Strength: Blade is a great deal stronger than a normal human in Movie 1 he was able to throw Dr. Karen Jenson about 20 -30 yards from one roof top to another. He has shown to be able to casually kick someone through a three inch thick solid steel door with little to moderate effort. Blade can turn up a motorcycle with an object as simple as a knife as he did during the beginning of Blade II. Blade can preform an impressive Horizontal leap of about 20-30 yards. Jumping from the top of a building Blade can land five stories down with no apparent side effects. Due to his training Blade is stronger than most vampires as well.
Speed: Blade's reflexes are bullet timed seeing as he can fight and overwhelm people who are capable of casually dodging bullets such as Deacon Frost and Dracula/Drake. In the official Blade Trinity music video Blade was shown to be able to block machine gun fire from all directions with his sword and even cut bullets in half.
Durability/Endurance: This man can take a hit not only is his durability beyond that of a human, coupled with his healing factor he can take alot of abuse. Blade had his ribs cracked and damage done to his internal organs to the point where he was spitting up blood and stood up 17 seconds later. In his fight with Drake we see Blade slammed into a marble and concrete floor creating a crater the size of a small swimming pool and then being tossed around like a rag doll, after that he was still alive and able to stab Drake with the Daystar Virus.
Intellect: Blade is far from an idiot able to track even the most illusive of vampires cross country. He has a massive amount of resources as well. Blade seems to be highly observant of his surrounding, one of the reasons he won against both Frost and Drake.
Fighting Skill: Blade is a martial arts master and meditates daily. A superb hand to hand fighter Blade's style seems to be abusing the pressure points on his opponent aswell as breaking bones either with a kick to the rib cage basically smashing it, snapping necks or tossing people around.
Techniques/Powers: Blade has all the powers of a vampire and none of their weaknesses. This includes enhanced strength, speed, durability, and a healing factor. All of Blade's abilities increase when he's either had a drink of blood or has taken his serum. His body was able to fight of the effects of a tranquilizer after he was given his serum in Blade Trinity. Blade also has enhanced senses, most notably smell and hearing. He was able to hear S.W.A.T teams sneaking silently and approching by boat before it was audible to humans outside of his and Whistlers hidout out. Blade stated that he is able to tell vampires from humans by the way they smell hinting he has an enhanced sense of smell.
Gear: Black sunglasses, leather trench coat, boots, bullet proof vest and muscle shirt as well as several stake and gun holsters.
Blade has employed his longsword (but, interestingly, not his trademark Katanas), which is titanium, acid-etched, and silver plated. The hilt of the sword features a timed security device that must be turned off immediately after it is grabbed; if the device is not disarmed, four blades inside the hilt are released, butchering the holder's hand. According to the script (though this has never been shown in the actual movies, and earlier drafts made reference to the sword in fact having been used by previous vampire hunters), Blade forged the longsword himself.
Another of Blade's trademark weapons in the films is his silver "glaive", a collapsible boomerang-like weapon carried on his belt. The glaive can be thrown to dispatch enemies at range (sometimes killing multiple vampires with one throw), and will return to Blade's hand afterwards. It's also deadly in close combat, functioning as a double bladed knife.
He also carries silver stakes in a leg sheath, these being capable of being used in hand to hand combat or as throwing weapons.
Other weapons featured in the movie include a heavy UV lamp, "vampire mace" (an aerosol can containing garlic extracts and silver nitrate), and an incendiary grenade (during the movie's opening scene, he tells Quinn that he thought he "might try fire for a change" before tossing the grenade). The incendiary grenades are not used after that scene, presumably because they did not successfully dispatch their victim.
He also introduced a retractable silver garrote wire, mounted in his vest. He uses this garrote to kill Frost's right hand man Quinn.
