I was reading through my Bible again and got thinking about Heaven...or atleast the concept. And I started thinking, Heaven is supposed to have apsolute perfection. SO I got to thinkking about the government in heaven.
Well, perhaps not a government, we really wont need one. But...I was thiking that Heaven would be like a commune. Every thing you need you will have, you really wont want because you'll have what you need and be satisfied. As well, the same will go for everyone else there. And things will most likely be freely shared. I'd expand on this, but my mind is kinda fried form tryign to think about it all, what do you think (I understand not every one beleive int he concept of a christian heaven, or perhaps not even an afterlife)

Well, in my belief... heaven is the type of society that Karl Marx envisioned with the only difference being... people don't die, people have much more than they need, there is a God, and we'll never get tired or feel sadness.
I personally think it's like the feeling I had when I was 5 years old, and I just laid out in the sun watching the clouds. I could do that for an eternity... I could still do it now.

The sernity of it, thr tranquility and peace of mind it brought. Id give almost anythign to be 5,6, or even 7 again...the innocence and ignroance...it realy is bliss.
To each according to their need...I can see what your getting at, but heaven is supposedly a place of perfection. There would be no need. Still, every thign would be provided for you, without having to actualy work for it.

Hey, Christ said, "like a child."
Lol... I don't care how mature people think they are, if you're not like a child, you won't enjoy heaven. cool

If Heaven exists (personally I'm doubtful) why would it need a government? In any case, God would just be in charge.
Speaking personaly, I don't see the point in Heaven. When you go to Heaven, all of your earthly relationships etc. are discarded. It's not like you can spend forever with your loved ones, because you'll have forgotten about them. What do you do in Heaven then, build new ones? I'm probably a bit sketchy on the details of Heaven (having not read the Bible in a while (damned small print)) but that part of it sticks in my mind.

Heaven is described only as a paradise, wiht not much detail about whats actualy in it. Heaven inmy personal opinoin, is an existence with and along side God, forever in His light and never away from Him. Now, the structure of Heaven? I personly feel Heaven is a gregorian paradise, much like the Garden of Eden was descirbed in Genises. Always a perfect tolerable temperature, always abundent in food, always abundent in water or various other drinks. A perfect existence to spend time untill God's reighn on earth and then the eventual burning of earth to make way for the new absolute perfect creation.

lol... I have never heard that you forget about your loved ones. I highly doubt that that's what's supposed to happen.
Personally, I don't think it's possible to describe Heaven. Because any definition would be insufficient. Personally, I've always thought that it would get boring doing the same thing all the time, even if that thing is the most awesome thing that could ever happen to you. But it can't get boring, because it's Heaven. So I figure it's just not possible to imagine, or describe. It's just that awesome.
As far as structure or government, I don't think there would be one. Why would Heaven need one? All needs you have, which would be very few if any, would be automatically taken care of, and no one would ever be in a "killing mood," so there would be no need for laws or rules or leaders.

Perhaps I shoudl rephraze the question now. If heaven were to have a government, what woudl it be. The most likely would be a form of communism when you think about it.
And I have to agree with I.Am. Heaven is too awesome to fully and completly explain if it does exist. My personal description was vauge and those are the most vivid thoughts my imagination could come up with.

Well, we are (by biblical scripture) our bodies will come back up to Heaven and all will be good, and I can play football with Jesus. Other than that, we are thinking heaven from a human perspective, a perspective of which we require, need, and want things. Without that human need, things won't get 'boring' imo.

Tiger of the Fire Perhaps I shoudl rephraze the question now. If heaven were to have a government, what woudl it be. The most likely would be a form of communism when you think about it. I must disagree. razz Communism glorifies labor and requires a working class. Everyone likes to think of communism as the "share everything equally" government, which is all nice and happy and fluffy and yay! BUT there has to be "something" to share and you don't get that "something" without the working class. Most people don't mind their jobs. But they don't LOOOOOOOOVE them so much that it's their heaven on earth. The more I thought about it, the more I came to the conclusion that Heaven (in the judeo-christian sense) is an a Monarchy (It has a King!)...but the monarch permits a state of anarchy to exist. razz But say you're not monotheistic...fine. Take the monarch out of the picture. It's still anarchy. IF everything is just there for people to freely take without doing any labor, without any sacrifice (In the earthly existence, this action would be called stealing more often than not.)...to do whatever you want...then that seems more like an anarchy to me. Even if it's in line with everyone else (and with the Divine)...it's still your desire.

I just picture heaven as whiteness. From here, we can choose to interact with the world, though in an ethereal form. Which would explain ghosts and whatnot.

Its when you get people who dont want to do s**t that makes them bad. Like I'll always say though, communism only looks good on paper and only works in a fictional or perfect world.
