Welcome


Welcome everyone to the Body, Mind and Spirit Guild. This Guild is designed to help you to enhance your Body, Mind and Spirit, increase your health and your fitness, as well as assistance in any questions or quiries that you may have, plus anything else that anyone can think of that is related to the topic.

This Guild is not about achieving a 'perfect' body or a 'perfect' lifestyle, but to help you live your life to your full potential.

This Guild is only new (began 2nd of November 2006), so please excuse the lack of topics and current activity at the moment. And if anyone has any suggestions of what they would like to see an announcement, sticky or forum about, let me know.

SO THIS GUILD IS STILL IN PROCESS OF BEING CREATED

But first of all, I would like everyone who joins to post their first post here telling us who you are, why you are here and what you would like to get out of it...

Hello everyone,

I am KaseyBaby (obviously not real name...), I am the owner of this Guild.

I started this guild because I have always been interested in fitness, nutrition and generally looking after myself and my wellbeing. Plus I find alternative and 'normal' therapies very interesting too.

So I have decided to share my interest with other people who are interested in all this too.

I had decided to start a guild like this soon after I joined Gaia, but never got around to it until after I joined the "Fitness and Health Guild" (which caused me to actually start getting around to doing this) and finally saved enough G to do it all.

Hey, I'm Sammel smile

Well even though this guild looks a bit slow at the moment, thought I'd come along. I'm interested in getting fit, like really really fit!! and of course loosing a bit of weight in the process.

At the moment I do hardly any physical activity at all, but I want to aim to be able to run 6 km at least 3x per week and loose 5 kg (so my BMI is in the normal range again, plus I'm just over the healthy body fat levels).

Well I love my food too much, so I won't be doing anything stupid like not eating at all. But I have to change my eating habits. I eat so much junk! I'm surprised I'm not obese because of it!!

Anyway, I will be coming in and out checking up now and then plus putting in some input hopefully. I am pretty knowledgeable in the area, I've just gotta follow my own advice...

I joined this guild becuase of the same reasons as you two, I am interested in it and being healthier and in shape. Like Sammel said, I love to eat food so I dont have problems with not eating or anything. But anyways, I just want to get in shape and start eating better. I just started doing those early morning exercises on lifetime and they really help! Thankyou KaseyBaby for telling me about them. biggrin
I pretty much do just those (I forgot the name of the lady on the program sweatdrop ) and clean up the house. And sometimes I get to take walks. ^.^
Soo.....yea, this guild is awesome and thankyou for excepting me! heart

Hello I am nightwings, I am 24 and a business major.

I joined the guild because I am trying to enhance my knowledge of fitness and healthy living. Also I thought this would be a good motivator for leading a more fit life.

I would love to learn more from the guild and make some great friends.

I joined this guild because after my freshman year at college (surprise) I gained about 30-35lbs and was incredibly unhappy. While I've lost those 30lbs, I'm still looking to lose a little more and try to maintain a healthier lifestyle :]

Hey. ^_^ I'm Jo and I'm here to get healthy. I'm not really interested in losing weight, just changing my lifestyle a little bit now that my metabolism is slowing down so I don't need to worry about losing weight later on in life.

I'm Xihyon, in IRL Pat ^^.

I decided to join this guild for many reasons.... I have been depressed lately, and I need to clear my mind, and occupy myself with something that is productive. Also I play sports so I thought it was a good way to not only collect my thoughts but stay in shape.

I also hope to learn more as well, so this guild seems kinda self explaining for me.

Hi, I am avixen or Emily. I am currently trying to get toned up, start some sports, eat better, etc. Overall, I am looking for a better lifestyle. NOwk, I could tell you I have no reason to do this but it would be a lie! I want to do this not onyl for myself but for a great friend. He has helped me so much already and I want to show him that he has helped me more that he knows.

I am also a part of the Health and Fitness Guild.

I'm currently a college student in California who is hopefully graduating soon with a degree in Kinesiology (Sports Science in some schools) with Exercise/Nutrition and Pre-Physical Therapy (PPT) options. It took me awhile to find what to major I wanted- I could probably minor in a lot of subjects- and with a few more classes I'm minoring in English/Creative writing since its one of my great loves.

I'm almost finished with the PPT part, and I'm just starting with the other option. I decided to take the other option as well so I'm more diverse in getting a job- and physical therapy requires a doctorate now...so that's going to be awhile, more school, and more school loans!

I've been trying to live and be healthy so it made sense for me to take that major, and I like helping out people too. I'm not really trying to lose weight even though I need to, but I'm mostly focusing on strength and endurance training. So I may go down a little in weight, but with muscle mass, it might go higher or stay the same.

I joined to learn and of course to share with other people with the same interests.

Yeah, which is why I'm taking the Exercise Nutrition option as well. Haha. I really need to know how much should I eat to keep my energy up and lose weight at the same time.

In all seriousness, I joined the guild because I am tired of the way I look, that I can't run a mile without having to walk for a part of it, and I'm tired of the way I feel. I want to lose weight, gain SOME muscle, and feel better about how I look. I want to be able to go out in public and not feel like I'm being stared at. I want to be able to go to a beach, take off my shirt, and look hot, dammit.

Okay, that wasn't all too serious, but really, I do want to get serious about this. I just need some help, and I need someone or some people who will help me overcome my laziness.
