She gently put her hands down on the keys, playing the last chord of the piece so quietly it was almost missed by the audience as they stood clapping.

The first night of the tour had gone so well, they were even shouting for an encore! Emmanuela was amazed at how she had managed to control her nerves whilst playing the middle section.

"How could things have been so perfect? Surely there must be a fault somewhere?" She thought as she stepped out of the stage door, into the alleyway at the back of the theatre. "Surely...-" her thoughts were cut short as a figure in black came up behind and...

Arnold Hamilton pressed the pistol into Emmanuela's back.
"Move and I shoot," he whispered. Emmanuela made a muffled squeek of fear and surprise. "Now, come with me and no one gets hurt." He began walking, leading her away from the District of Bloomsbury, past the British museum, towards the river.

Fog was rising from the murky water and spreading like a yellow cloud of disease over Cheapside and down into the deeper lanes of London.

There upon the water floated a small boat, which had a little light that just managed to shine three feet into the thick smog. The man was leading her towards that faint glimmer, pressing the gun harder upon her back. She was so scared she almost couldn't breath. Her throat was getting tighter and her breath was coming in gasps. The more she tried to breath in, the less she could until everything went black.

The black clothed woman blended in perfecty with the starless sky behind her, her long black coat swininging with each movement of her hips, the swish of leather adding the the similar noise of the waves breaking up against the banks of the river.

her red nails shone in the half light, distorted by the thinkening of the fog as she delved into the heavy coat. The scarlet tipped fingers clutched a silver phone. She flipped up the phone, and sighted as she read the display.

One missed call.

"...s**t.."

She knew exactly whom this call would have been from. Typial that she would miss the most important phone call of the night.

"...Hamilton...what have you done this time...?"

Hamilton lead her into the boat where she sat down looking at the new moon that was nearly invisble
She softly said,"Why did you have to ruin a perfect preformence?"

Hamilton was slow to reply but then said,

Eliza's skinny little hands were at work delivering ink to the page that holds the report. She was sitting on a cold bench made out of stone where the wind barely blew and it sounded like a whistle. It was elaborate and Eliza's favorite writing place. Her hat was very big and hid her face while her ruby dress drooped down but her coat covered most of the dress. She loved the old fashion and wasn't intrested in jeans and tank tops nowdays. And it didn't matter if it was night, she would bring a lantern. It was getting chilly. "Time to go inside," Eliza said softly like the wind. Her hands closed the book and held it to her ballpoint pen, she went in her home.

Satisfied with her work, Eliza wandered through the first floor of her antiquated house to place the report on the kitchen counter.

However, as she entered the silenced room, she noticed something was very bizarre.

"What could it be?" she thought as she tried to put her finger on it.

"Oh no." She dropped her report and scrambled up the stairs.

As she had entered the room, the comatose body of her brother limply stared at her through glazes eyes. It held tightly to a raided bottle of aspirin.

"Not again," she mumbled as she dialed 911.

I sat there waiting in the shadows about a block away... as she placed the call, I tapped the phone line and intercepted it.

"Perfect," I grinned.

This was going to be a good night.

.....

You see, her brother didn't actually overdose; I gassed him.

"Yes ma'am, how can I help you?"

"My brother OD'd on aspirin again, please send someone..."

"Sure ma'am, right away," I hurriedly replied.

In a mock EMT uniform and in an Ambulance, I swiftly ventured up to the house.

As I pulled the stretcher out, she came running up to me.

(I guess this is going to be easier than I thought.)

"Oh, please, come quickly, he's..." She nearly screamed.

"It's OK miss, he's going to be fine," I retorted, much to her surprise.

With a quizzical look, she cringed. I had pulled out a small handgun out of the First Aid kit and pointed it at her skull.

"See, ma'am, I'm calling the shots. Your brother's going to be fine. Just get in the ambulance."

She whimpered and crawled in.

As she sat in the back in a reaction to her near-insanity haze, I chuckled.

Us good guys gotta do what we can- otherwise, people just think we're crazy.

"We know you know The Pianist," I calmly offered. "We need your help to locate her."
