I'm reading a book called "Farenheit 451". Some of you may have heard of it but what caught is when Guy (the main character) says his wife is dying. This makes me think because shes in perfect health in exception of one night when she overdoesed on sleeping pills. But really I notice this women never really thinks for herself. She's obsessed with her 2 minuet tv programs of nonsence and says shes happy all the time but apparently she isn't. She kills things on the road with her car, and never wantes to talk about anything that might make her sad.
Of course not thinking is deadly in cercum stances of not looking before crossing a street, but I think there might be some more to that also. Even when you're awake you think along some lines of subconcious things even if you never notice, But if you never guide your thought toward anything could it turn on you? thats one thing i am curious about.
What do you guys think?

Ok this part confuses meQuote: But if you never guide your thought toward anything could it turn on you? care to be more specific? sweatdrop
do you mean that if you don't focus on something pleasent to think of that your thoughts will wonder to the stream of thoughts you most definantly DON'T want to think about?

in some cases yes, that is what i mean. actually pie you just about got the whole issue. because even if you don't want to you still have nightmares do you not? even in your sleep your brain goes over the consiquences of what could happen, which is what we all call dreams. Do you think guys wife has even drempt about why she isn't happy?

Yes sometimes but most of the time i have dreams and then stuff i didn't realize i even think about get's blown up and thrown into it, like last night at some point i was afraid i was going to get mauled by a bear and the guy's wife probably had some kind of dream trying to tell her that she's not happy

Just look at all the teenagers with low-self esteems it's hard enough for them to deal with, yet isn't it odd that when they try to commit suicide they often don't go through with it unlike adults who do?
