika and Kyoko. They normally appear to be in their early twenties wearing outfits that seem to represent night and day respectively. Shikai: (Shikai form appearance) Zanpakutou Abilities: (Abilities your Zanpakutou obtains after release. They must be approved by the crew) Bankai: (Name of your sword in Bankai) Bankai Appearance: (New form of your zampakutou) Bankai Powers: (Self explanatory, what powers does your bankai have)
Techniques and Magic:
Zanjutsu Techniques: ((Sword techniques you created, anything is possible as long as it is on the limit of your powers and your zampaktou. You must provide a description of the technique once you create it.))
Hakuda Techniques: ((If you know any hand to hand combat skills post them here. You must provide a description of it too.))
Kidou: ((Demonic magic you have mastered. If it is a created one you must describe it here as well.))

Dearest Yukio,
I know that when I finally find you, you'll want to know all about my life here in the Soul Society. So to make it easier for myself (I was always rather that way, wasn't I?) I've decided to just write you letters everyday. Just as if you were going to get them. Of course, you will get them eventually. And when you read them, I know we'll both laugh and cry and all of that. And so, here is my first letter. On my first day in Seireitei, I moved into the dorms. It was pretty nice. I'm on the fourth floor though, which probably won't be much fun after practice. Can you imagine walking all the way up those stairs?! Oh! I also met a classmate of mine. Her name is Hana Ran. She's a really nice girl. And guess what! She has a daisho based zanpakutou, too! It's the first one I've seen since coming to the shinigami academy. I think she knows a little bit more about hers than I do. So maybe she can help me with mine, too. I had my first strawberry since that day that Father brought the two bushels home. Remember? We ate them until we were both sick! And Mother got so mad because of all the red stains on my kimono. My first class was Zajutsu, but I was a bit late. The instructor didn't seem to mind. He was testing all of students one by one. We had to try and land one hit on him. If we managed, it was an automatic pass. Not many people did it. I think only one boy passed automatically. Well, it's late; and I have to be up early for Zanjutsu again. I'll write you another letter tomorrow.
Yours, Kaiya

Dear Yukio,
The most wonderful thing happened today! I found the perfect place for training that you've ever seen! It's in the middle of the forest . I know that seems like a long ways, but it's not so bad. And it gives me alot of privacy. The meadow is sort of oval-shaped. The length is about a hundred yards. The width is maybe two-thirds of that. I'm really excited! The wildlife doesn't seem to mind me being there. They simply ignore me. There are flowers growing in some places, but best of all! Strawberries cover the entire meadow! It's one big strawberry meadow! I decided to name it. And you know how unoriginal I am, so it's name is Strawberry Fields. Don't laugh, as I know you want to. It's very fitting, I think.
I brought lots of things in to make training there easier. I managed to procure several large wooden posts from one of my contacts in Junrinan. He was pretty insistent on the payment though. This man is very self-centered, as most of the inhabitants have become. It's downright sad, Yukio...I hope that you ended up in a better district than I did. I try not to think about what conditions you might be living in. It's too painful. But this is supposed to be a happy letter! So I'll tell you some more about what I brought in. I managed to find some mats that someone was going to throw away. They're going in a corner of the field. The mats are going to be perfect for any type of tumbling I decide to do. Or if I find someone to spar with. Right now, though, I don't want anyone to know about my secret spot. I also brought in a stand with wooden swords. I figured they were always handy to have. And no, my zanpakutou is not a sword at all. Or even two swords. But I'll explain that later. I just think it would be beneficial to have them. It seems that Father's sword training won't be wasted on me, after all.
I went to Zanjutsu class again today. It was fine. The teacher continued testing the students. I grew bored. I kept thinking about my meadow (which by this time was ready). So...I left class early. Ran was in the middle of her fight with the teacher, but I didn't want to waste time. He probably still won't finish the rest of the students by today. And I wanted a chance to actually train. I think it's positively foolish for a student to go up against the teacher. Of course, we're not going to win! That's why we were there! To learn! Not be beat up on. But I didn't share these sentiments with the class. I thought it better to just leave without saying anything. Now don't scold. I'm the oldest, that's my job!
I trained for several hours on mostly physical stuff. I'll tell you all about it in the next letter. I'm really tired and need to get some sleep.
Yours, Kaiya
