I read this msnbc.com article on evolution last year. I came across it again because it was linked from another article on the site. Whether or not you believe in evolution it's pretty interesting.
It gives an outline on what humans might be like if we evolved into specialised subspecies. One of these is a genitically constructed being called a numan. Somewhere deeper in the article it mentions being able to choose genetic modifications. I want pointy ears!
whee It also mentions conflict with naturally conceived humans. Kind of reminds me of the way Nei was treated.
