He was wandering about, he had seen Zoo a couple times now, it was nice. Gharadi felt very close to his sister, sometimes he would dream of returning home, being able to see her everyday, and play with her just like when they were cubs. But now he was back out in the roguelands, looking for where his mother might have gone.

"Perhpas she's sunbathing today..." he hoped she wouldnt be mad for him wandering off, he was getting bigger now. His muscles forming and growing, mane starting to form atop his head. He liked being out with his mom, alone time together, away from the hussle and bustle of pride life, but he did miss it sometimes. Perhaps he didn't miss the mud, but he missed the feeling of a large family.

"Mom..where are you..." he spoke to himself as he padded along. The sun beating down on his back. He was hungry and tired, but he wanted to find her, and soon.

Sehani was indeed sunbathing. Today was a calm day, a nice day to simply relax and take a load off. If only that were really possible for her. Constantly, her mind was filled with worries and regrets, wonders and ponders. They bothered her until she simply couldn't take it anymore, and she wondered vaguely perhaps if they would ever give her a moment's peace.

Sighing, she rolled from her side onto her back. She was working with a new tactic, turning about every so often so that all of her fur could warm up. And when one part got too hot, she simply rolled over to let another side soak up the warmth.

As she settled back down again, the lioness went back to wondering. Where was her son, the one that she was traveling with? He seemed to wander off quite a bit, and she wondered if perhaps he had found a female. Maybe he was visiting a friend? Or.. what if he just didn't like being with her? The thought made her growl and shake her head.

She hated her life at the moment.

Gharadi was getting frustrated, at himself, he couldn't find the exact location he had seen his mother before. What if she left?! Or, found a male to run off with or didn't want him with her anymore?! He began to run now, paws carrying him over the earth that lay underneath his paws.

"Mom! Where are you?!" he called out, continuing to run. If he was his mother, where would he be? Under the sun, but that was everywhere? He was beginning to get a doubting feeling in the pito of his stomach, he didn't want to be lost out here, he came out here with his mother and that's where he wanted to be.

"Mom...please...I don't like this game..." he felt like a cub again, calling for his mom. But now he was getting scared, what if something bad happened to her? And he wasn't there to help her at all, what if she was gone? What would he tell Zoo if he saw her again, he was scared, eyes frantically searching for some sign.

Sehani sighed and moved around a little. She was beginning to become uncomfortable, laying in one spot as she was. It was quite, too, making things all the worse for her. She hated the silence. It was a harsh reminder that she was alone and that she had been left and abandoned by multiple people.

Groaning, she rolled back onto her paws and shook off the dirt that had attached itself to her fur. Once she was fairly cleaned off, she glanced to the side. It was still quiet.

"Mom!"

Well, for the most part anyways.

Flicking her tail, she trotted quickly in the direction of the voice. It had been fairly faint when she had heard it, but she would recgonize her son's voice anywhere.

Coming up upon him, she called out. "Gharadi! My son, what's wrong?"

Gharadi was still frantic, almost hyseterical. He couldn't find her! The worst posiblities running through his head, he ahd to find her, he had to. Everyone he knew would hate him if something bad happened, Zoo would never speak to him again. He would be alone out here and no one would care about him.

"MOM!" he screamed/growled out this time, on the isndie he was a cub who was about ready to break down and cry. It would be his fault, all his fault. Then he saw something in the distance, running towards him. It had to be her. Then the wind carried her scent and he bolted towards the figure, his mother's pelt and eyes familiar to him.

He didn't say anything when they got to the same spot, just nuzzled her cheek and wrapped his forlegs around her left leg. He had gotten so scared. He wanetd to be big and strong and courageous, but if anything ever happened to Sehani, his mom, he would be devastated.
"I could't find you...I'm sorry mom...I'm so sorry..."

The gray lioness blinked, confused, at her son. He seemed frantic and almost hysterical. Why would he act that way?

"Gharadi," she whispered. "Gharadi, son, what happened?" She purred and nuzzled him, her smooth tongue whisping over his eyes and cheeks. It was perhaps the only time someone might see her being kindly and nice to anyone. But this was her son, it was expected.

As he wrapped himself around her and nuzzled her, she sat down close to him and curled herself around him protectively.

