~*The Background Important Stuff*~ The history of the world began with a flash of magic and the clang of a sword. The time when magic, imagination, mystical creatures, and a warrior spirit were still alive. The world's magic began to wane as humans began to rule the world with their naive destructive ways. The elves could handle it no more. Containing more technology than all the other races, the elves made it to a new frontier that would hopefully bring them to somewhere where they could live in harmony with the planet, space. The elves left in search of another planet, leaving all other demi-human races to fend for themselves against the wave of humans. Their fate was sealed and inevitable. Rarely did other races fall in love with one of the short lived creatures known as humans. This created halflings, one half demi-human and one half human. However, this did not prevent the death of all the demi-humans. The blood of the halflings would eventually be mixed too much within the human lines that they would no longer be demi-human, but considered a full human. Needless to say, demi-humans were no more and this left humans to populate the planet. Magic had died out with the demi-humans leaving the humans with nothing but the knowledge to create and understand. Documented history was created as well as the knowledge to create technology. Electricity was harnessed, lights were made, houses were sturdier, and knowledge grew. The printing press, wars, industrial revolution, we all know the history of our world. However, this goes past out time. Sometime later in the future when technological advances were becoming so great that cyborgs were a regular occurence especially when someone had lost a limb and androids were almost a realization is where our story begins. What most didn't know was there was magic still left within the world. It had not died out completely with the demi-humans. Ideas and occurences of demons were thought to have existed only in legend, but there were those that still hunted demons and "ghosts". What were these things? Did they truly exist? These legends or figments of people's imagination were actually the blending of the celestial planes. The demon plane was connecting with the astral plane in which all humans exist upon. Demons contained magic and the ability to destroy technology with ease. But, how were these demons connecting to the world? Oddly enough, a few people with the natural ability for magic were born. They were know as freaks in their time. However, humans would be quickly turning their ideas around about these "freaks" that were actually sorcerers. Being rejected by the society that bore them, the three legendary sorcerers made it their life's mission to destory technology. It would give them an advantage in controlling the power balance of the world. Without technology humans were useless which would lead to a panic. That would allow the three of them to divide the world up under their control. The three legendary soon found that they could summon up demons to aid their cause. By this point they had harnessed their power enough to summon up great demons that began destroying the large cities of the world. Washington D.C was the first to go as it was the main power of the world. The attack was unexpected and the President as well as many in his cabinet were annihilated without even a thought as to what was happening. America was in shambles. London, Paris, Madrid, Athens, Moscow, Rome, and the capitals of many other European countries followed quickly despite the warning of the United States. South America's, Africa's, Asia's, and Australia's capitals were all destroyed, wiped from the planet. The planet was in shambles, electricity not even flowing through many cities. The three legendary made sure to take that into account as their killing spree continued. The annihilated millions of people as each city fell by the hands of their large, summoned demons. The did not take into account, however, how they could summon these demons or where they had come from. That was the foolish nature of humans which never seemed to question where such gifts came from except for when it became a problem. The bending of the "bars" between the two planes of existance were starting to crack open and break. Soon the demon plane would become the astral plane, but it only became more noticeable to the legendary when one of their powerful demons which they often summoned was not summoned, but still appeared. The youngest of the three, Jeremor, fell to him. The other two, twins, escaped. The world was plunged in darkness and humans had to learn to live without the technology that had let them live so comfortably for years. However, some humans noticed that they had odd powers coursing within them, especially those that had long lost relatives that were once demi-humans. Some even started showing their demi-human features such as slightly pointed ears, a sudden short and stoutness, or a great shortening with odd magical powers. Some merely stayed humans. Craftsmen which used to create swords as a hobby found themselves overrun with apprentices as well as customers. Some humans who could cast magic found themselves with others who did not have a natural ability following them around as a student. The world went on and the struggle of humans continued. Magic became entwined in life, technology lost. People carrying a gun were rare as bullets were hard to make or find, but swords as well as shields became more common and reliable. Archery was becoming more common as well being much easier to make an arrow that a bullet. Bows and crossbows became well-used throughout the lands. However, there are still great areas where technology once existed and still functions. Most have forgotten what these technologies did or what their uses were. These can only be found in the rubbles of the great cities that once were. It has been four hundred years