What do you think of social groups? Are they ridculous? Pointless? Just another way to seperate people? Or are they something positive? Share your opinion here!
I myself don't like them. It seems like they just divide people. Thats why when I see people that would normally be considered in completely different social groups chattering like good buddies it makes me happy. We shouldn't be seperated by such standards. =3

I agree with you! I don't see myself as a part of any social group, away from my friends, that is. But we're all different in our own little ways, and that's great! So I don't really see the point... Some people even think that people that listen to metal smoke, drink, do drugs and sacrifice animals... That amazes me, how stupid people can be!
But still I think that social groups are pointless.
[Sorry if this didn't make any sense.. I'm so bored and tired right now, reading for a test =/]

It is human nature to group things into categories. It is also human nature to be friends with people your friends are friends with. You see them more, and you don't want to offend your friends.
I personally like social groups, because I know that I should hate anyone who's in one. Otherwise I would have to go through all of the trouble of talking to someone just to see how shallow they are.
Last year I attempted to be friends with random people. It was a disaster. All of the other kids in that group would convince the person not to be friends with me, and I ended up friendless. When I started a new school this year, I made sure to establish myself in one of the groups. I started out in one, and now I'm in another. I still get along with the original kids, so when I get into arguments with the kids in my group, I can go hang out with them.
I know that sounded really shallow, so just for your information the original group was of all of the girls who didn't talk to anyone and just sat there reading books, and the new one is all of the boys with social and anger management problems. Not quite a clique, mainly because it is made up of people who have completely failed socially in the past, and still manage to piss off all of the other kids in the school.
I much prefer being in a group to being alone. I actually have friends for the first time in my life, and they all seem really similar to me. We spend most of our time together talking all about how we hate everyone else and how we wish humans were more like computers and how everyone seems to hate us for no reason. Last year I had to do that alone.
The only type of grouping I hate is when it comes to mental problems or learning disabilities and stuff like that. I am myself. I don't need any stupid labels, since they won't change who I am. Not everyone is always going to be exactly like everyone else. I don't need a name for every single aspect of my personality, and I seriously doubt that they're all different things. Maybe I'm just different. Is that now illegal?
