I'm playing an extremely old Armstrong right now sweatdrop Apparently I'd have to get a new one if I want to do my grade 8 but I don't think I'm going to bother. Piano exams were too taxing for me in the first place XD

I have a Conservatory model Geimenhardt flute, sliver headjoint and open holes, a blessing student flute for marching, and a Geimenhardt piccolo, silver headjoint plastic body. Love them all but the Blessing is very abused xd

I'm now playing my open-holed Sonare flute, but I'll probably still use my really old Armstrong for any sort of marching band that I end up doing. And I play a Yamaha picollo.

I started on a super-crappy beginner geminhardt that my dad picked up for like 100 bucks. I use it for marching now, but in 8th grade I went to New York and bought an open-hole Trevor J. James Cantabile, which is a semi-professional model. I heart it! The tone isn't too soft but it actually plays really loud which suits me.

Professional modelled flutes are cool. The best are Powell, Muramatsu, Miyazawa, Prima Sankyo, Haynes, and other various uber expensive brands.
But the stuff like Gemeinhardt and Armstrong goes. I play an Armstrong plastic piccolo and an Armstrong open holed solid silver b foot flute. Ahh... just one day I'd like a solid gold Miyazawa. Those are beautiful. biggrin

I really want a Murimatsu flute, they're sooo pretty to listen to! The tone is really warm and nice. I currently have a professional Pearl model...being lazy not to get so detailed about it. and a marching Yamaha piccolo.

I am marching my school's really crap plastic bodied nickle with silver plated head. And I have marched my student model Gemeinhardt standard silver plated thing... and I also leave that at school in my locker for concert practice too (Yay laziness!)
My good flute is a year old, its a solid silver open-hole Intermediate B foot Yamaha. I really like its sound (one of the reasons I had picked it) its very bright and colorful but also has wonderful tone quality with low notes.

OOOOOOOOOOOOH O_O My friend has a Yamaha like that... her tone was absolutely warm and lovely. But of course tone comes from the person... 10% of the tone is from the flute. XP God I'm such a fricken dork. GAHH.

I really enjoy the feeling of blowing through silver more then nickel too.

I play an ancient Artley. Artley was bought out soon after it was bought by a bigger name company.

I play a beginner's Geimenhardt flute and I have since I started. I don't think you really need to upgrade so soon, it's the same instrument so upgrading might take a few minutes to adjust to, unless you get the low B joint, which I don't have.
I want to get a open hole flute eventually, maybe a different brand as well. Plus the bonus of how shiny it will be compared to your old one. (unless you super clean it twice a day)
[Oh, after looking at some of the professional flutes, I'd like a solid gold one with those pretty engravings from Muramatsu. Those are so pretty.]

But it's between the Miyazawa and a Jack moore which would also take place of a decent car.