since the Massacre occured. Most of the technological history had been destroyed along with the Great Old Cities. New cities were made and relocated to different areas on the continent. Small trading towns exist across the areas. Trees and life have started to take over anything that once was being destroyed by humans. Life carries on. Electricity is a thing of the past and the sword is the wave of the future. Most know only the past of Legendary and care not to even think about these strange objects from the time of technological expanse. All fear the return of the Legendary and their destructive ways to wipe the planet of it's human infestation. A new man has appeared on the horizon. This man seems to be sided with the demons, but he is completely untainted by their appearance. There is whispers that the Legendary have returned. Heroes are gathering in order to keep the New World Order. Will you join? ~*The, like, Character Stuff*~ Character Classes Warrior: "You are truly only a warrior if you live and die by the sword with honor." That's right. These are the get right in your face and bash you with a sword. Some are rather slick talking, fast wielding, side steppers, but there are the occassionally hulking mass of man or woman that carry around a claymore or smash your skull in with a large hammer. Some wear bulky armor and some wear lighter armor. It all really depends on the fighting still which ranges from Drunken Master to Smash and Thrash to Fencing. Most mercenaries fall under this category. However, you don't have to wield a sword or a hammer to fall into this class. Many wield odd things such as javelins, maces, or even whips. The whole "dying by sword" saying is really meant to be bent and include a list of others. As long as you're willing to get in there and roll a few heads around, then this is the class for you. Rangers: "If you follow the footsteps of your pursuer, you are always sure to get in a good shot before they realize what hit them." Sneaky, little, tracking ninjas are what fall into this class. They can pick a pocket just as well as they can track a ghost in the middle of a swamp. They're usually quick-witted and not easily seen. They tend to drift toward the shadows and lurk in alleyways. This doesn't necessarily make them bad people. They can't take the heat like a warrior, but they take it much better than an archer. These ambidextrous slippery bastards usually duel wield their swords. However, when placed against a warrior they can get in a few good swings before they are utterly crushed. They make excellent guides as well as informants. If you want to be a slimy, pocket picking, duel wielding monkey, then this is the class for you. Wizards: "We may not be original magic users, but we are gifted in many ways that sorcerers could never be." These are the learned magic users. They are often found lurking in libraries glaring at anyone who seems to make so much as a peep. They can learn any of the seven elemental schools or be extremely gifted in one. Wizards take several years to learn spells as well as the craft of magic. They are usually intellectuals that love logic and tend on the side of common sense. They are often seen as stuck-up, prissy individuals that are afraid to get dirty as they spend most of their lives within the confines of a library or study. What sets them apart the most from their natural magic user counterparts is the fact that if they don't constantly use their magic or constantly study, their magic will fade and eventually become nonexistant. If you have a love of knowledge, a love of magic, and a love of blatantly colorful robes then this is the class for you. Sorcerers: "We hold the true power of magic from within the world. We are its true magic users." Sorcerers were beings that were simply born with a natural use of magic. Their magic use is very different from that of a wizard. These bedazzlers never have to read a book of spells in their life. Their abilities advance as they use their magic. The best sorcerer on record has only had three elements in which they could wield. They are born with the ability to wield all seven elements, but certain elements are stronger in each and tend to show when a sorcerer is born. With age, each element seems to ferment and grow as it is used. If an element is not used religious and in all changing forms, then its true potential will never be reached. It takes years of practice to bring even one element to a mastery level. Most sorcerers die before they can master their third element. The only exception to this were the Legendary which wielded all seven elements with a crashing vengeance. If you like being an instant magic user who can cheat passed sticking your nose in a book, but be feared and hated by almost ALL the population, then a sorcerer is for you. Gunslingers: "We follow the way of our fathers and always stand for righteousness as well as the beliefs of passion." These are the sharp shooting, gun wielding travellers of the world. They are the closest thing to a knight that will ever exist upon the face of the planet. They ALWAYS follow the path of righteousness. No demon would ever dream of firing a gun. Their personalities range from extremely sociable to angry assholes, but they are almost always loners. They are hardly ever caught in one place for more than a week, always travelling in search of lost technology. These are seekers of technological knowledge as well as treasure. Lost technology sells for a high price especially when its uses are known. If you are a loner always in search of the past and money, this is the class for you. Vagabonds: "I may have wanderlust, but I've seen things that you could never imagine." These people are rather good performers. They make excellent aristocrats as well as fighters. They can be rather slippery beings, but mostly they are just charming. They can captivate an audience with a single wave of their