1) Walk or cycle for short journeys - use public transport (buses, trains, trams) when possible for longer journeys.

5) Turn off appliances (eg TV, music system) rather than leaving them on standby.
6) Unplug mobile phone chargers from the wall when you're not using them.
7) Join a organisation like Greenpeace or Friends of the Earth which campaigns on climate change issues. Their websites and magazines usually contain actions you can take like sending emails or postcards to lobby Governments and polluting companies.