"Gharadi, tell me what--" She cut herself off as the young lion talked about not being able to find her and began apologizing for it. It was strange. Why would he be doing that? There wasn't a reason for it, unless something really had happened or someone had threatened to hurt her.

Fearing that might be so, she pulled away slightly to look her son in the eyes.

"Gharadi, why were you so worried about finding me?" Normally he wasn't, was he?

Sehani's voice calmed him down so his breathing was calm and smooth now, but he still stayed close to her, rather content with ehr curled around him. He was acting like a silly cub, but he got afraid something bad had happened, it was natural for him. The two that mattered most to him in his life was his mother nad his sister Zoo.

"I went to go visit Zoo, but when I couldn't find you, I was worried...that you left or something bad happened...I'm sorry...I just, couldn't find my way back..." he ducked his head under her chin and purred in his throat, showing he was sorry and hoped she wouldn't be mad for him leaving for a bit.

"I didn't mean to be gone for so long, but I heard stories, that bad things can happen...I thought...something might've happened, I was scared mom..." he had been, he knew that without her, Gharadi could be considered nothing. Just a juvenile lion wandering around with no purpose.

"Are you mad?"

Hani listened intently to her son's words, making sure not to miss a single thing. He had seemed quite upset when she had found him, and she was anxious to learn of what had been bothering him so. Yet when he was all done and finished, she couldn't help but smile and even chuckle a little.

"Oh, Gharadi.." she whispered, nuzzling herself into him again. That's all he had been worrying about? That something had hapened to her because he had heard stories?

"Nothing will ever happen to me, I promise. I won't leave you without ever saying goodbye. Just remember that." She purred and licked his face affectionately, attempting to calm him down even more. He had been out in the sun too long, and all the stories he heard were getting to his head.

"Darling, I'm not mad at all. It was perfectly understandable that you would worry. But from now on, just remember that I'm not going anywhere."

Remembering that he had said he had gone to visit his sister, she nudged him and made him think about something else. "So how is your sister? Good, I hope?"

Gharadi sighed and curled agins his mother even more, content and satisfied with ehr being right next to him. He was glad she was alright, that they were alright, that she wasn't mad. Though he still got slightly confused by her saying she would never leave without saying good-bye, he wondered if she had any plans to leave in the future. He hoped not, he'd be sad, quite sad.

"Just making sure, I know you're tough mom...just, some things I heard, just make me feel...worried about you sometimes," he smiled at her, perhaps they were switching roles for once. He was the worried one, not her.

The thought about his sister Gharadi began to smile even more.

"Yes, she is good. Its nice seeing her, I miss it there sometimes, but I like it out ehre too, just you and me and the world," he said with a bright expression. Yes, just the two of them.

It was perfect.

"What have you been doing mom? Just sun bathing?" he wondered if she had gone anywhere exiciting, or met someone exciting, either way, he would listen.

Sehani continued to purr as her son curled against her. Though she was bitter and mad about losing her mate, she could never be angry with her children. At least not at times like these. Not when she had her son curled against her, worrying that something might have happened to her and that he might have never been able to see her again. That simply made her feel wanted and appreciated.

Nodding, she licked his face again. He was right about her being tough, she had scars to prove that fact. But he was also right to be scared. They were rogues, and their lives were lived day by day with surprises around every corner.

"I'll make sure to be more careful when you aren't here," she said quietly, more to reassure him than anything. She felt confident in her ability to protect herself, but if it made her son feel better then she would attempt to keep a better look out.

As the conversation moved to her daughter back in the swamps, Hani listened quietly and carefully. It pleased her to learn that her daughter was doing well. She only wished that she could spend more time with all of her cubs. But, as most of them were back in the swamps, she was really torn. She disliked the swamps now, since they reminded her of her long lost mate, Matope. Yet her children were there... she felt there was no happy medium to that situation.

"That's good, very good. I'm glad to hear she's doing well."

Purring, she nudged Gharadi playfully. "Yep. Mama's just been lazy today," she laughed. "Nothing but snoozing and sunbathing."

Gharadi stayed close curled up to his mother, he was feeling too much as a cub at that point, he was supposed to be big and strong not a cub all the time! But for now he would let it pass, this was his mother, the one who he wanted to make proud by becoming bigger and stronger. Hoping to do something good in his lifetime to make her proud.

He purred in his throat and nuzzled her cheek, wrapping his tail somewhat around the end of hers. This was one of the moments he could live with content all his life, he loved being close like this to his mother, he would do anything to make her happy and proud.

