(the story)
The Straw Hat Pirates seem to get into adventure wherever they go. After their latest adventure, they just want to get away from it all for a while. The group lands on a resort island, with the intent to relax and resupply. However, they ARE wanted pirates, so this isn't exactly easy to do... but they can try, right?
The day after the Straw Hats land on the island, each are going about their own business. Luffy's out eating (if you could call it that) in one of the local restaurants. Zoro's taking a nap on the ship, guarding it from any who would wish to do the Merry harm. Nami's out at the casinos, making thousands of beli. Usopp, on the other hand, is spending thousands of beli on new gadgets and souvenirs. Sanji is sampling the local produce at the open-air market. Chopper is with Usopp, trying to blend in as much as a reindeer with a pink hat can blend in. And Robin's off at the library, reading ancient books about the history of the island.
However, not all is at it seems at this peaceful resort, and the Straw Hats are about to find this out the hard way...
((Yes, I know, it's kind of an amalgamation of some of the plotlines of the movies, but I wanted something general enough so that everyone can work with it. biggrin ))

(the rules) 1. Follow Gaia's rules, as well as the guild's! This should be a given, really. 2. Literacy is a must! My definition of literacy is a post of at least one paragraph in length, with a minimum of 3-5 sentences. One-liners will not be accepted. 3. No godmoding! Another given. Yes, I know the Straw Hats are extremely strong, but they still have limits, and, for all we know, they might even lose a battle or two along the way. The same thing with your original characters, if you happen to play one. 4. Romance? Okay, I can deal. Just keep it in character. 5. And while we're talking about characters acting like characters, this RP is based off the Japanese version. That means no Zolo, no lollipops. If you're a dubbie, I might be able to make accomodations, but I'm not sure at the moment. 6. Don't kill another's character without permission. Uh.. this should be a given, I guess. 7. You can have as many characters you want, ONLY IF YOU CAN HANDLE THEM ALL. However, you many only have one "non-canon" (ie: made-up) character. This is to ensure that the canon characters aren't overwhelmed by the made-up characters. 8. You may app any character from the One Piece anime and manga. This includes movie and "filler" characters. Of course, it may take some creative RPing for them to fit in with the story, but I'd love to see a diverse cast of characters from past and present One Piece! 9. You may also app any 'made-up' character, but don't expect them to become a nakama of the Straw Hats right away. These kind of things take time. Also, no twinky Devil Fruit powers or Devil Fruit powers already taken by another character (a list of all the fruit powers is at http://www.gumgum.org/gg_lay.php?x=info/devil , and it includes the anime/movie only fruit powers which are also considered taken.) If your character has a Devil Fruit power, I will need an especially good RP sample to prove that you are capable of playing a character with this power and not abusing it to godmode. 10. OOC should be like ((this)). That way we know if you're just putting something in parenthesis or if you're really typing something OOC. 11. When you PM me your application, PM it with the title "Believe in Wonderland!" This is so I know you've read the rules. 12. If you have any further questions about the rules, feel free to drop me a PM. I know, the rules seem a bit harsh, but I just want everybody to have fun. smile

