Ok I'm going through some bad stress time. Long story short our wedding photographer is screwing us over BIG time. Hubby and I were married march 20th '05 and we still do not have an album, our photographer did a free sitting for our daughter's 1 month pictures (she's 7 months old today) that he is now saying was not free. I'm not going to go into more detail, if you want to read more the last two posts in my journal cover this subject. On top of the photographer issues both hubby and I are not feeling well (and neither of us want to get baby girl sick), I'm drinking echinacea tea and taking vitimins to boost my imune system (having hubby do the same).
Anyway onto the point. I need some ideas for relaxing, both mind and body. Thanks in advance all.
Update! My daughter cut her first teeth today! No wonder she's been as cranky clingy lately. We wouldn't have known if it hadn't been for a sick baby doctor appointment today. Anywho the stress level in the family has gone down quite a bit. Haven't been able to do what Kyoki's(i hope I spelled that right) advice due to my own body functions. Thank you for all your help everyone!

Well, since this is the herbalis guild, I shall tell you what to do herbwise first. Drink a mixture of chamomille, and lemon balm tea. It will relax you...and possibly put you to sleep. But then you will feel better. I always recommend meditation. Also, some deep breathing exercises work too. Hope I helped. Namaste.

That tea sounds very yummy. and deep breathing never crossed my mind, but it makes so much sence(sp?). Thank you!

Sex?
Ok, it sounds so "What?!" but I'm serious. I mean, you're stressing already, and you have a kid, so find a babysitter for a long evening, or send little one to Grandma's house or something, and have a romantic night. Complete with flirting, and touching, and sex!
Sex releases chemicals in the body that relax and help you de-stress, but it also has the added benefit of releasing -emotional- toxins. It brings you into the now, and helps you be you, right this instant.
*nods* So sex.
Oh, and chamomile tea. ^_^ 'Cause that stuff is just nice.

^^ I'd offer to sit for you, but I'm in the wrong state, I think. XD
Hm. Everyone mentions meditation, but I've never been good at it. I wonder why?

I wonder why? maybe you haven't found a method that's good for you. i always thought i wouldn't do something like that, but it's a much simpler thing to do than i imagined. i like to just sit quietly and focus on something, a candle flame is a favourite of mine. or if i'm at work and on my break i watch the surface of my drink, i have peppermint tea from a flask, the inside of my flask cup is black so i just see light reflecting on the ripples of a dark surface, i find that very relaxing 3nodding

I can't make my mind "empty" or anything, usually... although I do have a "screensaver" mode. XD I get a lot of "Hey! Why are you staring at me!?" angry shouts in restaurants, and I'm like '*blink* What? Who're you?"

If you are interested in herbal remedies for getting rid of stress make sure to read up on the plants for some can effect babies threw breast feeding. Chamomile tea is very good, also take lots of long hot baths! Take a day off! Go get a massage or something! My sister just had a baby in March and when she gets stressed my mom babysits and she takes a day off! I hope everything goes for you in the future.