hand and they can talk themselves out of death more than one time. They are rather crafted with many different weapons, but they preferred weapon is somehting that can be hidden easily on the person. Throwing knives are especially a favorite due to their performance enhancement. If you like being able to charm anyone into doing anything you like as well as burying a throwing knife into the back of their head, this is the class for you. Archers: "I hope you sleep well because my arrow will strike you long before you even know I'm there." These distance fighters have learned to become knowledgeable about their surroundings within a few seconds time. They are rather observant and have they eyes of an eagle. They can see their prey up to thousands of yards off and the most skilled may even be able to hit a target at such a distance. They are skilled in the way of the bow as well as the wind currents and weather patterns. These talented predators usually see you even before you've had the chance to even think about someone else watching you. They aren't shadow skulkers like the Rangers or Vagabonds, but they can blend well with their surroundings. If you wish to be able to murder a man before he has any idea anything is wrong and silence a foe before he can lay a finger on you, then this is the class for you. Martial Artists: "Spirituality and focus are important, but the marks you leave on others are remembered above all else." These beings are in constant search of enlightenment as well as a way to hone their skills. They are agile, quick, and athletic. They issue beat downs with their fists rather calmly as well as within the blink of an eye. If there was ever a samurai of the fist, it was these enlightened individuals. Some seek knowledge, but most seek a way into the land of a higher power and a better understanding of life and all its connections. Their intense spirituality allows them to remain in a state of constant serenity even as they are slaughtering someone. Most are quiet and introverted, but some may share what they are thinking of you unenlightened ways. If you wish to raise yourself up to a higher level of enlightenment and crush your opponents with your fists of fury, then this is the class for you. Druids: "The planet birthed us. The least you can do is accept that it can take your life away as quickly as it gave it." To follow the path of nature is to take a whole new perspective on the world. These naturalists are the type of people you can hand a match to and they will build you a mall. However, they would do no such thing as they believe highly in the balance of nature. Anything that would upset the balance is something that they are highly against and will fight to the death for. They are excellent herbalists and seem to be endowed with thier own sort of nature magic that comes with the natural spirituality that they covet. If you want to be a hippie with neato powers, then this is the class for you. NOTE: These are only basic outlines of each class. They provide extremes. If your character is so obsessed with their job that they are this way, then so help you. XDCharacter Races Humans: This is the largest race by far. If you are not human, then you are a demon which is sided against the humans. There are different variations depending on whether or not way back when your great great great great great great great granpappy or grandmammy got it on with a demi-human. If they did, then you still fall into this category, but you might have slight adjustments to abilities or appearances. However, you will be mostly human either way even if demi-human look alikes are popping up all over the damn place. Demons: These bastards can range from exceptionally ugly to beautiful. However, it depends on how powerful your character is as a demon as to what they look like. Humanoid demons possess great power. Therefore, if your character is completely humanoid and has red eyes, they are either an extremely powerful demon or a Tainted which shall be explained next. There are great differences between humans and demons. Magic comes naturally to ALL demons. There are different classes that fall under this and are seperated between the seven elements of the world. The way that your demonic magical powers is determined is by tracing back through lineage. Take for example havign a fire demon that also knows water and earth magic. Most likely, their mother or father was a fire/water demon and their opposite parent was an earth/fire demon. Fire would take precedence as it was the most prevalent out of the parents. Percentages MATTER. You would most like be 50% fire, 25% water, and 25% earth. That means that you control about half abilities of fire magic and a quarter of both earth and water. This determines potencies of spells. Much like elves, lineage matters. Most mixed demons are considered impure and their magic is weak, but they have more a variety. However, if you are a single elemented demon, then your character would come from a long line of single elemented demons. These single-elemented are rare and usually take on human form with something that gives away their element such as a different colored tinted skin. Be creative! Also keep in mind....if you're a demon, then you side AGAINST the humans. Demons want the astral plane for their own. Tainted: These are the humans that have messed around in something that should've better been left alone. Cultists, demon worshippers, and summoners fall into this category. Anything that has come in contact with a demon and formed a contract with said demon has been tainted by the demon touch. This touch basically makes your character crazy. Depending on how much a Tainted came in contact with a demon determins just how easy they are controlled or crazily siding with a demon. Summoners used to be a specialization class, but are no longer around due to the demon touch. When a summoner summons a demon, they are