"Yes, be careful, or else I'll go after anyone who tries to harm you..." Gharadi spoke almost in a joking manner, but he was just as serious as well. On the topic of his sister he mused for a second, remembering seeing how big Zoo had gotten so far. Gharadi felt protective over Zoo and his mother, he would someday protect him both if he got the chance. Make both proud.

"Lazy?" Gharadi asked laughing, "I've been wandering around trying to find you and you've been lazy, silly mom," he nuzzled her again and stood up and head butted her gently. "How about you give me a hunting lesson today mom, I could use the practice...please?" he created a grin on his maw that was both silly and charming all at once.

Sehani's heart simply warmed up as her son nuzzled himself into her countless times and just appeared content to be with her. It was nice, being appreciated like this. She only wished she could have been appreciated more by her mate, Matope... the lioness shook her head. She didn't know why he left, and so shouldn't have been making assumptions like that. Besides, he had treated her perfectly fine before he had suddenly gone.

Feeling bad for having thought he just left her and their family, she frowned and stared at the ground for a second. It was horrible to have assumed that of Matope.

Gharadi's voice interrupted her depressing thoughts, and she forced herself to smile again. Remembering her son's words, she laughed slightly and nudged him again. "I'm sure you'd be able to give them a good beating if they ever tried to harm me," she agreed, hoping to boost his ego but not too much. He was, after all, still young and vulnerable. She didn't want him getting into too much trouble.

"What, can't your mom be lazy once in a while?" she laughed, pawing at his face gently. She enjoyed spending time with him, it just put her in a good mood.

As he asked her if she could give him a hunting lesson, she rose to her paws and stretched out a little. "Oh, weeeell..." she began, as if she wasn't going to. But then she perked up and smiled at him. "Of course! Come on, let's see if we can find something to eat around this place."

Flicking her tail at him, she trotted past him and onward, though she wasn't going so fast that he couldn't catch up and keep up.

"Let's go."

Gharadi puffed his chest out, yes, he would hurt anyone who dared to hurt his precious mother, or sister for that matter. Protective he was, he'd grow big and strong, then no one would want to mess with his family no-sir-ee. Gharadi made big eyes at Sehani when she pretended like they wouldn't go hunting, but as soon as she said it was alright Gharadi jumped up in the air, then landed courching down, hind quarters in the air.

"Yes! Let's go get them!"

He was excited, he hadn't really tried to go after big game by himself, he tried once, and they ran away, because he had stepped on a twig and gave off his position. But this would be different, he'd be with his mother, it would be all the greater.

"What do you think is out here mom?" Gharadi asked catching up to her and padding close to her side, he wondered what they could try to catch. He wanted to hunt something, grab something with his own claws, yes, that would be great. Then his mom would be proud!

Sehani smiled at her son. It lifted her spirits to see him so bubbly and excited about them hunting together. He really did seem to love her a lot. Why else would he come back to her day after day and worry so much about her safety? Well, at least she still had someone in her family who appreciated her.

Flicking her tail, she trotted swiftly beside her son. They had game to catch, prey to tear up and eat. Oh, she could already taste the sweet, delicious taste of fresh meat!

Brought out of her fantasy by Gharadi's question, she glanced over at him for a moment. "There must be something around here..." she murmured, taking a good look around. She hadn't been in these lands for more than a couple of days, surely not enough for her to learn the way of the land. And herds were always moving. She was never good at keeping track of them.

"Just stay alert for any sign of them," she told him, while following her own orders as well. She would give her son a good hunting lesson, whether she had to make the prey cooperate viciously or not.

Gharadi nodded and kept focused, eyes searching over the open savannah, trying to get a glimpse of some type of animal. He really didn't want to prey on a rabbit or bird, he wanted to try and get something big with his mother, something like an antelope or a wildebeest, oooo yes that would be nice.

"Oh mom, I forgot to tell you...Zoo, she asked next time I go visit, that you come too," Gharadi said with a smile, his tail flicking to the side. He had almost forgotten that, but heck, he could never forget anything his mother or sister told him. Those were the only too he actually listened to all the time.

"Where would they hide mom? By water, underbrush, somewhere?" he asked curiously, the gentle breeze ruffling the beginning of his mane.

Where the heck could everything be?
