Why is this such an important day in history? Because on October 31, 1981 the first anime tape was released to the public! Anime was around long before but this marked a change in the anime world. The OVA was now posible which ment far less sencorship and freedom for artists to express themselfs more.

lol well, if i'm not mistaken, that already IS a national holiday; halloween! but it would still be a cool thing to remember. thank you for the tid bit of information! I did not know that before.