under the summoner's control. However, the demon leaves its mark on its summoner which allows it to locate the exact person no matter where they are upon the planet. This touch is within the mind and allows the demon to control the person who summoned it as well as communicate to the summoner. Now, summoning a first level nothing demon would not make one go crazy, but summoning that first level nothing demon MANY times would eventually make the summoner lose thier mind to the demon. The higher the level demon summoned, the more dangerous it is and the more easily one falls under thier control. Imagine having a voice in you head that tells you to murder your family day in and day out every waking moment of the day. That is what being touched feels like. There are varying degrees depending on how much contact occurred. Also keep in mind that physical changes occur to those that are Tainted. Eye color changes, skin color changes, and even horns and other such things have grown out of Tainted. They are easily distinguishable from society and society fears them as they are usually with the demons. Haflings:These little buggers are those that had ancestors that had "sexual relations with that woman" or man in this case. Depending on the race that was mixed, a character might have slightly pointed ears, be rather short, have a knack for magic, can see well in the darkness, can sense anything beneath the dirt, etc. If you have questions about what race gets what specialization, then simply ask. I prefer not to list them out of laziness. XD ~*The Schools of Elements*~ NOTE: Please feel free to be creative and crazy with your spells. If you think they are too powerful, please just ASK. I am very lenient. Also depending on how powerful the spell is, depends on how well your character can handle its fatigue.Fire:Wow, so you want to control fire? Well, aside from being called a pyromaniac, you might learn some useful things. Fire is not a force to be reckoned with, but neither is any other element. There are varying spells from fireball to hail of fire to lighting up a candle. Fire's opposite is water. Water:Calming and soothing, water is important to everyone for survival. The powerful waves of the ocean can be controlled, but so can freezing rain as well as varying other ice attacks. There is no difference between ice and water. One is just frozen. The opposite of water is fire. Wind:Don't underestimate a powerful gust of wind. It worked out well for the Big Bad Wolf even if he couldn't blow down the brick house. However, in this tale, the little piggies would lose. Wind magic can be powerful enough to blow down a brick house and maybe even a castle. Flight is included in this school of magic. Wind's opposite is Earth. Earth:Ever wanted to swallow your opponent up within the planet? Well, if you're an Earth Mage, then you can do just that or just throw rocks without using your hands. You can also become a rock yourself and use the earth to your advantage. Wind is the opposite of Earth. Dark:The magic of shadows as well as absorption. Ever wanted to raise the dead or suck the life right out of your opponent. With dark magic you can do just that. It is almost always misconstrude as something evil. The opposite of Dark is Light. Light:Very similar to Dark, Light uses energy from one thing and passes it to another. It's reflection instead of absorption, however. Healing magic is used in Light, but where does the "healing" come from? Well, right from the user's fatigue. Most seem to neglect this however. Dark is the opposite of Light. Metal:The seventh element is not really magic, but really the bending of an element. With Metal magic, one can make an incredible crafted sword or even bend a sword around its fighter. Metal is flexible with the right ability and meant to be bent. If your opponent is wearing plate mail, then a Metal Mage would simply bend the metal, crushing the opponent infinitely. Most Metal Mages, however, are blacksmiths or craftsmen, but there are the rare few that use Metal Magic as battle magic. There is no opposite to metal. Fire melts it, Ice or Water freezes it and makes it brittle, Earth crushes it, Wind bends it, Dark absorbs it, and Light reflects off it.

~*Inhabitors of the Land*~ Trina_Alvertina Gaianame: Trina_Alvertina Character Name: Clover Hopkins Age: 23 Gender: Female Height: 5' 4" Weight: 126lbs Race: Human with some magical abilities. Class: Archer Alignment: To myself. Appearance: Clover has a slightly slender build with a pear-shaped body. Her arms are the strongest part of her body, thought her legs are very agile. Strawberry-blonde highlighted brunette hair treads an inch or so above her shoulders. Freckles cascade across her cheeks below her silver-tinted blue eyes. Clover normally wears form fitting clothing that she can move freely in. She always carries a quiver on her back, a bow across her shoulder, and a small pouch with a dagger attatched around her waist. Backstory: Clover cleared her throat and revealed her past to the strangers, "I was born in a small town in Rhode Island. I never knew any of my family. I was taken into a sort of orphanage when I was just a baby. I don't remember much." Clover took a deep breath and continued, "They taught me how use a recurve bow and dagger when I was very young. Oddly enough I discovered that I could control the wind when I was ten or so. My aim is very good I'm afraid by mere difault of nature. Once I turned eighteen they let me leave and I've been traveling the land ever since. I work here and there. Sometimes rich families who have lost a loved one from a demon or halfling hire me to kill them." A smirk lingered on Clovers face. "My services are very expensive. I'm not fond of murder. The families have to be desperate for me to agree. I shoot small game for myself and sometimes for trade when needed other than that I'm a free spirit." Clover's eyes gleamed in the light