I hate the very idea of music videos. And I just hate them in general.
I doubt Im alone in this respect.

Music videos are just another way to capitalize on a bands art. Instead of leaving the music just to be what it is you have to make a video story that completely destroys any original thoughts about the music. Its just big industries trying to suck out more money and create more tv shows.
Music is for listening not watching.

While that is true sometimes, I think it can also be used, vary rarely perhaps, but sometimes, to expand the artistic work into incorporating more media. Becuase sometimes music videos raise more questions artistically than they answer. But yes, a lot of the time it isnt' like that. Sometimes I just like to see the band too. But I admit that most of the time they are exactly what you said...
