Volumes 11-20Volume 11: A Star and a Stray Dog
Cover: Abarai Renji
todokanu kiba ni hi o tomosu
ano hoshi o mizu ni sumu you ni
kono nodo o saite shimawanu you ni
I will light a fire on an unreachable fang,
so that I won't have to see that star,
so that I won't let it tear at my throat.
(Notes: Something like this was said by Renji in episode 32.)
Volume 12: Flower on the Precipice
ware-ware ga ganpeki no hana o utsukushiku omou no wa
ware-ware ga ganpeki ni ashi o tometeshimau kara da
osore naki sono hana no you ni
sora he to fumidasezu iru kara da
We think the flower on the precipice is beautiful
because our fear makes our feet stop at its edge
instead of stepping forward into the sky
like that flower.
Volume 13: The Undead
Cover: Zaraki Kenpachi
hokori o hitotsu suteru tabi
warera wa kemono ni ippo chikazuku
kokoro o hitotsu korosu tabi
warera wa kemono kara ippo toonoku
Any one time we throw away pride
we take a step closer to becoming beasts.
Any one time we kill a heart
we take a step back from becoming beasts.
Volume 14: White Tower Rocks
Cover: Yamada Hanatarou
kishimu kishimu, jouzai no tou
hikari no gotoku ni sekai o tsuranuku
yureru yureru, sebone no tou
ochite yuku no wa, bokura ka, sora ka
It creaks, it creaks; the tower of cleansed sins,
like the light, it will pass through this world.
It shakes, it shakes; the tower in our spine,
the one that will fall will be... us? Or the sky?
Volume 15: Beginning of the Death of Tomorrow
Cover: Kira Izuru
boku wa tada kimi ni
sayonara o iu renshuu o suru
I am merely practicing
saying goodbye to you.
(Notes: There are pictures on the same page as the poem. In this picture, it depicts hands near someone's throat. It is apparent that the hands belong to Ichimaru, while the throat is Kira. Also, this message sounds more in relation to Ichimaru saying goodbye to Matsumoto. However, it's not written in kansai-ben, the dialect Ichimaru speaks in. Interpret it anyway you want.)
Volume 16: Night of Winjruit
Cover: Hitsugaya Toushirou
furishikiru taiyou no tategami ga
hakuhyou ni nokoru ashiato o keshite yuku
azamukareru o osoreruna
The constant shower of the sun's mane
will erase the remaining footprints on the thin ice.
Don't be afraid to be deceived
for the world is already full of deception.
(Notes: This isn't the translator's note but mine; as stated in the first post, this poem is similar to the last stanza in Ichimaru's image song, Sude ni Azamuki no Ue ni.)
Volume 17: Rosa Rubicundior, Lilio Candidor (Redder Than the Rose, Whiter than the Lilly)
Cover: Shihouin Yoruichi
chi no you ni akaku
hone no you ni shiroku

kemono no shinkei no you ni akaku
kami no shinzou no you ni shiroku
tokedasu zouo no you ni akaku
itetsuku shoutan no you ni shiroku
yoru o hamu kage no you ni akaku
tsuki o inuku toiki no you ni
shiroku kagayaki, akaku chiru
Red like blood
White like bone
Red like solitude
White like silence
Red like the beastly instinct
White like a god's heart
Red like thawing hatred
White like a frozen, pained cry
Red like the night's hungry shadows
White shines and red scatters
like sighs that shoot through the moon
(Notes: Several notes for this one. The "red and white" could be Renji and Byakuya, especially since the title of the book is also the title of the chapter in which they fight. It should also be noted that the kanji used for scatter is the same as for Byakuya's shikai. However, it could also be Byakuya and Hisana, since "white" is in Byakuya and "scarlet" is in Hisana. Another possibility is it being Rukia and Renji (red being Renji's hair, white being Rukia's zanpakutou).)
Volume 18: The Deathberry Returns
Cover: Soi Fong
anata no kage wa hisoyaka ni
yuku ate no nai dokubari no you ni
watashi no ayumi o neitsukeru
.
anata no hikari wa shinayaka ni
sayuusuitou o utsu rakurai no you ni
watashi no inochi no minamoto o tatsu
Your shadow stealthily
leaves nothing of where you go, like a poisoned needle
that sews together my footsteps.
Your light pliantly
strikes the water tower, like a lightning bolt
that severs the source of my life.
Volume 19: The Black Moon Rising
Cover: Kurosaki Ichigo
sou, nani mono mo watashi no sekai o kaerare wa shinai
That's right, nothing else can change my world.
(Notes: The translator states that the speaker is probably Zangetsu, not Ichigo, since the pronoun is "watashi.")
Volume 20: end of hypnosis
Cover: Ichimaru Gin
utsukushiki o ai ni tatofu no wa
ai no sugata o shiranu mono
.
minikuki o ai ni tatofu no wa
ai o shitta to ogoru mono
One who paints the beauty in love
is one who pretends to know her form.
One who paints the ugliness in love
is one who once arrogantly knew her.
(Notes: Although Ichimaru is on the cover, it doesn't use kansai-ben dialect. In fact, it uses more the style of speech that Byakuya uses. Interpretation is up to the reader.)
21-??? will be up in a minute.