as smiled at the strangers. After finishing her story she nodded and walked away. Personality: Her indepence is her greatest attritibute whether good or bad. Clover enjoys traveling constantly. Though she show little emotion she is rather approachable and will carry on hours of conversation with strangers. She isn't too fond of demons or any magic-bearing individual even though she is one herself. She rarily trust anyone. Spells: Wind, she has some others naturally that she is unaware of. Special Moves: Extremely accurate aim due to her control of the wind. Occupation: Clover lives off of a few commissions here and there along with barter of small game. Weapons and Armor: A recurve bow, a quiver with arrows, and a dagger. A leather chest-plate. Quirks: Clover tends to be a bit self providing and overly independent. She also has troubles communicating in emotional situations, for she shows little to no emotion for anything. slifar Gaianame: Slifar Character Name: Sora Age: 78 Gender: Male Height: 6'2 Weight: 98 (Due to his lighter bones) Race: Half-elf (60%) (His race gives him higher senses and makes him more agile. However, he's still not very muscular and can't wear armor thicker than padded leather armor, and he can't wear armor and use a boradsword at the same time.) Class: Gunslinger, martial-artist, And slight sorcerer (His weakest area, mostly metal magic and enchantments) Alignment: Myself Appearance: Sora's race gives him slightly pointed ears and a sharper angled face, slightly pointed ears, and for some odd reason(not related to race) has deep crimson eyes. He usually has on a black cloak to mask his appearance. Under his black cloak he wears a normal black tunic and black cargo pants. He also has long, black hair and a red headband that has a long trail of slack behind it. He looks about 16. Backstory: Sora was descended from a clan of elves, before most magic was wiped from earth. However, this seemed to have no effect on any of Sora's family, after the magic was gone save for a slight increase in the basic senses. However, Sora's body was strange at birth, being unnaturally light, and his eyes being a deep crimson color. He was outcasted from most social groups during his early school years, and was often treated badly because of his strange appearance. He never even knew his parents, since his father died for some unknow reason before his birth, and his mother died from illness shrotly after Sora was born. Sora often had only himself for comfort, save maybe one or two children who took pity on him. Around the age of 13, the normal start of puberty, his body begain to change even more. For some odd reason, the power of the elves that were his ancestors had begain to take root in Sora, and around the start of normal human puberty his . His senses and physical abilities were also boosted at this point. Because of this, he quickly ran away from his home and begain to live in a forest. He used a spear and his newly hightened senses to aquire food. And so it went like this for a few years, Sora making clothes out of fur when he outgrew his old ones, and eventually making himself a cloak out of fur that allowed him to venture into town to get his current clothes, which he paid for by selling his spare furs. However, one time ,about 20 years after Sora's powers revealed themselves, when he went to sell some furs, his cloak came off and he was found out. The merchant quickly pulled out a metal object Sora had never seen before,(Sora was never taught about guns as a child) and begain to use it to fire strange metal objects at him from the device. Sora paniced, and accidentally killed the man by taking the device and firing it at him. Sora quickly fled the town, taking the device with him. Sora quickly found out that he had a good ability at munipulating the metal the device was made out of, even being able to make more "grow" out of the old metal. He quickly used this to his advantage and became a mercenary, and has remained one ever since. Personality: Due to his past experiances with people, Sora isn't very sociable to strangers. Mostly he tries to keep to himself, and rarely lets anyone even have a glimpse at his personality. (He even speaks to people he dosn't know with a blank tone.) However, people who DO take the time to befriend him, such as the two children he's known since his childhood, he is extreamly loyal to, willing to do just about anything to protect them or make them happy. Spells: He has mastery over Metal, and can enchant jewelry with spells to help protect the wearer, or to do other things. However, he can't cast spells while he's fighting, although he can still manipulate Metal. Special Moves: Sora's able to use his agility and mastery over metal to "open up" his gatling gun, firing bullets out of all 20 barrels at once, however the shock quickly tires out his arms. Occupation: Mercenary Weapons and Armor: Sora changes his equipment depending on what the situation requires. However, he almost ALWAYS can be seen with a gatling gun on his back (Which happens to be the original gun that the merchent shot at him, only modified. It's also VERY light due to the fact that Sora's metal magic is a BIG part in what makes it fire, so it dosn't restrict his movement.) Quirks: After someone takes the extra effort to befriend Sora, he will usually joke around alot, and be generally happy unless someone REALLY ticks him off. He's also good at providing insight to strange situations. burr_catch Gaia name: burr_catch Character Name: Fes Age: 17 Gender: male Height: 6'2 Weight: 170 Race: Halfling (druid) Class: ex-martial artist, developing druid Alignment: humans, although not decisively Appearance: Fes appears a bit on the sloppy side, owing to the effects of a recent lack of grooming. His thick brown hair is shaggy and tangled and he hasn't bothered to shave so he has the beginnings of a rather pathetic beard. His garb is mostly homespun