Affiliation: Lily is a Pirate/Engineer, but is also know as the Pirate among Pirates. But that only happens when she crosses path's with a small/averaged size pirate ship, who's crew and captain are mean/rude to her. Though it dosn't occur all the time, its been enough to give her a reputation. As far as the Engineer occupation goes, Lily is capable of making standard repairs to a ship, even building a small one herself (she built her own small vessel - The Speedy Otter).
Abilities: Though she looks very very harmless, Lily actually posesses some superhuman strength. The reason for this is because she took strength, offensive, and defensive training for 4 long years so that she could wield her dream weapon - a Giant Monkey Wrench (drew up the idea for it when she was 7), which weighs a ton (literally).
Appearance: Lily has dark brown hair, covered by a black bandana, which she uses the ends to tie her hair up into a small pony tail. Ontop of the bandana, she wears a pair of black goggles with red lenses. Lily has emerald green eyes, and stands a short 5"3. Her neck is constantly covered by a long red scarf with gold tassels on the ends. One end of the scarf lies on her chest, and reaches down right above where her breasts end, the other, much longer end just dangles behind her, mostly blowing in the breeze. She wears a white buckaneer shirt that has the shoulder cut out, and the remaining, creased up sleeves, have been cut off at the elbow. At her waist, a small red sash is tied around her waste, to keep her shirt from moving around. Her shorts are dark blue with a stirp of white and blue stripes running vertically down the sides, and stop just a little abover her knees. As far as footwear goes, Lily wears a pair of brown hand-me-down boots, originally too tall for her short legs, she made a slit down the top of both, giving them an odd looking lip with an upside down V shape cut out of them. Under the boots, she wears a pair of knee-high striped socks, one with red, the other blue.
But her most interesting peice of clothing would have to be the orange cuffs from what looks to be from a captains coat, that she wears proudly on her wrists like braclets. These were her prize from when she fought Captain Buggy in a one-on-one fight some time after she met and drank with him at a bar a little while back. She won, and like with all her victories, she takes a small "token", like a necklace or something personal from her opponent and keeps it as a trophie. Since Buggy didnt have much on him to begin with, she just ended up cutting off the cuffs of his coat and made them into braclets. Lily still feels bad about beating him up, and hopes the next time they meet, they can go drinking again.
Personality:Lily is a kind-hearted, sweet, innocent, yet very tomboyish girl (due to the fact that she was adopted and raised by a crew made up of only men). She is friendly to everyone she meets, and is very appologetic if she happens to mess up. One of her biggest downfall's is that she is also a very gullible person and will trust everyones word, so in Usopp's case, she would actually believe most of his tall tails and lies (unless she were to eventually figure it out by herself). Another downside to her personality is that shes a emotionally sensitive person. If everyone around her is happy she's happy, but if someone around her happens to be sad, she'll become somewhat sad, but try her best to cheer them up. Though Lily has a vry sunny disposition, and is very outgoing(especially when drunk), no one has yet to see her truely angry (not even herself). But when she happens to get lost, or succumbs to the lonelyness of being on her own, she can become the complete opposite - very depressed, unable to coup with the horrible feeling of being alone. Its because of that and the fact that whenever the subject of her parents or family comes up, she has no answer, for Lily dosn't remember a single thing of what happened to them. But dispite that, she always manages to work up another smile, so as not to worry anyone around her. Lily is also very protective of the people she cares about, and is very sympathetic towards everyone, even those who try to kill her. Another one of her key traits, is that she has an "aw"ing obsession over all things she finds cute, like animals and plushies. But overall, shes a fun-loving, determined girl who will do what it takes to get a job done, and will only get annoyed when someone calls her a "little girl" or the worst - "Shorty", this especially applies to when she's drunk. Lily is known to be a very rowdy drunk, and gets into bar fights quite often.
Bio-
Past: Lily was born on a small, secluded island in east blue known as Otter Isle. She was raised by her mother, because her father left and joined the Marines some time before she was born, so she never knew him. But it was durring her 5th year of life that would be the worst one.
On what looked like to be a normal day, was when a harmless looking merchant ship approched the islend. The villagers, thinking nothing other then new things to trade, didn't pay mind to it, and allowed it to dock. It was durring that time, that Lily's mom Arilla had given her daughter a red scarf as a present, one she finished knitting earlier that day. It wasn't long before the sounds of screams, gunshots, and connon fire ripped through the air outside their house.
As it turned out, the notorious pirate Don Krieg had used a merchants ship to launch a sneak attach on the unsuspecting island. The village was being pillaged and plundered, people were being slaughtered all over.
Keeping her cool, Arilla took her 5 year old daughter and hid her under the floorboards, in the cellar. It didn't take long for some of Krieg's crewmates to break into the house. Lily had watched in horror as her mother got murdered in cold blood just above her. But things really changed for Lily after the pirates left the house, and a cannonball came crashing through their house soon after. Some of the debris from the house came crashing through the floor, and a chunk of stone struck her just above the forehead, and everything went dark... .
The 5 yr old girl awoke the next day, finding that the whole village had been destroyed, but had no memory of where she was or why it looked like this. The knock on the head made her forget everything but her name and age.Like a lost soul, the child wandered around the rubble and carnage, searching for something, but not knowing what really.
The next day, Captain Shanks and the crew of the Red Haired Pirates came ashore the little island, hoping to find a place to rest up and stock up on provisions, but arrived only to find the town had been completely wipped out. So Shanks decided to head out and search for possible survivors and salvage anything they could, accompanying him was Lucky Roux and Yasopp. As they made their way through the rubble and deris, the three happened to come across the little girl as she wandered aimlessly through the ruins.
when the three caught up to her, Shanks kneelt down before her and asked the girl what had happened. Though Lily was a little hesitent at first, she told them she didn't know. The dried up, bloody wound on her head indicated she was suffering from amnesia. He then asked her what her name was, she trusted he was good and told him her name was Lily and that she was 5. After that, he kindly asked if she'd like to go with him and sail on his ship, in which she gave a few moments thought before saying "ok!".
Shanks and the crew raised the girl for 8 happy years, durring that time they forged the weapon she dreamed up at 7, and helped her with 4 years of training to wield it. She also learned the basics of engineering, since she loved to help with chores and patching up the ship. Shanks was known as "Big brother", Lucky Roux was "Uncle Roux", and Yasopp was "Uncle Yasopp". The three of them were her closest family members on the ship, "Uncle Ben" Beckmen too also being close to her.
It wasn't till she was 13 that Lily announced that she was going to head off into the world and make a title for herself. So with heavy hearts and tears building up in their eyes, Lily bid everyone goodbye. Shank's hugged and said his goodbye's, giving her a map of the Grand Line as a parting gift from all of them, saying they hope to meet her there someday when shes stronger. So with the mini gallion she built herself, Lily sailed off into the world, determined to become as great as her Big Brother and Uncle's one day.
Present: After 3 years of sailing on her own, Lily had gotten herself a rumor-ish reputation amoung the pirates. She's the "Adorable" girl that robs small-average sized ships of their gold and taking off. In truth, Lily only steals when she meets a ship whos captain and crew are mean to her, in which she gives them a beating and takes their treasure. But she only keeps a small portion for herself, the rest she gives to the poor/ towns that are poor or pillaged. But life alone on the seas have been tough on her emotionally. The lonelyness can be overwhelming at times, and her only company is her childhood plushie - Rufus the Otter. Every night she suffers from nightmares about her past, when the pirates killed her mom. Fortunitly, she never remembers when she violently wakes from them. Lily's only wish is to have bestest friends to have around, to take her lonelyness away.
Other: Lily's favorite pastime is to go drinking at bars, play her small clay ocarina she obtained over her travels, train with her monkey wrench, and dance to the music she plays on her phonagraph/old fashioned record player. Her favorite animal is an Otter, and her favorite fellow pirate (even if they fight) is Buggy.

