This is my last poem about all the men that have hurt me in my life...so...here it is!!


Dear Friend,
I never had a chance
to experience true hopelessness
until you came along
and took everything
away
My last bit of innocence
extracted with your fingertips
A rotting flame of hurt
shot through me
by your
hate
And that day you said
you loved me
I discovered true dishonesty
and all those songs you sang
of solidarity we shared
were thoughtless ballads written by
the Sirens of
your soul
You did all you could to blind me
with epic verses of reality
You preached to me about
your love
and lust
and pain
and hope
Until one fateful day you faltered
the hypnotic dancing stopped
and you saw the spell was broken
and we fell...

Dear Friend,
Do you remember how we used to be?
smiling
dancing
happy
with only our friendship to worry about
no lust, just love
between friends?
After that day you ruined me
and I cried in my dreams
you confessed all your sins to me
and begged me for redemption
on your knees
crying real tears
of sorrow
pain
hopeful for a reconciliation
And somehow
I forgave you
and somehow
I still loved you
and though I wonder
how tomorrow will be
I trust you not to hurt me
again

Dear Friend,
A decade has gone by
or so it seems
We've been friends forever
dreaming peaceful dreams
You've supported me
through thick
and thin
you haven't left my side
and when that boy walked in
and drew me away
you stood there
and watched us
dance
while your eyes brimmed with
joyful tears
And you saw how much
he loves me
You saw my smile was real
You saw how much
I love him back
And we finally said our
Goodbyes
And while I slept peacefully
and dreamt of love
You learned to dream
of sleep
And you found yourself
another friend
You danced with her
fighting memories of
us
Until one day we met again
and I didn't recognize you
and you didn't recognize me
and the memories ---
what memories?
vanished.

Dear Friend,
Do you remember me?
and all we used to be?
Do you remember my broken heart?
and joyful tears we shared?
