Yuri didn't wait for Kaano or Akusano to catch up, she just ran through the park until she came to a small clearing in the woods.
There was a small memorial to shinobi who had lost their lives in the past few years, and she walked through the graves until she found a small shrine with a photograph inside. She picked it up and held it to her chest.
"Sorry if I haven't been by in a while, old friend. I've been preoccupied lately in Suna."
She dug through her bag until she found a small stuffed dog with a ribbon around its neck, and put it in the shrine next to the other things left by friends.
"Hibiki ShiroInu- one of the best in his time, loved and missed by all." she read, "but no one mises you more than she does..." she sighed, looking back towards the shinobi housing.
"I wonder if she'll come..."

Haku appeared on the other side as Yuri was looking towards housing. She picked up the picture and stared at it. She swallowed and put it down. "Yuri...It's...been a while." she said. Then she rubbed the back of her neck. "Actually, only a year. Who knew, you'd become Sunakage in one year..." She looked down at the shrine and puut her hand on it. "...he'd be so proud of you..." she said quietly.

She jumped a little bit, "Wow, you got fast, sensei. Heheh, to tell the truth, I never passed the jonin exams. I made kazekage partly because I helped the village get their money back from that daimyo p***k. I don't have as much skill or experience as you do, it was just a fluke." she shrugged, then put her hand on Haku's shoulder.
"Are you sure you're okay? You look a little pale, paler than normal. You should come to Wind country when Konoha is back to normal, get a tan." she joked, but then sighed and looked down at her feet.
"It's sad, I can't even remember how things used to be," she paused, "after he died, we all just went our separate ways. I see you're still wearing that mask, there's really no reason to hide anymore. You are a respectable shinobi, you have done great things for this country, how could anyone hate you for something that was not your fault?"
She sat down on a park bench near the shrine, looking at her sickle and chain, admiring the shine in the light.
"I'm waiting for someone, a genin, and I already ditched him twice, so I should probably wait here. You should meet him, he's very...um...interesting. He made a pact with his puppet, so it's almost alive."

Makoto appears at the edge of the park with 3 flowers and a picture of his team. He notices Haku and a shinobi he did not recognize and slowly started to walk towards the memorial.

She turns around to see another nin walking towards them, with flowers in his hand.
"Um, hi. Are we in your way? I figured we're not supposed to sit around here, but I'm waiting for someone. Sensei, is this a friend of yours?" she looked him over and decided it was okay to trust him.
I just hope he doesn't try to get too involved, it'll just end up the same way...she thought, looking back at Hibiki's grave.

Makoto looked at her "No...you're fine." He said glancing up at her. He walked towards the memorial, kneeled and placed the flowers and picture and said a prayer then stood up. "Haku who is your friend?" He asked.

Before Haku could say anything, Yuri stood up and bowed.
"Um...my name is Yuri..." she paused, unsure, "I'm from Sunagakure. Haku-sama trained me a few years ago...but after that," she looked to the grave, "we sorta took different paths."
She slowly walked over to the grave that he had been looking at and nodded.
"But, you know, it's very rude to ask someone's name before telling them your own."

Makoto looked in her eyes. "Yes my apologies Yuri-sama." He said as he bowed. "My name is Makoto, i am currently a chuunin in this village. I was reminded of my past today while talking with Haku...and so i decided to revisit those who i have lost." He glanced down at the picture.

"Well, that was polite. I was just kidding you know. Please do not call me -sama, it makes me twitch. I can see in your eyes that you are very strong, we are on the same level here, so there's no need to be so formal.
I'm very happy that Haku has opened up to anyone, she's always been kinda distant, but after we lost Hibiki, she sorta shut down." she sighed, "I really miss him...but, do you mind me asking, are you here to visit your old team?"
She closed her eyes, thinking of her old squad.
I wonder how they're all doing, the rookie nine, she thought, psh, more like rookie four...

"Yes...they were taken before my eyes, and I was too helpless to do anything...all i could do was watch while they were slaughtered...for some reason i was left alive..." Makoto glanced down at the ground. His tone got low so Haku couldn't hear, "I have to tell you, just between the two of us, when Haku opened up to me, she let her emotions go, and cried into my shirt, and all she could say was 'Hibiki...', it almost seemed she was calling me him...I know she can't get close to anyone, but i am assuming that she has never told anyone how she felt before...what does this mean?" Makoto seemed concerned.

"Well," Yuri leaned in, not being able to lower her voice enough, "she must really trust you. She has had a lot of obstacles in her life, her parents tried to kill her, many people in our village alienated her, and she was treated like dirt by her own clan. She was able to open up to Hibiki because he was able to relate, he had lost his parents when he was young and his sister was taken away from him, so he knew what it was like to lose family. You lost your team, she lost her partner. So, I guess she's a bit found of you." she blushed, wishing she hadn't said that.
Turning back to Haku, she said, "Sensei, what happened to Ayane-chan? I haven't seen her since the chunin exams a while back."
Please don't let anything bad have happened to her, she thought, Haku has gone through enough these past few years.

Wow Makoto thought. Hibiki and i weren't that different... Not wanting to interfere with their conversation Makoto just stood there, lost in thought.

Turning back to Makoto, she tilted her head. "Eh? You okay there, dude?" she said, being very unkage-like.
"Oh, by the way, have you seen a kid about 16 with a fuuma on his back, and this weird looking puppet-thing? I was supposed to be showing them something up here, but I remembered the memorial and sorta lost them."
she shrugged, shaking her head. "I gotta keep better track of my students."

Makoto's trance like state was snapped and he jumped. "what?!" He yelled. "Oh sorry...i guess i kinda daydreamed a little bit...just thinking...and no i haven't seen of that description...sorry." Makoto said looking at the memorial again.