Affiliation: Ami is a pirate theif and marksman. Her half cat abilities help her aim and such.
Abilities: Because of being born half cat, her sense of hearing, smell, sight, and balance are much more advanced than a human's, however, she is no stronger than a human.
Appearance: Ami stands at 5'4''. Her sholder length, blond hair has blond ears sticking out of it, which she usually covers with a black newpaper boys hat. Her eyes are a baby blue color, and look like normal human eyes, except at night, when they turn into cats eyes. She wears black baby doll shirts and black gloves that have no fingers and end at her elbows. Her jeans are normally baggy, so she can easily hid her tail in one of the pants legs and no one will notice. Her black shoes are tennis shoes, and make running away from a problem easy.
Personality: Most of the time, Ami is hard to understand. She's like a normal teenage girl... with extremely bad moodswings. She doesn't have a really big tolerence level eather, and argues with someone everytime they do something she doesn't like, which is alot. She loves to flirt and enjoys teasing boys and then leaving them high and dry, taking all their money and other expencive things. She often uses her good looks to steal from guys and get rid of Marines. She defently knows how to use her human looks to her advantage.
Bio:
Past-
When Ami was born, she was immediately labeled trouble, since she was born half cat. She was given away to a blind shop keeper, who raised her, giving her everything she wanted, even if it was completely bizzar. When she was six, that's when she first realized that she wasn't normal, when a few of the local kids in town started calling her names.
She quickly learned that she wasn't liked and usually hid away in the back of the store. When the store started loosing business, Ami finally left to live on her own. She was ten at the time. She stole one of the ships in the harbor and left. When she arrived at the next island, she went into a store to buy clothes. When the shop keep kicked her out, she returned later and stole the clothes and some belli, then left.
She changed into the baggy jeans, hat, and t-shirt, and left the island. The next island, she bought things to learn to shoot, like a pistol, and a bow and arrow set. She practiced for hours on the ship, and learned how to use the wind to her advantage. Then, she learned how to make her own arrows.
Present-
Ami typically travels alone, since she doesn't want anyone to know her secret. She practices shooting a lot, and she fishes, since she really has nothing better to do.

After being stuck at sea in her mini gallion for two weeks straight, Lily was happy and relieved to be back among people again. Her eyes wandered all about, looking at everything with fascination and excitement as she walked through the somewhat crowded streets.
"Wow!.... Theres so much stuff here, and so many people!" Lily said to herself aloud as she stopped to look at everything around her. But as she did, the brilliant gleam of gold lettering from a local bar sign caught her attention out of the corner of her eye.
"Hmm....." She thought to herself for a moment before a big smile spread across her face. "Hehe! I guess i could have a drink or two in celebration before i go off and start exploring!" Lily said cheerfully to herself as she started to skip her way over to the bar.

