Max lies on the lounge floor; he stares at the key in his hand. Minna is sweeping up the floor of the bar while Goukai and Greg pick-up the chairs. Alice hugs Chris; Ivan holds Scarlet who is sleeping. Max remains on the floor. The snow falls outside; Goukai takes a sip of his drink.
Goukai: I can understand… why he left… He didn’t have a home before the Goddess, and he certainly didn’t know a thing about love before her. If she needs him, he’ll be there.
Alice: I guess the same goes for Saikoro…
Minna puts up the broom and walks over to Ivan.
Minna: Are you going to be okay?
Ivan: I am but I’m worried about everybody else…
Minna: What if I said not to worry about it? That I’ve got a surprise for the newly weds?
Ivan: Hm?
Minna: I’ll make sure to take care of your brother and daughter.
Chris sits on a barstool sipping wine. Minna sits down next to Chris and slides two tickets to Chris. Chris looks at the tickets and gags on her drink. Chris hugs Minna, Minna grins. Alice sighs as Goukai takes a sip of his drink.
Alice: Your wife is a real angel, isn’t she?
Goukai: Heh, she’s just got a big heart.
Outside the bar it’s dark and the snow falls. On another road, the sun just breaks as a car travels down it. Biff takes a puff of his cigarette as Saikoro pulls down his sunglasses. They pass a sign that reads, “You’re Now Avoiding Reality.” In the garden of a mansion, a girl types on a laptop while sitting on a bench.
Ace: It’s okay to dream for a little bit, right?
Biff: Dream all you like, kid.
Ace: Biff?
Ace turns around seeing Biff; Biff takes off his sunglasses. He smiles.
Biff: You’ve gotten skinny.
Saikoro: Huh?
Ace flies past Saikoro and nails Biff in the head, making him hit the ground.
Ace: You a**!
In a dining room, Saikoro serves tea.
Ace: You remember this place, don’t you?
Biff: Of course, the place stuck between a fantasy – a dream that desperately wants to come true. And I can recall that this place is mine.
Ace: Yep, to live in a home that suits my imagination. Sadly, this is what I call a day dream and when I snap out of it… I’ll be back to my miserable self.
Saikoro: What is it Ace that’s hurting you so?
Biff: Other than yourself…
Ace holds her left arm, she leans back in the chair.
Ace: Love can easily turn to obsession… we have regrets, we feel guilty… we hurt ourselves from the guilt. It’s all just very sad…
Minna lies down next to Max, he looks up at her.
Max: He’s gone…
Minna: Yeah, he is… but he still loves you.
Max: But…
Minna: One day when you meet her, you’ll understand. She may be stubborn and self-centered and even a little bit mean but there’s a whole another girl there. And that’s why Biff has to be there.
Max: But why is it that nothing comes before the Goddess?
Minna: Without her, there would be nothing. And it tore him to be away from her and now it’s tearing him to be away from you. Why? Because he loves you both. And now it’s time to get up.
Biff sits in an office, writing a letter.
Biff (Thinking): Often we loose ourselves in reality and fantasy. We develop unhealthy behaviors. We’ve discovered love for the first time and embrace it with everything we’ve got. And when it’s gone, that’s when we become lost.
Biff walks outside and hands Saikoro a letter.
Biff’s Letter: Dear Max, I am sorry for the sudden good bye. For so many years I wanted to see her again, then it happened. Yet I never expected to fall in love and leave you so suddenly. I will return to you as soon as possible and thus I will ask a question I never thought I say. Love, Biffy.
Max stands up and Minna hugs him. Scarlet walks into the lounge and Max picks her up smiling. Scarlet grins along with Max. Outside Ivan’s house; Ivan puts two suitcases in the back of a taxi. Chris gets in the cab following Ivan. The cab drives off in the snowy road. Chris puts her head on Ivan.
Chris: Everything’s going to be okay…