but well cut and of good quality, though obviously in need of a wash and mending here and there. Fes has a kind face which his shabbiness can't quite hide, and large expressive eyes. His large, calloused hands can be surprisingly deft and his touch gentle when the situation calls for it. Backstory: Born into a large family with good connections, Fes had a rather spoiled life. When he turned fourteen, his father decided it was past time that his youngest son learned how to contribute to the family. While Fes was the youngest and therefore not entitled to the aristocratic ranks his oldest brothers had been placed in, he could still be of use. He could work under one of his older brothers, helping his sibling achieve for the good of the entire family. So his father sent Fes to a school of martial arts in the hopes that the boy would be skilled enough to one day act as a body guard. Fes proved to be good with physical techniques and that he had a natural aptitude for the more internal aspect of martial arts. He excelled quickly in his training, but during meditation his awareness began to center less on himself than on the physical world around him. His altered focus had a negative impact on his martial training that baffled his teachers. He tried desperately to keep his concentration from wandering but nothing he did countered the force pulling at his mind. It seemed as if the earth itself was calling out to him, trying to draw him from his training, his familial obligations, and even the very city he lived in. Against his better judgment, he left his school on the outskirts of the city for a quick visit to open, wild land. Once there, his mind and body, already high attuned for sensing from his training, easily soaked up the impressions pouring out of the earth and plant life around him. The connection didn't allow him to merely sense or intuit things about the nature around him – he just knew. The knowledge seeped into him, like rainfall on dry dirt; the natural world seemed to be trying to whisper all its secrets to him as he stood in the midst of it. At first, he was awed and thrilled by what was happening, but as the day started to fade and his thoughts turned to his school and the bed awaiting him there, a horrible thought struck him. Had he just learned magic? He'd heard so many tales about demons, their strange appearances, their evil characters, their powerful magics. Fes wouldn't admit that he was becoming a demon but he could sense a change in himself, one that others might not see, but one that made all the difference in the world to him. While he was fairly certain he hadn't sprouted horns, he had heard that such things had happened to ordinary people, people who had come into contact with something they shouldn't have. Besides that, he was certain someone would be able to tell something in him had altered. He wouldn't risk being branded as tainted. That night, he did return to the city; the wilderness that invited him to remain now greatly frightened him. Fes didn't return to school. Instead, he spent the whole of the night reaching a part of the city he'd never been before, far from where anyone would recognize him, from where anyone would be able to find him. Personality: Fes is a pleasant enough sort of fellow. He has always enjoyed the company of others, for talk, work and play. After his flight from his old life, Fes has grown a trifle quieter. Spells: n/a Special Moves: a few take-downs and joint-manipulation techniques from his martial arts training, for defense Occupation: laborer for the city Weapons and Armor: n/a Quirks: Fes' new life, free from the social etiquette of aristocratic life and the martial code of his old school, has recently introduced him to a force that commands his attention on a level that rivals the earth: women. Devath Gaianame: Devath Character Name: Jack Henry Kelson Age: 35 Gender: Male Height: 6' 2" Weight: He is quite slim, and very agile Race: Human, generally, although he has potent metal magics available to him (He spends hours making bullets out of raw materials sometimes). Class: Gunslinger Alignment: To himself and his family (A better word is alleigance) Appearance: Tall and slim, Jack Kelson is usually seen in a khaki color scheme, the almost cliche attire of a gunslinger. He has close cropped brown hair and a piercing gaze that is projected through his blue-green eyes. He always carries at least one gun with him, often a carbine or a sniper rifle. He tends to carry too many gadgets to count, let alone understand, and due to lineage, knows many written languages that most humans don't. He knows much more than the average person, but it is quite obvious that much of it is "book knowledge" that he has experience putting to use. He carries complex digital apparatuses that he makes quite sure are never, ever lost, due to their extremely limited availability. He is skilled at his job, and is fast and agile with aim that a marksman would envy. Backstory: He is a well known gunslinger, known for his great acquisitions of lost technologies and, most especially, information. He is a descendant of the owners of Kelson Industries, one of the greatest corporate powers in the sector of technology before the Massacre. His family has always been very rich, and continues its tradition, with more technological wonders than most, each successive generation building on the knowledge and artifacts they have in their ancient mansions. His family's achievements are known wherever there are people who care, although since the Massacre, information has flowed with far less speed than the family was accustomed to. The main thing that the family is having trouble recovering is enough materials for the operations that their facilities have been constructed for. The family is only relevant to those who care, although the name is known everywhere for its technological roots. He seeks information, bringing with him a