What are everyone else's thoughts? Have you ever had a parent, child, or sibling die?

Wow, that was awesome. It was so heartfelt and made my eyes water. It was very well written and the emotions touch the reader.
I've never officially lost a sibling, and I've never lost a parent. My friends, however, lost their father a couple of months ago and that was really horrible watching what they went through. I'm really sorry for your loss.

Thanks. Yeah, it's really hard to be the friend of someone with a loss too. Because that's really a loss for you too. But, as it says in the poem, I don't remember Joel, so the saddest part for me is that I'll never get to know him, and not so much the loss, I guess.

crying It was aswome. I haven't lost someone like a parent or sibling, but i lost my great aunt a year ago. She was the only family i would ever take claim to on my mother's side. Mary-Emily was an awsome woman, and it is sad she is gone. But my condolenses

Thanks. I know it can be just as difficult to lose someone who's not closely related to you, but I didn't include it in my poll.

I. . . It. . . I. . . I'm at a loss for words. I think that's a really awesome poem. Over the past year I had two people who I was really close to die six weeks from each other, my grandpa and my uncle. That is moving and impactful and I . . . It's awesome. Great job.

Yeah, it was. I'm still not really over it. I wrote poems about both incidents, but they both suck. I tried pretty hard to let my feelings flow into beautiful words but they were ugly times and the poetry was horrible, but I love them more than my good poems because they mean more to me.

I know what you mean. Often times that happens to me too, when I try to write a poem, especially about something I'm still emotional about. This poem is pieced together out of all these ideas that I got over a span of about a week. I just thought a lot about how I felt, and what I could say, and eventually managed to put it all together into a poem.
