I see you found your way to my little quest. Let me welcome you and invite you to take a look around. I am always looking for constructive criticism as I can take it and I know I will need to improve along the way.
I plan on using this thread to simply get my thoughts in order and to figure out where exactly I am going with my dream. I have been working on him roughly since January of this year. Thus compared to most quests mine is pretty young. I am still kind compiling information about my chosen mythbase. If anyone has anything additional or they stumble onto something I'll gladly read over it and weave it into my research post and his story.
If I seem stuck somewhere, please feel free to offer suggestions to me. I will try to do the same for you (if you are a quester, of course). If you are a fellow quester and you give me criticism I will try to return the favor, if you like.

Added bits and pieces to various profiles. Have been doing so for the past few days now. n_n Trying not to step on toes and being mindful of various characteristics that I have observed. This man was called En-No-Ozuno of his true name which means "En (delivery: Japanese èn) "the small horned one" because he was born with a small horn on his forehead. "Devils" was a derogatory nickname the Japanese of the era gave Korean immigrants, and we know now that the Kamo family (En’s family) was of Korean descent. He was also known as En-No-Ubasoku (Upayaka En), by lay practitioners, but he is most commonly known as En the Ascetic (En-No-gyôja).

[A] Well it is mostly for my own purpose. It is basically me putting down a quick one or two word title to a personality before typing it out. Various words (that can describe personality) have different meanings to me. So I found that it helps me out a lot to set that word down and let it marinate in my head for a time until I can figure out how to fully describe it and what it means to me. Some aspects of the word (in this case) won't likely show until the character is older (at later stages) in life. Either way I find it a handy tool for myself to use. ^^

Name Meaning: Faith, Expansion, or Truth
Myth Base: En no Ozunu
Eyes: Dark Brown
Hair: Black with dark-ish streaks in shades of brown; Curly and wild, hard to tame.
Gender: Male
Skin Tone: Click! That skin tone [if you clicked the link] with slightly more brown undertone to it. The lighter color in the swatch is meant to be like a highlight color.
Markings/Unusual Traits:
Forehead: Click! It rests about in the middle of his forehead. The kanji is 'tsuno' which means horn. I know the image is ... bad, but I am unable to properly draw it by hand. Thus you only get the basic design. The circles and sticks (lines) are supposed represent lines of archaic-looking text (the more oriental/Asian looking the better). The 'sticks' of 'text' that are supposed to be outside the circles should be kind of wavy looking. It doesn't take up his entire forehead, but it is easily visible. This trait is pretty much symbolic of the horn he was said to have been born with. I felt it to be an important enough trait to keep in one form or another.

In-depth Personality:
He is as content in groups or when alone, neither prospect bothers him greatly and he can find peace in either setting if need be. For the most part some might consider him a bit eccentric or just outright weird. Nobu talks to everything be it animate or inanimate because believes that everything about him has a soul, even the toaster placed upon the counter will be subject to his company if he so desires it. Whether or not the inanimate talks back he does not say very clearly other than 'can't you hear?' or to inform you as to what exactly the object thinks of you, either way it might sound like his personal opinion.
Nobu is curious almost to a fault and it is bound to get him in much trouble. He hears a sound? He must go check it out. He sees something glittering in the corner? He must go poke at it. After all how can one learn or teach unless they have gone through experience themselves? Nobu doesn't see anything wrong with his insatiable curiosity other than the fact that it almost gets him killed or outright maimed.
This Fa'e does have a temper though it isn't outright obvious. Someone picks on him? He just smiles and teases back. Someone hits him? He takes it or if he knows you well enough he hits back. He can take and give out in return but otherwise he doesn't really get angry. Nobu can deal with the most difficult of people with a patient smile and pretty much find ways of dealing with other people's issues. When he does finally get angry he tends to hold a more rigid posture and moves a lot more stiffly, he's quiet and has a strange stony smile plastered upon his face though his eyes show anything but happiness....

Quest Fodder:Sudden Cowardice: (Late Child - Teen); This is more of a personal quest, the need to get over a sudden personal issue. There will be a lot of pressure placed upon Nobu mostly via his Guardian(s) to perform and behave a certain way which will lead up to an ultimate task. Eventually the weight of it will make him 'collapse' and he will behave and react to everything with the thought of self-preservation above all else. If there is a confrontation? Run from it. Painful tasks to perform? Avoid it. During this period he will seem depressed and lose interest and focus in things he once loved to do. Sooner or later someone may need to slap some sense into him or at least force him to face the task at hand and tell him to lay off the emo-juice, it doesn't suit him.
Come Meet Us: (Child +); On and off through life Nobu will meet the five children of Zenki and Goki: Kiguma, Kiji, Kitsugu, Kijo, and Onihiko. The later in life he meets or finds them the deeper more involved the process is to get to them and the farther away it takes him from home. When they figure out who Nobu is they will probably be a little nervous and distrustful of him and make sure the young lad didn't bring anything to cut their hair with as Nobu had done with their parents in a past life. Some may be even less willing to meet with him than the one before because of how En no Ozunu had managed to gain the servitude of their parents.

