Well, I am trying to make myself better in the advanced world, and I was wondering why and when I should DI up. Should I use both sticks when doing it? What is a good way to practice?

A good question. The only time I can think to DI up is when recovering with either Doc, Falcon or Ganon as the more height you have the further horizontal you can go. The primirary time to do it is as soon as you get hit. If you smash the stick in the direction you want to go just as your hit you should be going mainly in that direction.
I myself just use the control stick, not sure If you can use the c-stick. I'll ask Arc when he gets on.

Guide to DI.That has a lot of useful info, but I can't seem to DI up efectively, although it says DIing perpendicular saves lives, I can't do it myself.

Actually I think I get it now, the point is to do it when you are able to survive with that DI so you can come back on the stage easier? Maybe.

That sounds about right. Arc will post here when he's on. He knows alot more about the theory then I do.

Yeah, same, that's why I wanted to know how to do it so that I could practice.

Smash DI - Smash the stick in the direction you want to DI in an instant before being hit and you'll get the maximum DI possible immediately. At least I'm sure that's how to understand it.
Can't you C-stick buff it though?

Can't you C-stick buff it though? ASDI (Automatic Smash DI) is using the C-stick, which overrides the control stick movement. There are obvious contingencies with ASDI, but I haven't done the frame-by-frame testing, so the complexities aren't something I lose sleep over.

Or from just being hit from the ground. I suppose I should just test it myself in training mode.