For long-range, Blade used a heavily adapted MAC-10 automatic pistol, with a large compensator mounted on the front to reduce recoil. Blade also carried a shotgun modified to double as a stake gun. The shotgun can fire regular shells/slugs, and can also fire large silver stakes, such as the ones worn on his leg. Theoretically, the stakes in the leg sheath could serve as reloads for this weapon, though Blade is never shown reloading the stake gun.
The first movie also shows a full wall of various assault rifles, sub-machine guns, and pistols, with various scopes and other accoutrement's, but they are never used.
By the second movie, Blade has mostly abandoned the shotgun (though it appeared in the second movie's video game adaptation), and moved on to a further modified the MAC-10 as a suitable firearm. The gun from the original movie served as a treasured memento (he had inherited it from Abraham Whistler, his mentor. He almost used it to dispatch his teacher as a symbolic gesture).
During the course of the movie, he also acquired dual USP Match pistols with recoil compensation, a small entry light, and laser sights (the light and the laser sight are both mounted under the barrel with a special mounting sheath). These then serve as his primary ranged weapon for the rest of the movie and continue to fill this role in the third movie.
Besides the sword, he also continues to carry his glaive, stakes, and garotte.
Blade’s armorer, Scud, also invents special UV flash bang grenades, capable of wiping out a room full of vampires (or in this case Reapers) at once.
Another Scud invention are a pair of gauntlets with retractable blades. Aside from the blades themselves, when used to punch an enemy they inject the enemy with EDTA, a chemical lethal to vampires (but not Reapers). Blade uses these with little effect during his first battle with Nomak.
When Blade is preparing to go hunting Reapers with the Blood Pack, many of the Blood Pack are provided with weapons from Blade's armory. They were primarily given assault rifles, mostly with dual Beta-C magazines. Some of them are provided with the shotgun/stake gun as well, showing that even though Blade may not use it as much as he did in the first film, he still retains them in his arsenal.
Many of the guns in Blade's arsenal are now equipped with small UV entry lights mounted on the barrels.
In the third movie, Blade retained the pistols, sword, and glaive, and also used a "chain sabre", which is a dagger in which the silver blade was connected to the hilt by a spring loaded wire, which he could throw out, and would retract back, allowing Blade to kill several vampires quickly (and stylishly) at medium range. He seemed to like the weapon quite a bit commenting that "This worked real good" to Whistler (though he never used it again).
Also, the silver stakes which had been used to great effect in the first two movies took on a smaller, almost dainty, throwing knife configuration, (harking back to his early days in Tomb of Dracula) making them primarily a projectile rather than a hand-to-hand weapon.
Also, his trademark car, a late sixties Dodge Charger, has been given a set of UV headlights, almost serving as high beams.
The movie also showed that the car itself contained quite an arsenal of its own, including a sawed off double barreled shotgun capable of firing silver stakes.
Notes: While Blade has all of a vampires strengths and none of their weaknesses he does suffer from the thirst. A powerful blood lust and hereditary hunger of all Hominis Nocturna. Although it must be stated that most vampires would not see this as a weakness. Deacon Frost stated " You got the best of both world.. All of our strengths none of our weaknesses." Blades response was."Maybe I don't see it that way..." Although Blade for the most part shows no emotion he is prone to Sarcasm and ridiculing. One thing that has shown to seriously piss him off is the mentioning of his mother in a negative way.
History: Blade met Abraham Whistler when he was just a child. Blade, who had come to live on the streets, had given into his vampiric instincts and had been feeding off the homeless. Whistler would have killed him had he not noticed that Blade was half human. Whistler realized the potential this boy had. He possessed all the powers of a vampire and only one of their weaknesses, the thirst. Whistler took the boy under his wing and trained him to hunt vampires. Whistler also devised a serum that suppressed Blade's vampiric thirst. Whistler taught Blade everything he knows and became a sort of father figure for him in fact Whistler stated that Blade was like a son to him. Blade Denys having human emotions towards his in a way adopted father and describes their relationship as this" He makes the weapons, I use them." Blade was noticeable pained when Whistler died though.