The entire bar fell silent as all eyes fell onto the 16 yr. old when she entered the room. Lily didn't notice the silence till she took a few steps in and looked around, but she just responded with a wide, happy smile and a cheerful wave.
When the bartender came up to her as she seated herself upon a barstool, Lily wasted no time in ordering a large, frothy mug of Grog.
Though he hesitated at first, the bartender soon delivered, seeing how she's both a paying customer, and a possible pirate at that.

Ami let out a small sigh as she walked through the town. She hadn't found a good loser yet, and she was wasting time here. She doubted that there was even a single person that was avaliable for taking. She walked into the market and descided to buy some food for once, since she couldn't steal in the middle of the day. Pulling out a few Belli, she purchased some apples and milk and started heading out of the store, passing a blond male on her way out. He didn't seem the type to want to hang with a girl, so she just let him pass. She even doubted if he had seen her at all.
Usopp's tounge stuck out of his mouth slightly as he continued to work on his latest creation. Some how, Luffy managed to get into Sanji's refridgerator again and eat most of the food, so he was trying to make a lock that would sound a loud alarm, so when Luffy tried to get it open, it would wake someone up. Hopefully Sanji, since it was his kitchen, after all.

The formerly proud owner of the “Sunny Side All You Can Eat Buffet” had been reduced to a trembling quivering husk of his former self. Normally, he could sniff out this kind of person from a mile away, but this man had somehow slipped by his defense. He watched on with morbid fascination while this straw hatted individual devoured everything in sight.
The straw hatted individual of course was none other then Monkey D. Luffy, captain of the Straw Hat pirates. And devouring everything in sight would be an understatement. The owner had a feeling that before the night was done, he would regret ever opening an all you can eat buffet.

The Bartender stared in awe as he watched the mugs of grog pile up before the young pirate as she went on her "small" drinking spree. The surrounding customers who had sat on either side of her, had moved down a stool or two from her, due to her "disturbing" constant loutbursts of laugher (though there was no one around her to be causing it), and talking to her stuffed otter every now and then.
Lily was enjoying herself, and was about to order her 9th drink, when she was suddenly, and rudely interupted by a taller, butch man who had watched her from the far side of the room with his group of buddies. He strolled up to her with a cocky grin on his face, snatched the mug out of her hand, and guzzled it down without a word.
Lily, in her buzzed state of drunkness, blinked a few times before saying "Um, excuse me sir, I don't know if you realized it or not, but...you just drank my drink..". The man looked at her as he wiped the frothe from his lips, then grinned as he set the mug down upon the bartop and replied "Little girls like you should'nt be drinking....So why don't you go off and play with your little dolly".

Luffy stepped out of the resteraunt and into the light of day. he had left behind an empty resteraunt, a sobbing owner, and several, very stunned patrons. He yawaned and smacked his lips, "That was good... I don't fill hungry anyomere..." he glanced around, "Hmm... I dunno what to do now." he muttered as he walked off in a random direction.

Lily's pupil's shrank as she felt the rage (influenced by the alcohol) bubble through her veins. What the guy didnt know, was that he struck the girl's biggest and worst nerve that he could of. "What......did you call me?..." Lily said as she slipped off the barstool and slowly gazed up at him.
A few moment's later......
A large man went flying through the glass window of a local Bar that Luffy had just started to walk by. He flew past the strawhat boy, just missing his face by inches, then went skitting across the street and into the wall of the building just across from the bar.
And not more then few seconds later, would Lily be seen stepping outside into the street, holding Rufus (the otter) with her left arm, and holding a giant Monkey Wrench in her other hand as she let it rest across her shoulder.
"Hmph! That's what you get! You... Big Jerk!" Lily shouted with a pouty expression at the bloodied up man who deeply insulted her.

((Ahh, I've been neglecting this, haven't I...))
The cook of the Straw Hat pirates was having a bit of a dilemma in the town's marketplace. Well, quite a dilemma, to be honest. There were two competing fruit and vegetable stalls selling produce of similar quality at similar prices... each staffed by two beautiful women. He took a drag of his cigarette, standing in the middle of the road. "If I shop at one, then the other will be mad at me... but if I shop at the other..." He lowered his head and sighed. "Life can be a cruel and harsh mistress." Of course, this was all interrupted by a nearby commotion that seemed to be coming from one of the many bars...
Sanji ran towards the source of all the racket, only to find the remnants of what appeared to be a bar fight... as well as his captain. "Oh... jeez..." He put two and two together, even though Luffy had no involvement at all in the carnage at the bar, he believed this to be the case. He didn't even notice the young woman that walked out of the bar, holding a giant wrench.
