discuss everything about ayreon in here. ayreon is one of my favorite bands, mosty because of the uniqe sound on every album and the great amount of vocals on every album 3nodding i heard some unofficial interview with arjen, where he says that he is working on a new ayreon album. but he didn't say anything about the vocals, style or release dates. www.arjenlucassen.com 21-11-2006 - Arjen's next project Finally, we are able to bring you some news about Arjen's next recording project. At the end of September 2006, Arjen’s new studio was finished and ready to use. The very next day, Arjen went in with his trusted little tape recorder, and papers with dozens of song ideas that he’d been working on for the past year. He has been in his studio nearly every day (and night) since then, getting the ideas translated into songs. The musical ideas are so extremely varied that only one project could possibly hold them all: Ayreon. Arjen has already been in contact with some very interesting and talented people to help create a new dimension of the Ayreon Universe. Of course, we'll keep you informed on Arjen’s progress over the next months! update 05-03-07: arjen said in an interview that he is depressed. he got divorced and he lost the abilletie to taste and smell. so the new album is going to be very different. he is planning to make only 1 cd this time with longer sons then before (more epics). ayreon is going to be more heavier then before! arjen got a 7 string ibanez and he liked it very much, so we could expect that on the new album. and arjen wanted to make a more darker atmosphere on this album. it's back an concept albums and it's going about space.

The first album I heard was The Human Equation. It took me a couple listens, but after that I was hooked. I haven't really heard a lot of his other stuff (I haven't really given it a chance, just giving it a once-over) but I do like Stream of Passion as well. 3nodding

i think you should try some other albums, because they are all totally different smile

yes, the last song is really good. the last minute is just amazing, maybe the best part of the album. but them you get that weird end that ruins it a little. i don't like it to be honest..

That's quite true, before I heard this album I was not big on female vocals at all. It was my pet peeve sort of thing.
Now, I'm trying to expand my listening to bands with female vocalists, it no longer irritates me as such.
Strange, I know.

i still prefere a male vocalist, even after ayreon. but with some bands i think its good that they have a female vocalist.
and with the human equation i liked the female voices over the male voices. (exp. the father, he is just so damn good)
