For the longest time I have considered myself
somewhat of a follower of some American ideals.
An example is a democratic government, like our
government is supposed to be today.
I have never really had a huge problem with our
government, I may grumble about how it sucks
sometimes, but I never really thought it to be
a waste of time.
I also have never had a huge issue with the
people of America; the things that have bothered
me the most are people who abuse welfare programs
and ignorant, hateful bastards.
Well, today, I saw America has sunk to a new low.
I was watching a movie talking about how many
Americans today seem to think they are a victim
all the time.
This movie showed many people who took advantage
of our government, and it really bothered me how
bad some of these people were.
One guy, when asked why he needed welfare, said
something along these lines: 'Well, no jobs places
will hire me, they obviously don't want me to work.'
The host asked 'Well, how many jobs have you applied
for in the past month?'
'About one'
'Well, what is your disability?'
'Drugs. But I don't need a job; the government
doesn't want me to work if they are payin me not
to do it.'
'Well, this is costing me money, I should be ticked.'
'Yeah man, you should.'
There were tons of people claiming disabilities that
were total bull s**t.
One person got fired for bringing a loaded gun to
work. He sued because he said he had a chemical
imbalance that made him do it. Personally, I'd
consider that even more reason to fire him.
But, I believe, he won, because he was protected
by the lovely, vague ADA.
Personally, I think the US government is the same
as communism; great idea, but it doesn't work when
you apply it to humans.
It worked at one point, but people now are becoming
so lazy.
I think we need to make the ADA specific, and make it
protect people with serious disabilities that have been
verified by doctors as being real (there were some
people who claimed they had some disease where all
chemicals made them sick, and they forced the company
they worked for to make gross accomodations for them,
claiming to be protected by the ADA) and I think welfare
should only be given when the person absolutely
has to have it; if they are severely disabled, to the point
where they can't work almost anywhere.
People who are just lazy are lazy; don't make it worse
by paying them.
I personally believe in working for a living. I know I
probably won't be rich, but I refuse to sit on my a**
all day and live off the government.
If they claim they can't get a job, say 'OK, well, you
don't get your $500 unless u perform x hours of
this job'
Government would be paying the same $500, but
getting something out of the lazy b*****d.
I think if someone's to lazy to work, they should starve.
I know it seems mean, but America is getting rediculous.
'Oh, he wouldn't hire me because I'm twelfth generation honduran!'
That is bullshit.
One of the guys was, I believe, Jamacian.
He said the first job he applied for, the guy
only looked at him and said 'You are the
kind of person I need.'
This guy said he didn't sue, he went on and applied
somewhere else.
The guy eventually got a good-paying job, and he
was happy to just have a job to begin with.
I think the government is encouraging this, and
I don't think the governement can really work how
we want it to any more.
I don't know how much of a discussion I can make
this, but I.... yeah
>.<
