I don't know about everyone else, but I love Chopin. The great composer who brought us:

Fantasie Impromtu
All of the Nocturnes
A set of wonderful Preludes
As many mazurkas as you could fit in my hat *points at hat*
Beautiful Waltzes
And Virtuoso Polonaises

So whats your favourite piece of Chopin?

I like the piece you suggested the other night^_^ I've been playing it quite a bit, though I should really get back to my exam piecesXD I've totally killed my right hand index finger though by doing glissandos>.< It really hurts...

Aww!! Its a nice piece isn't it? So your taking your music GCSE this year, right? Guess what? I'm taking it extra, but I'm doing it in one year instead of two!! I will be taking my exam at the same time as you! Yay!

That's so cool^_^ I wish I had done the short course, all my teachers said I should have>.<

Then that would have meant I would not have had enough time to really get as good at my composing. I'm really proud of my intergrated coursework^_^

Have you started the waltz or are you doing something different?

I'm doing something different, I think. I have to perform a solo piece, an ensemble and a two compositions. I'm so proud of my composition, but it's really difficult to play! Its in C sharp minor, on three staves and the hands always have to cross over.

HahXD I based mine on Prelude in C# minor tooXD Except mine is in A minor and I've filled it with arpeggiated diminished sevenths (my speciality).

For my waltz I did a section crossed over though...

Do you have a recording of it? I can send you my waltz if you want.

I should probably practice my exam pieces though...

I heard it played by a concert pianist who was staying at my house a year ago or so, and she played it so beautifully that I have fallen in love with the piece.

Chopin. The Mozart of the piano age. He's probably one of my favorite composers, I'm currently playing a mazurka of his. It's quite lovely. ^-^
