Well, seeing as everyone else has a thread here for writing, I decided that I would post my concept art and plot maps! (cause I can't write.)
But don't tell anyone! It's a secret!
This is a writing subforum, so this thread will be underground so to speak.^^
Anyway, I'll be back, so be sure to (secretly) check back! ninja

Hello! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Okay! So I've decided that I want to attempted to teach myself Japanese! And so for the next few months I will be covering the basics of grammer, vocabulary, and writing skills. I have made a goal to memorize all hiragana and katakana characters, as well as 100 kanji by my birthday! (Jan 23) To do this, I will attempt to memorize 10 hira/kana a week and 12 kanji a week (3 per day and a test on Firday). So, for any one who is interested, I will be posting my weekly challenge here! Yeah! Now, I'll give you a basic explanation first, and then off on our quest! Learn-Japanese says The first step is to learn the alphabet. Or, at least, the sounds that exist in the Japanese language. There are absolutely no "tones" like in Chinese, Thai, etc. The characters listed below are called Hiragana. It is the main alphabet for Japanese. The Japanese language also consists of Chinese characters (Kanji), which we will get into later, and another alphabet, Katakana, which is mainly used for foreign words. Katakana will be covered later. There are 5 vowels in the Japanese language. (a), pronounced "ahh", (i), pronounced like "e" in "eat", (u), pronounced like "oo" in "soon", (e), pronounced like "e" in "elk", and (o), pronounced "ohh". All Hiragana characters end with one of these vowels, with the exception of (n). The only "consanent" that does not resemble that of English is the Japanese "r". It is slightly "rolled" as if it were a combination of a "d", "r", and "l". Now, for the kanji, it's important to know that the Japanese stole most kanji from the Chinese, so each one has both a Chinese reading (On-reading) and a Japanese Reading (Kun-reading) and many even have a Korean reading (don't know the name). So, for my purposes, the first reading listed above the kanji is the Kun-reading and the one in parenthesis is the On-reading. Also notice that below the kanji is a diagram illustrating which order to make the lines in. This is IMPORTANT as drawing the lines in the wrong order alters the look of the kanji is the Japanese version of MISSPELLING. YOu wouldn't want to work your a** off only to misspell every other word, would you?! I thought not. So, without any further ado..... Kanji Land #1!This week's Hiragana are: And today's kanji are: ((Note: all grammer was taken from www.learn-japanese.com and all kanji from www.about.com)) That's all for today! Thanks for the attention!

Got them all? I hope so, because it's TEST DAY! Now, open to a blank page and write each of the knaji, as well as it's reading and meaning from memory! No peeking! Now write your hiragana. xp
Congradulations. Either you passed with flying colors, or you've got a lot of weekend work to do! If you couldn't do it, be sure to review over the weekend, or you'll fall behind next week. emo

Sorry you were sick. You get an extention for 2 reasons. 1)you were sick. 2)I didn't count the 20-sum kanji I already know in my 100 count, so you actually have more to memorize than me. So I'm giving you until March 1. See, I have a heart. 'Tis right here---> heart

Woops, looks I'm the one who's behind now! Sorry, here's the kanji for both today and yesterday: And here's this week's 10 of hiragana: And be sure to get a good grasp of this set, especially, because these are the hiragana used most often in verb conjugation! If you don't know these, you can't form complete sentences!!! Oh No-s!

Okay, got behind again. I blame ACT! Good thing no one's actually trying to do this with me, huh? They'd be really pissed. xd Anyway, It's been a full week since my last post, so I'll be finishing off last week as well as all of this week in one post. I know! I know! It's insane, but that's the only solution if I want to catch up! Anyway, in exchange for all of this extra work, I'm dropping the hiragana for now. Catching up is hard! gonk