variety of very small, compact, and complex gadgets that are used to boot up and extract information from the ancient computers he finds, searching the old cities from diagrams in the family archive to find the facilities of research facilities and other institutions of knowledge storage and distribution, acquiring information as he goes. He is known for his speed in finding and acquiring information. He has arrived in town to rest for his journey into the nearby old city to datahack the libraries of the area and grab more vehicles to haul home to the mansion, which has become a city of its own, nicknamed, "The Junkyard". It has many functional vehicles built form parts of hundreds of broken vehicles. It has several functional freight vehicles that can haul massive cargoes, but has no materials refining facilities as of yet, causing its underground manufactories to be useless without suppliers to use them. It has become the base of operations for gunslingers deemed worthy of using its facilities. Personality: Slightly outgoing, he is focused on acqusition of technology and finds life without complex tools to tinker with boring, to say in the least. He forms groups of friends he journeys with and moves along at a fast pace. Spells: He is very adept at metal magics, and uses them quite often to form items from documents he has found in his travels. Special Moves: None smile Occupation: Seeking artifacts and selling them for cash, along with extensive searches to further his ends under the family of Kelson. Weapons and Armor: He most often carries a sniper rifle with and electronic scope and a large carbine pistol, both with a variety of ammo types. He wears light kevlar armor and the clothes on his body, for maximum agility. He has several pieces of jewelry that protect him from several of the elemental powers. Quirks: He has waaay too much tech on his person, although it isnt obvious, with compression technologies at their highest. It is quite obvious from the way he carries himself as a gunslinger that he is a Kelson. He is flirtatious when in the mood, and is rather... hyper for someone with such a reserved core personality. Sanquin Gaianame: Sanquin Character Name: Alesia Unigant Age: 19 (ones own age is easiest to rp) Gender: Woman Height: 5"7 Weight: not fat, but not skinny as well. Especially her arm's muscles are well-developed. Race: 60% Elf. Agile and flexible Class: Martial artist / Fighter Alignment: To myself. Appearance: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v609/Vampiric6/fmonk01.jpgBackstory: Alesia started out in a monastery, training for spiritual enlightment. This was because of her parents having spend their whole life in said monastery. Alesia, however, was a lot more free-spirited to be locked up in a small area surrounded by walls. She decided to leave the monastery and travel from town to town, visiting the destroyed city's she had heared so much about. Seeing what the world had to offer, her fists alone wouldn't to in her mind. But a weapon like a sword wasn't her style either. Searching for an "extention" of her hands, she finally decided on a very simple weapon - A staff about the same length as herself. Personality: Mostly silent and to herself. But if a sertain subject really interests her, she'll be really talkative. Company isn't a bad thing, though travelling alone is still her thing. Spells: None Special Moves: She can channel her Ki-energy through her staff for devastating hits. She can also use the same energy to let her body heal a bit faster while meditating. Lastly, her eccesive training in jumps and kick-punch combo's let's her jump about double as high as a normal person. Occupation: She hunts her food when travelling. If she's in a city, she gives performances of her martial arts, or performs small tasks for people. Weapons and Armor: Her quarterstaff isn't made of normal wood. It's made of a specially treated hardwood. A sword wouldn't be able to cut through, unless it's a very special, and also modified sword. Quirks: Her being a monk, but still enjoying parties and drinking. It's what she has picked up after leaving the monastery. [ E v e l y n ] Gaianame: [ E v e l y n ] Character Name: Fiona Summerwind Age: Unknown Gender: Female Height: 5'6 Weight: 135lbs, Curvacious. Race: Pure Human Class: Sorcerer Alignment: Humans Appearance: Fiona may be rather pretty to look at, but most have not even seen what she looks like. She hides beneath her elaborately embroidered robes which are a deep purple shade. Her robes are embroidered with the elemental symbols in varying shades of colors as well as swirls of what appears to be smoke. Her robes have a hood that shrouds her features in darkness as well as a face mask that hides all beneath it. These robes do leave a lot to the imagination. She could be a monster beneath the sanctity of her colorful robes, but none know and those who do, speak nothing of it. It's like she's a nun that has no interest whatsoever in ever being anything but. The odd thing about her, however is her eyes which are clearly visible. One is nearly clear blue and the other is a deep sea green. However, for anyone else knows, she could be an old decrepit woman underneath. Backstory: Not much is known of the origination of the young woman seeking the assistance of several warriors. She meandered into town a few days ago and no one seems to be asking questions as to where she came from. Personality: She's rather serious. Not much laughter has been heard coming from beneath her face covering. She is rather focused her mission, whatever that may be. She seems intent on destroying demons, however, despite the fact that most humans seem shy away from her due to sorcery abilities. She's not mean, but she is blunt. She isn't cruel unless it is to a demon. Spells: Varying spells....not really. More incantations as she is a sorcerer. Special Moves: None Occupation: Unknown Weapons and Armor: