This Story takes place in the Future, this are named differently but retain the same meaning. This takes place in Venice now named Venus, the city is slowly sinking into the sea as it has been for ages. The canal waters are deadly, eatting even a small clam or fish from those water can give you what to locals called Canal Fever. There are now several Guilds, the Mask Guild, The Butcher's Guild, and The Alchemist's Guild. The Mask guild creates the Mask's that hide the faces of everyone, from infant to elderly everyone wears a make to cover their faces, even at home, some even as they sleep.

There are also gods that are worsshiped:
Diana, Goddess of the night. She is a tall, prephaps seven to eight feet inb height. Her hair poured back from a diamond fillet, and the lunar crescent was iridescebtly blazoned on her forehead. She is as white as snow, as the moon, all but ther diamonds and those feverish yellow eyes.
Death, The creature of life's folly. A woman sometimes, that wears masks as do all. But removes each mask one by one until nothing cept a skull is left in the wake of a mortal face.
The Virgin, The mother of the lord Christ. She is thought of as a Goddess for having brought to the world a God. She is dressed in simple clothing in all her pictures and in a religous Idol that is hardly welcomed anylonger.
Deus, The God of the Carnival of Lust. This is the God of passion and Lust, for each god their is a minor Guild or chapel somewhere hidden in the City of Venus.
Maxima Venus, The Goddess of the City. Venus is who the Citywas named after, the Goddess of the planet Venus, the goddess of love and beauty.
Pesci, The God of Neptune. One of the four watchers of the city with Venus.
Cancro, The Moon. The father of Diana and a watcher of the City.
And Vulcan, The scorpian. The fierous protector of all things good.
