Okay, so this wasn't quite going as planned. On the one hand, he was at an advantage in terms of getting his way. However on the other hand, at this point, even if he could get a kiss off of her, the chances were high if she threw up, it'd be on him.

Chess was off then for the night for sure. The damsel in distress routine was really underestimated. Heh heh heh.

Seeing the look on her face, he nodded slightly in acknowledgement,"Right. Well how about you just take it easy and I won't blab a word about this little scene if it bugs you." Well... not just A word.

Fluorine let got of Titanium (he felt cold and smooth) and kinda collapse-sat onto the floor. She was getting the nausea under control now, slowly but surely, but the world was still spinning a bit. She was thirsty and there was a NASTY aftertaste in her mouth. Fluorine's mind was racing frantically to figure out what was happening with her. She had never been sick in her entire life, most certainly not like that.

Leaning on one of her hands Fluorine tried to brush the hair out of the face. She wanted to just leave and go home, but even the thought of moving was not an option right now. Fluorine tried her best to concentrate on not puking. Perfect timing. It's like ... she got poisoned or something. Weeeeeeeird. Not to mention that she looked like a complete idiot now and not like a sex kitten at all. Let's try damage control ...

Looking up thru the curtain of her hair she finally spoke: "M'kay. Thank you. Erm ... wow ... what was that, anyway?" She tried to giggle and had to put her hand to her mouth again, just in case.

"Hm, dunno. You sure you're alright, though?" He sat down [which for him was a bit like coiling up] and glanced over at her. Ti twitched his tail back and forth, slightly bored. It was a bit difficult to enjoy a game of flirting when the other one playing was looking ready to vomit. It was one of those things that could reaaaally kill a mood.

If she didn't move to much she was allright now. The trick was not moving. Fluorine remembered that this conversation started with a proposition of a game of chess and she held onto that conversation pointer now.

"Peachy." - she smiled pretty.

"So ... you said you wanted to play chess? We can make a board right here, if you help me a little ..."

Her brain was working just fine, it's just that the rest of her body was not cooperating. But there was something to be said for poise and self control. And dammned she'd be if she would fall apart like a ninny in front of Ti .. or anybody else for that matter. Fluorine straightened up and breathed out. And raised an eyebrow at Titanium in "I dare you" kinda way.

"Will you get me one of those post it notes and a pencil? I'll think of how to do the figurines ... "

He returned the eyebrow raising and gave a challenging smirk in return. "We could always tear up another piece of paper and color half the pieces dark with a pencil?" Ti went and picked up one of the post it note stackes and a pencil.

At least carrying things around didn't require thumbs. If they did he'd seem like a bumbling idiot against his own will. The idea of that made him feel a little indignant.

"Catch on fast, do you?" - Fluoirne smiled and took the paper. She was by now very used to handling large, human sized objects like pens and scribbled the board onto the post it note. She was not particullary carefull about it because that would mean not concentraing on not puking. Her insides were hissing back at her but that didn't even make her flinch. When the nausea got to strong she took a quick break.

After Fluorine was done with the board she ripped up a a bunch of little squares and quickly jotted the symbols of the pieces on them. If Ti was helping with any of this, she'd give him a smile. Finally the board was set.

"White or black, handsome?" - Flo purred

The boy said he knew how to play. This would be a good way to learn about what the boy really was. A game of chess really opened up another person's mind . Some where carefull, some where bold, some where reckless. Some, like Fluorine, were tricky. What would be Ti's shtick?

"I can think on my figurative feet when the need for it arises," he grinned subtly. One kind of had to improvise and catch on fast when they were at a few disadvantages,"And I think I'll take black."

So, strategy on how to pull this off correctly. Considering he wasn't very adept at the game, this was going to be tricky. If he was nervous, he wasn't about to let it on. Then she'd probably just laugh at him and mollycoddle him for being a "young boy" or something irrelevant akin to it.

Fluorine adjusted the board carefully and moved her white pawn. He liked black ... fitting. Titanium was beginning to intrigue her. In the few weeks of his existance he had managed to win Arsenic's favor, persuade Neon to a neck breaking plot (erm, not very hard, really) and learn chess. What was his goal in all this? Fluorine figured a bit of small talk wouldn't hurt.

"So why do you want to break out the mutants? I heard Neon's side. What's your goal?"

She was carefully watching his moves. Young or not young, Fluorine was not the one for loosing to Ti in the first game. But she didn't mind to keep him entertainted for a while. Crushing an opponent right away, without even giving hima chance was not how a cat toyed with a mouse.

He chuckled for a moment before replying in a joking manner,"Thought I'd see if I had any relations back there to say hello to."

He thought for a moment or two, before selecting one of his black 'pawns' and moving it. Hm, what to say, what not to say. Such a fine line really. Reveal too much and he'd risk disgusting her and garnering disfavor among the others. Say too little, and she'd think he was trying to build himself up to more than he really was.