Staff of Mystics-A typical wooden staff that Fiona appears to hone her magic abilities through. Quirks: She's often by herself and when she's not, her silence can become unbearable. She doesn't justify anything with an answer unless she thinks it needs one. [ E v e l y n ] Gaianame: [ E v e l y n ] Character Name: Unknown Age: Unknown Gender: Male Height: Thought to be 6 feet Weight: Slim, Unknown Race: Thought to be one of the Legendary Class: Sorcerer? Demon? Alignment: Demons Appearance: Some think that he stands ten feet tall and sports snakes for a mane of hair. Some say he has red eyes that strike fear into the hearts of all demons. That is if they have hearts. They say that this man is so full of malice that even God himself is afraid of him. They also say that any man who lays eyes upon him falls over simply from fear. Some think that his skin is as pale as the moon while others believe that he has skin as dark as the night sky. Other claim that his hair is the shade of the moon or maybe it was the night sky. One thing is known for sure, anyone who has seen this man was far to frightened to know what the hell he was talking about. That or they weren't paying vey good attention. Backstory: All believe that this man crawled out of the very depths of hell itself and most think that he did it about three hundred years ago. Some think he is the legendary Damien that lead his twin sister and his younger sibling to crush the humans in order to bring their demon world smashing down on them. Some think this idea is ludicrous and that he is just a powerful demon. Personality: He's a cruel, demented man that drinks the souls of all living things as his life blood. That's what they say anyway. Spells: Unknown Special Moves: Unknown Occupation: Unknown....Ruler of Demons? Leader of Demons? Weapons and Armor: Unknown Quirks: Always has a black shadow lurking overhead....or so "they" say. But, no one really knows who these people claiming to be "they" are. XD

~*The Land*~ The land itself has not changed much. Roads are still around, but the cement is cracked, damaged in most places. It's hard to find a road that isn't damaged, but some dirt roads are exceptionally smooth. New York City is still there, but in ruins. The inhabited New York City is actually a little farther south around the edge of the old city. What I'm getting at is the location many things have not changed more than a few miles. Things are still named the same and still in the same general area. Keep in mind there are no cars or airplanes anymore!~*Questions, Comments, and Concerns*~ ~None as of right this moment.

Anyone else notice Evelyn updateing the profiles? Anyway, I still have to make mine, since I don't have it anymore. But I guess I'll go ahead and do that. What you people think? It seems to not be right to me for some reason, although I'm still happy with it..... And we could just have someone else open this thread up again so we can play in that one, just copy the profs from here and paste em in the new one. Also I wont be on this weekend, jsut so ya know.
EDIT: meh, alright. I changed it. all the non-race abilities are the same.
Gaianame: Slifar Character Name: Sora Age: 78 Gender: Male Height: 6'2 Weight: 98 (Due to his lighter bones) Race: Half-elf (60%) (His race gives him higher senses and makes him more agile.

Ah, yes, that. Well, the normal demi-human races consist of elves, dwarves, halflings, and orcs....
Elves: Everyone knows what an elf looks like. They have heightened hearing, of course, a knack for herbalism. They could tell a healing herb from a potent poison a mile away. This also includes an excellent sense of smell. Elves also tend to have a great sense of pride. They are light on their feet due to their ability to be naturally light in weight. They love all things elegant and admire things done with beauty even if it is foolish. These naturally beautiful creatures tend to hold a balance between the physical and the magical realm.
Dwarves: Thought tending on the short, stout side, their strength is unmatched. They could stand in utter darkness and tell you just how far away any wall was, especially stone and things made from the earth. They can discern where a stone came from as well as almost match the exact date from which it came. They are adept in most ways of crushing an opponent. They love anything strong and courageous. Dwarves tend to tell long, boisterous "fish stories" to anyone that will listen. They are heartwarming, loyal creatures that tend to the sides of those that are comrades.
Halflings: Though small, their size makes the unmatcheable in speed. They used to appear as small elves, but truly they are a race of their own. These tricksters love to laugh and play jokes on others. They love to sing as well and have voices that seem to carry like those of sirens. Aside from their impeccable speed, they can also see long distances in the dark, though not as well as a dwarf. Shiny things often catch their attentions as well. These critters tend to be rather adept in magics.
Orcs: Usually rumored to be the ugliest of the creatures, orcs provide a problem when their intelligence exceeds their brute strength. They may not appear intelligent, but Orcs are brilliatn tacticians and are rather handy on the battlefield. They tend to be on the large size, hovering over all others in height, which makes their sight usually intimidating. They have a natural ability to be able to crush a man in half, but tend more on the gently side of life with a short temper. Orcs can hear as well as an elf, but their taste of things is impeccable. They are nearly immune to all diseases as well as poisons alike, which makes them rather solid beings. However, they tend to be rather dimwitted when not within a battle.
~I hoped that helped you a bit. If you take a good quality from one race, it must be balanced with a bad quality from another or the same race. Is that fair?
