who here miss puplic school

well if you dont want a life its great plus im stuck in a christian home school

All the children I know who are being home schooled have more of a life than I did, and I went to school. and I know about 14 quite well (due to them being family) at the moment being homeschooled. They have more friends than I ever did, and not just friends their own age, and they go to more parties than I ever did, they don'thave to worry about school's schedule so they can take wednesday afternoons off to go do archery or play at the beach.

If you find you're 'not having a life' then school would be even worse I think, what part of a life do you think you're missing? Once you identify that, I'm sure you could work to get it back, lol.

I really realy miss public school. You make a lot of wonderful friends and your more likely to be invited to hang out and go to parties. For me, when I went to public school my friends were my life.. now that im in homeschool *this is my second year* i dont have a life really.. my life consists of waking up when i feel like *which i must admit i prefer to the 7 am of public school* sitting on the computer and doing as i please or watching disney movies. also homework and learning but im talking more about the funside right now. I must be honest and tell you i go on a lot of fieldtrips and see a lot of places in home school. im in a program called options for youth. its a really cool program and i couldnt see myself homeschooling without ofy. the entire reason i started homeschooling was i didnt do any school work at all. i know if i went back to public school id find this problem again. *it had happend since 5th grade* my first year of highschool i went to a local high school up here but although i adore my friends and knew a lot of people for my entire life, there was a lot of gang problems and the second to last day we had a double stabbing. then i transfered to my uncles house and went to a public school down there. again the people were wonderful for the most part but here i was picked on a lot by a lot of the black kids because i wasnt christian *im not racist, please dont call me that* so i had a certain group that no one wants to be a part of help me get them off my back. i also was to social here because there were a lot of koreans, chinese, and japanese at this school and i love asia. they also had a lot of club activities to do and a joined more then a kid with homework could handle * anime club, volunteering organization, swing dancing, hawaiian hula, and skirts for progress* i was active in all of them, never missed a meeting. always attended the events we had going on and all the dancing competitions.. i also went and ddr'd with my friends every weekend and hung out at there house or mine after school videogaming. so although i had a blast im kind of stuck in home school. as i said this is my second year and its really getting to me lately. i go to the mall or something and i see everyone with there friends and boyfriends.. my boyfriend is a college student in san francisco so i dont get to see him often. *once a month usually* i also have no more friends where i live.. and i am back to where i have lived since i was 3 months old. my life has become shelterd and kind of pathetic ^^; although i do have friends, everyone is 18+ and lives further south from me. they also all have jobs and can drive. since im only 17, its gonna take me a while to catch up with them. i still get to see them once a month at a giant party in Los Angeles but its not the same.. going to the mall has become dreaded for me.. I am not sure what I can/should do to fix my situation.. a job is out of the picture because i have to turn in so many packets a month to hold a permit and i dont have that concentration.. im graduating in may, thankfully.. but thats still months away. anyone have any ideas?

no i don't miss school. there are things i enjoyed but not enough to miss it.

I used to beg to go back when we first started, but then our mom got the Exploring Creation science curriculum and I begged less. Then she got the Life of Fred math curriculum and now I'm begging to go to college to take some language courses.

why don't you go out and meet people? can't they email your tests?

I wouldn't be talking about "more of a life" if I were you. I'm assuming you go to Middle or Highschool. And you get what...... two minutes in the hall to get your stuff out of the lockers and lunch time to talk to your friends. All the rest of the time you have to sit in a classroom and are silent. I only whent to the middle of second grade so I only have a little idea of what it's like from my friends who do go to middle school but It doesn't sound all that "social." I go to Homeschool groups and play with kids all day. People who go to school can't do that because they have to go to SCHOOL. I have all week to go where ever with my friends.