"Actually, it's more of a test, most of all I'd say. Most of the others still stop and question me as if I have to prove that I am what I am."
Like yesterday with Rhodium freaking out and Lithium making remarks behind his back. He was NOT here to be a freak show for their amusement and belittling. ..If he had everything his way by now he'd be here for them to idolize and be at his beck and call.

"So, I figure, what the hell, might as well check out the stock and see what Puchiko's cooked up. Might find a few relatives in there after all," he raised both eyebrows in a bemused expression,"Plus I figure it'd be nice to have something bigger than me around the house I can tell to open and grab things for me. Sharing four fingers on two hands doesn't give one too easy of a time." He held up his own hands to demonstrate.

As they played Fluorine began to notice an oddness about how Titanium was moving his figures. She was not sure what it was at firt and assumed it to be his newness to the game. Or at least inexperience. Yet there was an ... originality ... about his moves she has not seen in Nickel's play or the play of the computer. And as Titanium mentioned WHY he wanted to see the mutants, Fluorine didn't belive him completely. After all, his game as revealing an subtility that was either a clever plan ... or fools luck.

"I see. So you are trying to get a pet to do your bidding."

She shrugged. It was very similar to what Neon told her a while ago. Which made her doubt his words since Titanium seemed so different from Neon. Fluorine carefully switched from one hand to the other, suppressing the nausea with all her willpower.

"Interesting. I have not seen Puchiko's mutants, but I'd like to. So if you need my help we can negotiate ... same goes for your hands."

But what Titanium said did point out his weak point. So the boy was shy about his appearance ... or at least resentful in a way about it. A sweet weakness to be played with and gently stroked ... she continued, looking up at the board and into his eyes:

"Ti, can I call you Ti?"

Fluorine smiled.

"Anyway ... I have found it pointless to try to prove oneself. Most of us are so full of it, we will not notice. Unless you insist on being admired by everyone ... then good luck. But I think you won Neon over by saying mutants and breaking out in one sentence."

She stopped and carefully moved her rook to take out Titanium's knight.

"Then again, if you get Neon hurt or into trouble with humans, I will kick your strappy behind. Me and her might not be the best of friends, but still. I do not mean this as a threat, but as something to keep in the back of your mind. it's your turn."

He nodded, moving his bishop up while considering his words carefully. He wasn't about to do the sappy noble vow thing, that was just disgusting.

"I'll keep an eye on her. I was thinking of asking a couple of the others to come along anyway, just in case." After all, HE didn't want to die if something went wrong and screwed up.

"And yes, you can call me Ti. As for the pet well, who *wouldn't* want something or someone to do their bidding? Makes things like starting the dvd player a lot easier." He glanced at her pointedly. After all, this was the chick who'd built herself a robot.

He wagered on her not being entirely convinced by what he was entirely saying, but that was okay. It made things more interesting, after all.

Fluorine took the bishop with her queen and tossed it aside casually. Ghetto chess was much less satisfying because all you got was a little shred of paper. But she was having fun figuring out Titaniums moves and . The nauseous feeling was getting weaker and weaker. Maybe soon she'd be even abel to go home ... weired, that entire incident. REALLY weired.

"I do not think there is anything out there critter wise that we can handle and Neon cannot. But thanks. Who else is coming?" - she asked curiously, looking up at Tinium for a moment, then returning to the board.

Anyway, Titanium was moving the conversation towards Babe, and Fluorine could never truly resist bragging about her.

"Hell yeah. You should totally get yourself a robot. They are easier to control then critters. You see, part of the reason I got her" - she waved at the persocom dozing off in one of the chairs - "is because my previous guardian was ... unreliable. Besides, you have to train critters, and feed them. Robots ... them you can just reprogram."

Hmph, Queen takes Bishop. The fact she was resorting to use that piece was probably just for her own sick amusement, not that he wouldn't stoop to using the king if it wasn't ludicrous. Chess made no sense in terms of the pieces.

Why was the King the weakest piece?! Kings ruled things, they conquered, commanded armies, their word was law. They had POWER. While yes, some of them were rather lame, inbred and stupid, others had shown to be more formidable.

Like Xerxes and Caesar Augustus. Now there were kings. And now their stature was reduced to nothing more than a little piece on a board that ran away from everything the opposing army threw at him. Fine then, if he couldn't at least use a bishop, he'd take out her rook with his remaining knight.

"Aster's a decent enough guardian. Taste is flawed, but it has its good points to some degree at least," he considered the idea of what it'd be like to have a robot. Hmm, complete and total obedience was a definite plus.

Then he thought about the house he was living in. Robots definitely were not sturdy enough.

"Critters are much sturdier than technology around the house. You didn't see what happened to the last toaster. Or the tv."

Fluorine looked up, eyes sparkling up curious: "What happened?"

She was beginning to enjoy this.
