I want some peoples' opinions about the gist of Sango and Miroku's relationship....
This has probably been discussed in other threads...So I'm making one for the heck of it!
So what is your opinion? Do you think that they could really and truely commit to one another?
Somehow I think they could, if they ever broke out of their usual character. I know it sounds odd, but they [kind of] promised to be together [under one condition..but still!]. So why is it that after the series progresses it seems like they get farther apart?
I know some believe that its miroku keeping his distance not to hurt sango, but honestly it'll hurt more in the long run.
What do you think?

I think its because they have problems in their relationship that they've left unresolved for too long.
Sango is shy and, when you get down to it, very fragile when it comes to trust. Her own brother killed off her own clan right before her eyes; I don't think she's going to trust people very easily anytime soon after that. Miroku's flirting and cheating doesn't really help his repetoire in her eyes, neither does his groping; she still doesn't trust him.
And whenever they share a romantic moment, or get around to discussing the problems in their relationships, he always gropes her before it can really develop so nothing ever develops or is resolved.
Miroku is worried about her feelings because he knows his time is short and she's already emotionally weakened by the thing with Kohaku. So he tries to distance himself and doesn't make any real close contact besides groping her, which isn't exactly meaningful. XD; He doesn't really ever say anything to her that he wouldn't say to any other girl, except for the one time he proposed to her. So its hard for her to tell if he really does love her, after all.

And what really bites is that I found a neat site to watch anime on and they cut out all episodes with Sango and Miroku.

I think that they could make it. After they defeat Naraku I think that Miroku and Sango will be much more open to there feeling. B/c once they are not just fighting for there lives and can actually settle down, they will know that they are ok. Not to mention they don't want there feelings to get in the way of killing Naraku.
