So, today I was talking to a girl in one of my classes that I've only become friends with this year, and she asked if I'd ever seen TNG. I replied that I'd been raised on it and then she showed me the scarf she had knitted. And the she looped it around her chest and I understood the question becuase blaugh it was a Klingon scarf. And she was so happy I understood and I was so impressed and we flailed about it for a while.
Anyone else have stories of discovering fellow fans/Star Trek intruding into real life?

My chemistry teacher seemed so stiff and then all of the sudden one day in his study session after school he pulls out this Q quote and i was like "WHa!? You watch star trek???" it was hilarious.

I was in anime club one Friday night, and we were watching Virus Buster Serge. And I don't remember what scene it was, but one of the members used that famous Borg quote. "Resistance is futile."

The other day I was talking to my boss. I suggested something and he said, "make it so". Of course, I replied, "aye captain." It turns out he was raised on TOS and TNG. He also claims to be 3/4 Vulcan, which would explain his lack of emotion.

One of my coworker is the coolest guy I know, one day we just started chatting about it and his favorite character is Q and apparently he got some friends together and they dressed like clingons and went caroling. biggrin

Many star dates ago my family was at my mom's friends, which I'm friends with their daughter, house.
We were drinking soda and with men being men the father of my friend burps "resistance is futile." Perfectly too. Not missing one beat or hurrying the phrase.

Last year while I was taking Chemistry I met a guy named Andrew Nowlan. I didn't know he was a Star Trek fan until I said something about Q and he noticed it. We ended up borrowing each others Star Trek things all year.
Later that school year I met an old friend I had known for about 5 years. I had no knowledge that he liked Star Trek: TNG until I said to him "Bow before the Q, you mere mortal!" after I excellently proved my point about something. (Yah, I tend to randomly role play as a Q. And yes, I realize the Q don't like to be worshiped!) He looked at me funny, then said that he loved Q. I immediately brought out my copy of I, Q and we conversed about the funniest joke in the world.

I was upset over something or other, and my dad put on Star Trek: Insurrection, and I calmed down instantly. Weird, huh?

You know what's wierd?? I've never found ANYONE in ANY of my schools who like Star Trek! And whenever I declare that I'm a hard-core trekkie, they all look at me like I'm some sort of virus or something, and they all desert me like I'm contageous. rolleyes They just don't have the mind to appreciate good Sci-fi. 3nodding