Marking/Tattoos/Scars: Scales about the size and shape as a snake’s scales, colored red-ish, they dot along his forehead and the sides of his temples disappearing into his hairline just before his ears. The scales shimmer golden in some lights. Along his hands, up to his elbow is a red coloring like he had dipped his hands in red dye, this same coloration happens at his feet where it fades off at the knees.
Unusual Features:
A horn growing from his forehead that curves back along the shape of his forehead and ends at a point. The horn seems to be made of many tiny fibrous strands twisted together. At the base of the horn is a band of golden metal.
Pupils like that of a cat. The eyes react just like a cat through various moods and lightings. The pupils widen when excited or angry and are but slivers when calm and relaxed.
He has a tail with fur growing along the underside of the tail and growing a little longer past the tip of the tail, the top part of the tail is flesh and thus colored the same color as his skin, the fur/hair is colored the same as his hair.
His pointed ears have a line of fur growing from them, again same color as his hair, grow in length toward the tip of the air where it ends at a bit of a tuft.
Personality Archetype: The Strategist
General Personality: He has a dry wit and his humor is even dryer. Kazuki doesn’t seem to have a very strong concept of humor and this could make his personality seem to fall flat. Though in private, like with his wife or close friends, he smiles more and even laughs a little and when he’s drunk it doesn’t matter who he is around, he loves everyone. Despite the quiet stoic demeanor that he shows the world, inside he is brash and often doesn't think before he acts. This also includes when he says things offhandedly not quite meaning them as insults. He is blunt, to the point, and a little ruff around the edges but a loyal friend and very supportive. Kazuki is also very honorable.
Appearance: His facial structure is strong, muscular, very similar to Nagira from Witch Hunter Robin. There is something vaguely cat-like about his face, almost lion-esque. Even Nagira's hairstyle is similar to what his hair looks like, sideburns and all. Only, Kazuki tends keep a neutral and stoic expression, like he's always serious. Some people might get the impression he has no emotions at all. His chin is also slightly smaller and a touch narrower, but not a whole lot. Kazuki carries himself with pride and with good posture. His ears are pointed, like an elf, and his teeth are like human teeth except perhaps his canines are a bit more prominent almost like fangs.
Clothes: Something like this, perhaps with different colors and patterns. Though sometimes he will wear more modern or western style clothes or mix eastern style with western style if he can get away with it.

Marking/Tattoos/Scars: She has scales about the size and shape as a snake’s scales, which are colored dark blue-ish, dotting along her cheeks and down her neck a ways. Upon her hands and arms, up to the elbow, is a blue coloration as if she had dipped her hands in a vat of dye. The same colors are seen on her feet and that color fades off at her knees.
Unusual Features:
8-pronged antlers that grow from the sides of her head, at the temple and curve back along the sides of her head, and thus often making them seem more like a laurel of branches or even a circlet of blue-gray. Often she will decorate the antlers with silver strings and jewelry. The antlers are not huge, and are considered proportional to the size of her head. They don’t seem heavy at all to her. The tips of the antler prongs are more rounded rather than sharp tips.

General Personality: She is soft spoken but not really limp noodle. Mayu can be a little spitfire when it suits her and speaks her mind when she needs to. Her husband often has trouble keeping her under any true control sometimes. She will do what needs to be done to get her point across and thus doesn’t mince words when there is no need for it. People that first meet her may sometimes interpret as her demeanor as cold and brisk though she is actually just the opposite. She is nurturing and often motherly. She has a very lady-like way of behaving. All-in-all she seems to be the friendlier one of the pair.
Appearance: Her facial features are soft and feminine, she has a look similar to Fran from Final Fantasy 12, and this includes the widow’s peek hairline. Mayu has a very gentle way of smiling and often looks very sweet and unassuming. She carries herself in a rather unthreatening almost demure fashion and some might view this as her wearing her weakness out for all to see. Some may attempt to take advantage of her and likely fail in doing so. She has pointed ears, like an elf. Her teeth are normal like any other human’s may be except that her canines are more prominent, thus giving them a fanged look.
