Snow falls outside of Flaming Snowball. Alice wipes down the bar top while Minna takes down rose decorations. Max reads to a younger Scarlet and Oliver.
Scarlet: When’s Mom and Dad coming back?
Max: In a week.
Scarlet: And Biff?
Max: I… don’t know…
Oliver: He’ll be back though, he promised he’d make those cookies with us again!
Scarlet: Mhmm! We should have a welcome back party for him too.
Max: Heh-heh, I bet he’d like that.
Max bundles up in his over-coat as he walks up the stairs to Biff’s apartment. He remembers talking to Minna.
Max: I just need to be there by myself tonight…
Minna: All right, I’ll pick you up in the morning.
Max takes the key out of his pocket and looks at it; he then opens the door to Biff’s apartment. Max sniffs the air.
Max: Biff…
Max walks into the bedroom and flops down on the bed. He takes Biff’s pillow and sniffs it. He then cuddles the pillow.
Max: Is this the closest thing I have to you?
In a hotel, Ivan takes a sip of scotch. Chris lies back on the bed.
Chris: This is nice…
Ivan: Yeah…
Chris: You worried?
Ivan: I just…got to stop worrying. What’s there really to worry about? He’s going to come back, right?
Chris: I hope so…
The rain pours down on Flaming Snowball; Minna hugs Alice.
Minna: Yeah, I have to leave early but Ivan and Chris will be back tomorrow.
Alice: You sure you can make it through the slush on the ground?
Minna: Of course, tell Max I’ll see him later.
Minna hugs Scarlet and Oliver.
Minna: See you kids.
Scarlet: Bye!
Max sits on the couch in Biff’s apartment, cuddled up in the comforter. He then stands up and stretches.
Max: I need a walk…
Ivan tosses and turns in his sleep, he suddenly wakes up sweating.
Ivan: Kyo…
The rain pours down; Max turns a corner running. Three guys are chasing him. Max falls down in a puddle. One of the guys slides and pulls Max up by his hair; Max growls showing his teeth.
Guy: Looks like the f** got some fight in him.
The guy slams Max to the ground and kicks him.
Max: Biff!
A fox comes rushing down the alley and lunges at the first man’s throat. The fox then growls at the other men, guarding Max. The men rush off and the fox turns back into it’s normal form.
Dolly: Please be alive…
Dolly lifts up Max’s head, Max’s eyes are half way open and the rest of his face is bloody.
Max: Biff, you came…
Max kisses Dolly, Dolly blushes.
Max: I love you so much…
Max becomes unconscious. Present day, Scarlet wakes up in Biff’s bed. She walks into the living room where Biff is asleep on the couch. Scarlet sits in the chair across the couch until Biff wakes up.
Biff: Scarlet?
Scarlet: I’m ready to talk…
