She looks ok...though has a bit too curly a hair if you ask me.
But is that Mrs Coulter? If it is, then: oh no, wrooooong...and ummmm, do those people skip lines like "her sleek black hair framed her face"...I imagined her with a very slightly wavy, long black hair kept loose, complementing a shiny um,...sleek blaugh golden haired monkey.
Hum hum...ah we'll see....I wonder how they are doing with the daemon's...

I can't remember Catherine Zeta Jones's voice but for outside apperiance, and the fact that she's very good at playing roles of a domineering, sexy and deadly woman, I'd take her for Mrs. Coulter.
I see Nicole Kidman as more of a frail little flower, I can't connect her (and deffinitely not her voice) with the North Pole and an agressive scary golden monkey as a daemon!

Well she's with Mrs. Coulter in both pictures, which means she's dressed up. Her hair probably isn't that curly normally.

Ugh, I know, the Marisa's hair's all wrong... and I agree with dRTreset, Catherine Zeta Jones is definitely better for Marisa.

i personally am pissed off that they're making a movie. i saw the trailer for it and it looked awful. i didnt even see any daemons at all. the only good part is casting Nicole Kidman; she's perfect for that role.

Don't worry. They're not going to do without daemons. Freddy Highmore (Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) is going to do the voice of Pan. I think that will be cool. This trailer shows a lot of the daemons at work, and from what I can tell, it is pretty true to the book. http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808718640/video/2778562/standardformatAs for Nicole Kidman being cast, I know she doesn't LOOK like Mrs. Coulter is supposed to look, but she is a wonderful actress. I think Catherine Zeta Jones (even though I love her) does have the right look, but she is too SMOOTH. Mrs. Coulter wouldn't be hard, but she should be CUTTING. Does that make sense? I think when it comes to acting, Nicole Kidman is a much better choice over Catherine Zeta Jones. Give Nicole Kidman a chance. She's not an academy award winner for no reason.

I can't wait for the movie! I think that Nicole Kidman will be a good Mrs. Coulter, but I wish that they could have at least tried to make her have the long dark hair as described in all the books. And I was really happy when I found out that Dakota Blue Richards was Lyra, she looks almost excatly how I pictured her.
Oh and Periathien, I love your sig! Pan's Labyrinth was an awsome movie!

Thanks! It still makes me laugh sometimes. That is one of the best movies ever made. Hopefully, The Golden Compass will be just as good.
